How hopeful are you that BAL will still make the playoffs?  BAL still hasn't started their season series against CIN and have a home game against PIT, too.  You have to figure that CLE will crash pretty soon, so they shouldn't be a worry.

50/50 if I'm being honest with myself. This division is still weak and injuries have hit the Bengals and the Browns could return to the Browns again.

The whole AFC is pretty weak overall. 8-8 may secure a spot, which is possible at least for the Ravens.

Yeah, I reckon the Browns' bubble will burst pretty soon.  CIN and PIT have a lot of question marks.

If we sweep the Bengals, beat Stoolers and a couple of those NFC North and AFC East teams, we will be in good position. The only way we win make the playoffs is by sweeping AFC North and hoping for the division title. I see the Jets or Chargers taking that last wildcard spot (after Broncos/Chiefs)

Until we lose 7 games, I'm not losing hope.

Let's cheer on our team, people.

Yep.  BAL must capitalize on CIN's vulnerability.  They have a much weaker secondary than CLE now, so it will be make or break for Flacco and the boys.

We haven't even played the division leading Bengals yet. I say the chances are still pretty good we can get the division, let alone make the play-offs.

Pretty much a pipe dream at this point. Without a running game, a tired and un motivated defense will xave

I'd say most players on our D are motivated. But you're correct about being tired.

so ravens have left

Bengals at home (W)
Bears away (W)
Jets at home (W)
Steelers at home (W)
Vikings at home (W)
Lions away (L)
Patriots at home (W)
Bengals away (L)

so I think they'll win 6/8 and go 9-7, I don't know if that will be good enough for the wild card spot though.

Say we go 9-7..

Bengals schedule looks like this:

at Ravens (L)

vs Browns

BYE

at Chargers

vs Colts

at Steelers

vs Vikings

vs Ravens (L)

If we sweep them (5 losses total), we would need them to lose two more games to go 9-7. Colts and Steelers are the only teams I see losses.

I guess we're rebuilding after this.

Ray Lewis was right that we lost too much talent and leadership with the retirements and leaves.

The season is over. Done. Finished. Kaput. There is no way this team can make the run it needs to make in order to make the play-offs. Sure it's still mathematically possible but anyone who is watching this team play has to be able to see that they don't have it in them to do it.

I would never normally write us off as early as Week 9 but this team gives me no other choice. The same frailties that were on display in Weeks 1-3 are still there in Week 9. There has been no development, no improvement. We just keep repeating the same mistakes and playing the same boring way week after week. It causes me actual physical pain watching us try to run the ball this year. It really is THAT bad.

How many times have you seen the following play this year.....................Flacco lines up in the shotgun with Ray Rice beside him in the backfield. Gradkowski snaps the ball to Flacco, Flacco turns to his side and hands the ball off to Ray Rice, Rice runs tentatively into the non-existent hole in the middle of the line and goes down for a 1 yard gain. If I see that play one more time I'm going to gouge my own eyeballs out! It's awful, absolutely awful.

If the team can't show any sign of improvement between Week 1 and Week 9 then it's a bit of a stretch for me to believe that things are suddenly going to click into place from Week 10 onwards. We're done. It's time to sack Juan Castillo, evaluate whether our OC and DC are really the right men for the job and start making plans for 2014. The 2013 Ravens are a busted flush.

There's a chance. All it comes down to is one game to give us a spark, and one game can be won on one big play. We're just waiting for that big play and game to happen. Hopefully, they do.

It sounds tacky and cliche, but one moment CAN change a season.

Based on our record alone and the state of the AFC I would say 50/50.

Considering the state of the team as a whole I think it's probably closer to 25%. I had an expectation that there would be a better product on the field after the bye, but the exact problems surfaced.

Unless there is some kind of miraculous turnaround with the OL and run game, I just don't see it happening. The defense is not good enough unfortunately to win with thus offense.

That'll a tough game for CIN too.  Rivers could really cut into their depleted secondary.  Let's be honest, who do you think would win in a shootout: Rivers or Dalton?

Chargers could play spoilers too at home

Lol, great minds think alike.  See my above post.

Yep you took the words right out my mouth with there defense a bit sore and with some injuries, playing away to san diego who has a good offense I could easily see them beating them.

You must be doing backflip in excitement over Amendola and Gronkowski's return, huh?

I would be thrilled with this team if they just win enough games to get the 2nd Wildcard.  Just show the resolve to get yourself to the dance and build chemistry for next year and I'll be more then happy. It's certainly a "challenge" but as long as we take care of ours things might just play out in our favor. The other wild card contenders aren't the most consistent bunch. Sweeping Cincy would also bring us in striking distance for the division. Just trying to be positive because crazy things always seem to happen when the playoff race heats up. I'm not expecting a dang repeat, just make the playoffs period.

Chargers (4-4) - The favorite because of their offense but they're still inconsistent

Jets (5-4) - Jekyll Hyde syndrome, weak offense (Look who's talking I know lol)

Dolphins (4-4) - Keep in mind they started 3-0, I see them dropping a lot of games in the 2nd half of the season

Browns (4-5) - Don't see them having sustainable long term success this year

Titans (4-4) - One of the more legit WC contenders but we're only a game back from them

Why do you want them to go to the playofffs. They are not a good football team. I know people say the only thing that matters is to get in the tournament, but Ravens right now are not a good enough football team to all the sudden right the wrong in each of the 3 phases. They haven't shown the foundation after 8 games. Better to finish the season such that they could at least have a shot at a top level draft. That's a lot better than making the playoffs just to say they made the playoffs 6 yrs in a row. Who cares about that? It only matters if you win it all and this team needs players that can help them win in 2014, 2015, 2016.

im looking at the big picture

id rather tank and finaly get a superstar player in a position of need ( and there are many) then watch ozzie get a 15-20 pick trade back ..get 2 late 2nd rounders and have everone here say what a genius ozzie is

ozzie has sucked in the draft for a while

Elam ( nope im not being premature, he will be out of the league within 2-3 years)

Jimmy

Kindle

Cody

Doss

Dickson

upshaw

The only guy who hasnt been a dissapointment since 2010 is Torrey Smith and pitta.Compared to other teams...we have not had great drafts. Since 2008 id say we have had among the worst drafts.

WE NEED A CANT MISS TALENT

You don't play to lose unless you're on JAC's level of incompetence.  Losing is a big psychological burden for a team to have to carry into the offseason.

I would be more optimistic about patriots chances if our secondary wasn't dropping like flies. Talib still out, gregory injured now, kelly out, wilfork done for the seaon, mayo done for the season and wilson was done before anything even started. But hey if we can eliminate denver in the playoffs that alone will make me happy.

No such thing.  Ask Ryan Leaf.  A couple of spots in the draft doesn't matter that much, anyway.  If BAL makes the playoffs, then they'll have no better than the 20th pick.  If BAL finishes 7-9, then they'll likely end up with the 14th-16th pick.  By which time, Watkins, Lee and Evans will have already been picked.
