Looking at the remaining schedule I see only three more wins....VS Min  At Chi and VS Pitt and I have some doubt about the Pitt game.

The problem is Ravens V2013 play down to their competition .  The way this team looks 3 wins the rest of the way looks optimistic.

In the remaining 8 games, I see 4 that we have a legitimate chance to win.

Bears - Cutler may not play and their pass rush is poor

Vikings - But they have more talent than their 1-7 record indicates and they should have beat Dallas yesterday, foregoing a field goal. (No idea what these NFL coaches are doing)

Steelers - But that is rivalry game even being as down as they are and we literally could not stop them last

Jets  - But if they play like they did vs New Orleans it's hopeless. Gino Smith must make errors.

I'm probably one of the few here who sees absolutely no chance of us making the playoffs. The way we've been playing and continue to play, we'll be lucky if we beat the vikings. Sorry for being a pessimist, but I've given up on this season.

This loss yesterday was a significant blow to our playoff hopes.
Following the steelers loss I believed that we needed to go 7-2, to reach 10-6 and make the playoffs.
The entire NFL is weak, I want to say the AFC is weak but AFC has been beating the NFC in inter conference games for most of the season. So anything can happen.

I'd be a lot more confident if we had played better following a bye week. If we had lost this game but Rice and Pierce combined for 150 yards and that muffed punt was what costed us, I could at least be optimistic that weeks following we could correct one thing and move forward.

Instead the run game looked more inept than ever, Flacco was erratic early on and he was also under pressure often. The defense plays in spurts also. They can look dominate for a quarter sometimes 2 quarters but they give up the big play at the worst time and can make the critical stops late in games.

I don't think the AFC is weak. I think the AFC has great parity. There's true balance right now for the most part. I feel that's why we're struggling as well. I feel like we haven't significantly improved the team in areas and it's causing us to not push to the next level.

(Do not read this as sarcasm okay )
So do you look at parity as everyone is equally as good as one another. Meaning so many teams are good that anyone can win at any time.

Because that can also work reverse. Since parity is only state of being equal. Everyone can be playing equally bad with a few outliers.

It's like how finally this year ESPN, NFLN finally acknowledge the weakness of the NFCEast, but previous five years that division would be hyped up as one of the Top in football. Reality was that McNabb and eagles dominated the division for a few years, Giants have been inconsistent just like the cowboys and redskins except the giants won 2 superbowls. Once eagles stop dominating it became a division up for grabs.

Before the Browns game I was very optimistic that we would be able to somehow turn that thing around. My hope is almost gone now. I don´t see us lighting it up for the rest of the year. There are too many things that does´t work out right now.

Worst running game in the league. Take away flaccos yardage on the ground and look what our running backs produced so far.

Our OLine is very poor. We can´t give our QB time to throw the ball.

If he somehow gets the time our QB throws disgusting balls.

Defense can´t get off the field and lacks the killer instinct of the defenses schemes that we are usually known for.

For me the really only bright spot so far is the play of Marlon Brown. For almost every other player this is just a season to forget.

I love our Ravens to death but right now watching those guys play football just hurts.

I don´t have the answers because I think right know too many things go wrong but something has to change. Otherwise this will be getting much more disappointing...

No. I know where you're going with this but that's not the case. If it was then the NFC would be blowing out the AFC when they play. They're not. The Saints just lost to the Jets. The AFC is good but it's tough. A lot of teams are good.

Your point about jets beating the saints is exactly why in my initial post I said the NFL is weak this year lol. Because the AFC still holds the inter-conference lead over the NFC.

I just feel like overall the quality of play is down, not the entertainment. For me it goes to all these rules and CBA agreements. Teams having limited practices available during the season, limits coaches being able to knock out kinks old fashion way.
All these dumb Goodell rules on tackling along with, the already Peyton manning 5-yard touchin rule ( created because the Colts couldn't pass against Ty Law do to his jams ), the Brady Rule ( because pollard blew his knee out. ) It's all changing the game too much in favor of offenses.

Honestly we shouldn't want the playoffs.  We should want a high draft status and hope Webb, Yanda, Ngata and Rice can get right during the off season.

I suppose if you want to make that argument you can. There's definitely legitimacy to that argument. I wasn't going quite that far but I can see your perspective and may even tend to agree with it. I can't really measure it myself so I like to stick to things I can measure but I can see how that could be the case.

Chi in Chi is no cake walk even w/o Cutler. Bring Cutler into the picture and that could be a huge headache of a game

I had that one as a loss before Cutler went down

I feel the same way.

Last night Ed Reed got called for 15 yards with a completely legitimate break up.  It's just gotten to a point where the referees have taken over, influence the outcome and have changed the game.  There's no way to counter the mistakes they make in regard to Penalties. Defenses cannot be defenses anymore.  If your organization was a traditional tough defensive organization you're done now. And I believe that is what we were. That's what our Administrators still are.

I'm not a supporter of Goodell, nor the owners. The essence of the game has been modified for profit. Which is not to say there wasn't a need to prevent head hunting. There certainly was, but this is ridiculous.

BAL is NOT a bottom 5 team!  Let us evaluate the worst of the worst:

JAC

TB

MIN

NYG

ATL

PIT

HOU

STL

OAK

BUF

Those are 10 of the worst teams in the league.  BAL is hovering above that.

Duhhh, we lost to two of the above teams.

This is laughable to even consider he playoffs. We can't even win a game and are arguably the weakest team in our division. If Cindy beats we will have lost to all 3 of our divisional rivals.

It's time we get flacco some help and some weapons. I realize and am okay with our I line being set and waiting for the growing pains of Gino to subside, but we need to supplant them with better blocking tight ends. In addition flacco needs pitta back and we also need to fin a receiver who can consistently gain separation

If we sweep Cincy, it puts us at a tentative 5-5 with them at 6-5, and the tiebreaker going our way. But I'm not sure if we have a chance if we lose one of those two games and make it 4-6 to 7-4. Sweeping the Bengals seems to be a must. Outside of that, the bulk of our remaining games are at home which is a big plus.

Is it possible to make it to the playoffs, yes?  Is it likely, probably not because this team doesn't know how to win games and they can't fix the issues they've had since week 1

PLAYOFFS? WHAT PLAYOFFS? ARE YOU KIDDING YOURSELVES? REALITY CHECK - WE ARE PLAYING LIKE 8-8 TEAM RIGHT NOW. IF WE KEEP SCORING BELOW 22-23 POINTS IN THESE GAMES WE WILL KEEP LOOSING - THAT'S A GUARANTEE.

Chargers4-4, Jets5-4, Titans4-4, Dolphins4-4, These are the teams with a shot at the 2nd wild card. I think we have a very good chance to make the playoffs...We all know how good this team can be. I'm not writing this team off just yet even though we do look bad. We didn't look to good before the playoffs last year either and look what happened.

I'd like Lovie a lot but isn't he holding out for a head coaching job?

he might, but not getting any until the end of the season; if the nfl was interested in giving him another shot that quick, he would've been on a team already; there's a big upside of being the Ravens' D coordinator, history tells us, plus he'll be seen with different eyes if he'll turn our D mean

this philosophy of "bending" has got our players mindset all wrong; sounds like... we're so afraid about our secondary that the opposing QB will find it easy to make a big play... but from what i've seen in recent games, the teams we played didn't go very often for the big play against us as they liked it more running the clock by "bending" us - runs even for (very) short gains, short slant passed, QB run...

An 8-8 team can make the playoffs, especially in the weak AFC.  Look at KC: you don't need a high-flying offense if your D is good enough.  Flacco and co. just need to stay on the field long enough to give the D a chance to rest.  You're not supposed to post in all caps, btw.

I voted 50/50, so if we passed the Bengals this Sunday, we are in the race for the wild card or even the division.......

I think its unlikely we make the playoffs, but the season is far from over. 8-8 seems probable, but more than anything I am just hoping to see some improvement. This weekend is a big game, and if it results in a win the Division will still be well within reach.
