127 posts in this topic

The defense couldn’t get a stop on a critical fourth-and-1, and allowed the Browns to eat up the final minutes.

But of course it wouldn't come down to the defense in crunch time needing to get the ball back in the hands of an under-achieving offense IF our offense did more with the ball in the first place.

Yes Harbaugh the defense could/should get off the field but how about this OFFENSE shouldn't they do something?????

This defense has held every team to 21 points or less except the Broncos and we are 3-5. Your defense can only do so much. It is time the defense gets to sit back and enjoy an easy win. The last time I saw the defense sit back and relax was the season opener against Cincinnati last year.

Im not gonna blow up and blame anyone. Just purely disappointed watching the game today and the team to this point.

This is the first time in awhile I have been more excited thinking about the upcoming draft as opposed to the final 8 games of the season.

No Harbs, the Defense needs to STAY off the field. You need to go back to the power run game and over-rule Castillo's wrecking of our run game. Our defense shouldn't need late-fourth-quarter rallies every friggin' game.

If our offense scores then opposing offenses needs to match us, currently we are chasing other teams 99 % of the time because our offense can't put points on the board. This puts the defense at a severe disadvantage.

GO RAVENS!

Its crazy how the first 5-6 poster on this thread have said exactly the same thing: OFFENSE needs to do MORE. Our defense could get better but they are doing more than enough for most teams in this league to win games. But for some reason we can't even beat the Browns lead by Jason Campbell. lol

Defense does indeed have to get off the field but the offense has got to score and let the defense rest.

Offense was on the field a LOT in the second half and only held the ball for a minute less then Cleveland

Jason Campbell , 116 passer rating. Offense didn't do that

We are letting teams just drive down the field on us at will I just don't understand how the team spent the offseason "revamping" the defense and completely ignore the offense only to get the same defensive production as last year.... If we don't make the playoffs I hope we have a very bad record so we can get some good draft picks

The defense did look horrible at times. Dean Pees is not the guy for this job. I've said it before and I'll say it again. He reminds me of Mattison. Pees needs to go. On the other side of the ball, will someone ask Caldwell if he's heard of a screen. The Browns kept bringing pressure and we kept letting them get to Joe. I watched the entire game and there was not one screen thrown. The playcalling was predictable too. He's becoming like Cam Cameron. We need to be able to make in game adjustments.

So, we just came off a bye and not a single thing improved from before the bye week. Still can't run the ball, still committing dumb penalties, still miscommunicating, still making bad plays on special teams. If we couldn't fix it over the bye it's not going to get fixed. I'm now accepting the possibility of us going 6-10 this year. It will make it less painful when it actually happens.

Defense can't get a stop because they are tired. They are tired because the offense can only get 3 and outs in the first half and they are on the field way too long. Fix that and you fix the defense.

I can agree with you on that but where are the scores they are supposed to be putting up on the scoreboard?

Defense does indeed have to get off the field but the offense has got to score and let the defense rest.

TOP:

GB: 31:03 Ravens 28:57 Of course, this includes the defense NOT getting off the field and letting GB hold the ball for 7:35 while scoring a FG. So we actually LED for TOP at that point.

Steelers : 31:01 Ravens 28:59 Of course this includes, never mind. This part doesn't matter in this game because the defense NEVER got off the field the entire game. The Steelers punted ONCE on their opening possession and never again.

Browns: 30:50  Ravens 29:10 Of course this includes the clock eating 6:44 second scoring drive the defense allowed. Again, we led TOP up until that point.

Our defense is so tired why? Other than the Steeler game where they were probably tired from letting the Steelers hold the ball for 8 minute drives all game.

No, Harbaugh! I've had absolutely enough of you protecting your buddies!

Rushing game needs to be created because, make no mistake about it, at the moment we have absolutely none! First step for creating one has to be firing your ol' pal Castillo! Until then, absolutely NOTHING is going to change!

Blaming your poor, subjective coaching decisions on defense is pathetic!!!

So what the defense doesn't get off the field, how can they get off the field when the offense doesn't produce and get first downs. You have to score points to win at the end of the day and Flacco and the offense look anemic, every team is sticking 8 in the box to stop Ray Rice and the running game because they know Flacco can't beat them

The bottom line is the defense still holds most teams to 2 tds or less.If that hurry up offense didn,t fail in 1 minute drives, the defense would be fresh by the 4th.

It used to be we would stand a good chance of scoring points with our defense ON the field. Not anymore. This defense doesn't create turnovers. And neither can they stay away from inopportune penalties.

"The defense has failed to get opponents off the field late in games to give Joe Flacco and the offense opportunities to mount fourth-quarter comebacks."

The offense should not be in that kind of situation in the first place!!!!

Is it just me or the Ravens should play MUCH better than they have? They have good pass rushers, but it looked like Campbell had all day long every time it mattered. We have two good RBs, but can't even run for 50 yds in a game. Our QB is good and we have some nice pass catchers. We move the ball almost at will some times. But completely stall other times. Something is very wrong...

Let me put it this way,It's really not all Joe Flacco's fault,I mean even if Rothlistbuger, Brady or even Peyton Manning was the Raven's QB they still wouldn't even be able to bring some life to the offense,The offense sucks, Yes the defense has to get off the field but if Flacco can't put 30 fricken points on the board then all is lost, we just might as well call it a season,I've been saying that all season. With the exception of the Bronco's which whipped our butts all our loss were by 3 points and we were behind by a touchdown today
