Amazingly, BAL is still tied for 2nd in the division!  If BAL beats CIN & PIT and Dalton's boys lose 3 more games this season, then the Ravens will win the division once again!

so we have to win out with our schedule and hope dalton loses 3 times? LOL

we win out and that's 10-6, so dalton needs to lose one more on top of the final game of the season

Hate to break it to you fellas, but remove the purple blindfold. We have more a chance of finishing dead last in the division than first. Us, Cleveland and Pittsburgh are all tied at 4-6. We still have to play Pittsburgh again and you can never count them out late in the season. Bengals in CIncy, Lions in Detroit, and the Pats at home on primetime (lions game is primetime too).

We're not making the playoffs, we shot ourselves in the foot way too many times this season. Its not that I lost faith, Im just looking at the situation as a reasonable football fan. I bleed purple just like the rest of you, but we simply dont have the talent on offense to make a late season run. At this rate we're looking at 6-10 record. And on top of that we'll probably finish 3rd or 4th in the AFC north. This year is not our year, lets go 2014 draft!

This week's game at Soldier Field will be do or die for BAL.

Hmmmm.....

I respect your optimism.  I didn't give up last year and my faith was renewed in the team when Cam was fired.  I felt like this too before.  I said the team would string off a 5-1 record after the bye or 6-0.  Then we lost to the Browns and yesterday to the Bears in a game we looked like we were going to run away with.  Mathematically no they're not out of it I just highly doubt with this teams inconsistencies that they make the playoffs.

At this point, the Ravens need the Bengals help. The Ravens need to do their part and hope the Bengals drop some games. They could be in for a #6th seed, and anything goes in the playoffs, but there are just so many questions and holes with this team that I don't even know if we'll be a team to reckon with in the playoffs this year.

First thing's first: knock the spiraling Jets out of the playoffs' orbit.  SD should lose @ Arrowhead.  MIA should lose to to Bam-Bam Cam.  TEN should lose at OAK.  PIT should steamroll CLE (my favorite insider joke!).  If syzygy occurs, this would be the standings at the end of next week, starting w/ the 6th seed:

OAK

PIT

BAL

NYJ

MIA

TEN

CLE

SD

BUF

BAL would then be able to knock off PIT for 7th place with a win at M&T.  After that, it would just turn into a race with OAK, who has 3 games vs KC, SD & DEN to end their season.  Logic would indicate them losing at least 2 of those last 3 games.

I think things are looking pretty damn good for BAL. OAK and most of the other teams ahead of BAL are bound to fall off in the next few weeks. Obviously, a win against the Jets and then PIT on Thanksgiving would be huge.

It ain't over until it's over.

The Ravens are the defending Super Bowl Champion.

But seriously, if this season turns out to be a down year.

I expect a lot of change this offseason.

Ozzie's 2013 offseason hasn't been fruitful, but we should be able to find, draft, and keep quality players.

It also looks pretty good for the Steelers and the Browns too, if Hoyer gets back to QBing. Cincy's been up and down all season long. With the Bengals, you never know for sure until the game is over. One week, they blow out the Jets #4-rated defense 49-9 and the next week, they play like pee-wees against the Dolphins and lose by 2. It ain't over 'til it's over - that's for damn sure.

Anyone see how we play on the road? 6th seed traveling to most likely New England, No Thanks...We have enough egg on our faces this season, dont need/want that embarassment on national TV.

We have 1 road win this year, with 22,000 Ravens Fans in Miami

Too many negatives with the 2013 team to be playoff material, our signature win is beating the Bungles..

The reality is...if the Ravens make it to the playoffs this year - it is only because they made a run winning all or most of their remaining schedule. If that happens, they will be 'the' team nobody really wants to face. Nobody. Just asks anyone of the teams that they've faced throughout the years in the playoffs including and especially the Patriots.

Go Ravens!

It all starts tomorrow against the Jets!

Took the words right out of my mouth.  Time to open up a can of whoop butt on the jets!!!

I am hopeful that we can win out. However, it's really not a big deal to me if we don't make it. We have had a lot going against the team this season. It'll give the team a new goal for next season.

If the AFC was just average this year I would say unlikely but I think we at least have a 50/50 shot if we can finish 9-7. AFC is just especially weak this year which bodes well for a bubble team like us.

We need to beat the Steelers at home, or they'll be in great position to get the 6th seed and we'll need to win out AND have Pittsburgh lose a few.

The Bengals play our threats for the 6th seed, San Diego and Pittsburgh. With 2 guaranteed losses in that mix, it puts us in good position to either get the 6th seed (if the Bengals win both) or get the 4th seed (if the Bengals lose one or both). Miami and NYJ play each other twice, meaning two more guaranteed [conference] losses between them.

The Ravens just need to take care of business, especially on Thursday.

EDIT: If we win out, all we need is for Oakland to not win out as well. Our conference record beats every other 6-loss team, and either we'll have the 6th seed (if Pittsburgh loses to Cincy) or the 4th seed (if Pittsburgh beats Cincy).

We're currently 7th in the AFC.  The Steelers hold the tiebreaker over us right now.  This game on Thursday is more important than originally thought.

didn't think tiebreakers counted when multiple teams have the same record. Isn't there like 5 teams at 5 and 6

Ravens, Steelers, Dolphins, and Jets are tied at 5-6.  Tiebreakers still matter.  If it were week 17, they'd have to decide on someone for that 6th spot.

Edit to add the Dolphins.
