Do they hear us or not?

Sorry, I'll cheer harder. I will be so pissed off for greatness that it will rub off on the players...

You kinda missed the point of what I was getting at. We have had sensational leaders throughout our time as fans. 17 years to be exact which bred a winning culture and the expectation of that. Do you think if Ray was on the team he would be OK with this ? I think earlier in the season when he said we had a lack of leadership that those words fell on deaf ears because of optimism.

When you have people say they will come out swinging after a buy and turn in that kind of performance you have to wonder how many times empty words are spoken. After two weeks of preparation and getting yourself up for a very important game, that is the product.

Yes we have a winning culture here. How people are shocked that we as fans get upset when they fail to meet expectations is beyond me.

Go ahead though, being condescending will make it all better.

Is that why he turned the 5-11 2007 team into an 11-5 playoff contender? Is that why the team was up and down and largely inconsistent under Billick?

Yeah, okay.

Its true that the team quit playing for Brian Billick but one of his teams did win a SB. Remember? The only reason they didn't win more SBs is they had no QB except Steve McNair until Joe Flacco arrived in Baltimore. You should chill out and get real yourself. Coach Harbaugh has been the beneficiary of a gifted team with the greatest Middle Linebacker ever and a pretty darn good QB. Otherwise, he would have been sitting home watching the playoffs like you.

The problem is Harbaugh isn't pissed off for greatness. Once he got paid for winning the SB he doesn't care anymore. He just wants to hire all of his buddies and laugh it up about how much he is screwing the organization. I can't believe you don't see this.

Amen!

Pretty sure Gabe was being sarcastic, but your sarcasm detector seems to be malfunctioning.

I guess I thought Gabe had a mind of his own or do you speak for him? If so, why don't you merge your comments into his. His make much more sense than yours, Wiley.

well without us fans the ravens or any other sports team would be nothing. we pay money on there stuff and tickets to the games etc.. that should count for something. i have said it before and i will say it again the problem is the head coach john harbaugh. i cant stand that guy never have. that guys ego is to big, hes hard headed and just a plain stupid idiot. he tampered with the teams formula thats has worked well, and all for what to give his buddy castillo a job. harbaugh doesnt care want us fans think at all. hes a prima donna thats the main cancer in that locker room. are things going to change, not now. harbaugh needs to go plain and simple. dont know why people praise this guy.

Praise Harbaugh for:
Consistent play off appearances
Ravens winning record over last 6 years
Super Bowl 47

Now fire Juan Castillo and watch the improvement

The main reason we have had success with Harbaugh is because we got a good young QB and a running game, and a talented defense. McNair got old. Joe has been consistently good, has been durable and Harbaugh had talent. Unless you are an x and o HC like a Sean Peyton for example, it will be difficult to succeed without that talent, as we see this year.

They are changing the offensive line but the fact is, KO is done for the year and we have 2 inexperienced, not so great players playing next to each other in Gino and AQ. Ray Rice looks like McGahee did.

Our top 4 contracts for 2014 are all slumping this year (Webb, Rice, Ngata, Yanda) and Joe will be getting quite a bit too. I read somewhere (i think RSR) that 53% of our cap is in 7 guys and those 7 guys aren't exactly playing lights out including Flacco

The disturbing part of that is that we are stuck with all four of those contracts. It is nearly impossible to wash our hands of the Rice and Ngata contracts especially.

Name a great coach who doesn't have a lot of talent on the roster. I'm not holding my breath...

*The browns are the only franchise in the league that haven't made it to a Super Bowl".

I assume he meant "division" because CLE obviously isn't the only team in the "league" that hasn't been there.

Why do some fans keep saying Harbs rode Ray Lewis to a SB? Ray Lewis was hardly in his prime in Harbs joined the Ravens and last season nobody with a straight face can say Ray Lewis carried the Ravens to a SB victory. What Ray got last year was the much deserved reward of the offense carrying the load to a SB win. Ravens for years had top defenses but couldn't get anything going cause the offense was terrible. I don't understand it when people say they have always hated Harbs.

Probably, but then again I can't think of another team other than his referring to pre-expansion...  I can think of a couple myself, but it just may be that he was also "exaggerating"...  seeins how both are Historical teams that have been in the league for decades.  And we all know how dedicated their fans are...  especially fans of the Browns.  Despite having a Gosh awful team all these years, they still feel entitled to be there.

Well, this season - first time ever without Ray - so far looks like we are missing two very important aspects of what Ray brought. Instilling the positive attitude and winning mentality day in and day out. I just don't see it right now. The other one is on-the-field coaching. Ray always knew what's coming, every freaking snap and he knew exactly where each player should be on the field. You did not need D co-ordinator with Ray and Ed in the team.

Also, as much as Ray lost in his playing ability over last couple years, it's only fair to remember that he was our leading tackler in a last playoff/Super Bowl run.

So, yes - I'm inclined to agree with fans who think that Harbaugh rode the Ray train to SB. At least until he proves otherwise.

*Opinion here...  I live in FL, was talking to a friend who is a Steelers fan.  He made an interesting statement today.  Now, You really gotta feel bad for them getting a 50+ burger put up on them yesterday...  but anyway, his statement made a lot of sense... A fellow football fan from Cincy said...

"You Steelers and Ravens fans are whining?, Really?...  Us (Bengals), and the Browns have been at the bottom for years, you guys have one bad season and you think the world is ending".....  The browns are the only franchise in the league that haven't made it to a Super Bowl".

Reality???  He's kinda right.  But, yes we do expect a lot from our team.  We expect our team to hear us and listen.  And we have a lot of young players, and a couple newer coaches...  Do we need help?  Absolutely, but we must be patient...

I'm tired of reading these kinds of posts. Do you not get that we threw away the season all because Juan Castillo has turned our running game into the biggest joke in the NFL. We just won the Superbowl and us fans now get excited when Rice gets a 3 yard run.

There's no excuse for letting a guy come in change the offensive line schemes of a Superbowl winning team, and now we're rushing for 2.8 yards YPC, worse than the JAGUARS. Mueller helps us get a ring and Harbs gives his friend the job.

They wont listen to us no matter how often we've proven smarter than them. For years we wanted Cam Cameron gone. They didn't fire him until we lost to Charlie Batch and then the Deadskins. All of last year we wanted Bryant McKinnie back at left tackle. They didn't do that until the playoffs. Those two changes won us a Super Bowl and I'm 100% sure if they fire Juan Castillo this team will be back on track. I've seen this too many times now when the fans can identify a problem literally years before our coaching staff does. Its disgusting.

i second this

Ed Reed is going to get booed out of Texas playing as bad as the Ravens knew he would (which is why they didn't resign him) and Ray Lewis(leadership aside) was a liability on defense last season. The facts do not add up to support the Ravens rode Ray Lewis to the SB or even in the SB. Last years defense was one of their worse in the 5 year stretch Harbs has been here. If Ray Lewis was here the only difference is the run defense would be a little better. I loved Ray and Reed as much as anyone but as I said before Ray Lewis did not carry this team to a SB last year. How do you know they don't have a winning mentality? Having a winning mentality does not automatically win FB games. Ravens losses/injuries/down years on the offensive side of the ball are why the Ravens are 3-5. Ray Lewis has NEVER made the Baltimore Ravens offense better no matter how amazing his defenses were. They had an amazing defense for years and still went 8-8 or worse, the problem is once more on the offensive side of the ball.

'As soon as you start listening to the fans, you start sitting with the fans'

Agreed as far as running the organization. I do think they hear the complaints of the fans to a certain extent though.

You'll see articles that address the most active threads in the forums.

You'll see an issue that's been a hot topic covered in a presser or an interview session.

No, even the most educated among us isn't going to sway the organization one way or the other but they do hear us in a certain respect.

Jacksonville has never made it to a Super Bowl either. But yeah a lot of people are spoiled and overreacting to what could be a bad season for us.

Except that isn't the case and the facts don't support it.

In Pittsburgh the defense didn't get off the field the entire game. The Steelers punted only once on their opening drive.

They've given up over 100 yds (or better) on the ground for four straight games.

For three straight games the defense hasn't been able to get off the field in the last 8, 6 or 7 minutes of a game to even give the offense a chance to win or tie the game.

No Ray or Ed wouldn't be helping any IMO but this isn't all on offense either. This is certainly NOT a case of our defense being first class and our offense lacking.

That's well said.
Also a reality many people seem to glance over as they talk about how the defense is tired because of the offense going 3 and out.

And in response to do the organization hear us, I hope not if the organization came on these boards for advice on decisions we wouldn't be able to field a team, so many fans call for heads of various players, coaches, upper management game to game. Lol smh.

But I do believe that the writers/reporters for BR.Com skims through the forums for some of their material to write and in an attempt to make it their own they try to spruce things up with stats to bolster it one way or another.
I've seen it happen a few times this season, was shocked when our topic of too much 1st down running became a topic on news feed and it was misrepresented to look like the team had even playing which was quickly debunked by Callahan09 lol.

Say you do fire Harbaugh, who do you want to bring in? One of those college coaches like Schiano?! Or a coach that has bounced around?

Juan needs to go but not Harbaugh. I have no idea what is wrong with our secondary.

That has always been my issue with people that want Coaches fired or players gone. They never post their solution to their perceived problems.
So I'm glad to see you post that like okay who do you want to replace him then?

It's like when I use to complain about Cam I would always talk about lack of route diversity and how adding slants, seams, more crossing patterns could help out the offense ( just to add suggestions ).

They aren't going to do anything that would jeopardize the franchise.  Listening to a whole bunch of casual fans (and some educated ones) is exactly what they're not going to do.

So if the fans stop going to games, which mean a loss in revenue, will they listen to some extent then?

That's not going to happen.  We have a true fanbase, not a group of fair weather fans.
