[News] Game Recap: Browns 24, Ravens 18

Another garbage day for our 100 million dollar man. If he can't outplay an aging journeyman qb, what hope is left for this season? Say 10-6 gets us to the playoffs. Does anyone with half a brain think we can go 7-1 the rest of the way? This ENTIRE season hinged on Joe Flacco. It matters little that we have no run game or a bad offensive line. Top qbs do more with less. All our games were winnable except perhaps the Denver game if number 5 played up to his potential. I really hate to say this, but has Joe reached his ceiling in last years title run? Prove me wrong for crying out loud number 5

Ravens aren't going anywhere if they can't get the front line to open holes for Ray Rice.  Also, crucial mistakes (Doss dropping a punted ball = 7 Cleveland points given as a gift) are really hurting us.  When we didn't go for it on 4th down with 6 minutes left on the clock... I was worried about another Green Bay game... just needed to get Cleveland off the field.  Couldn't get it done.  We also only needed to kick a field goal to tie it.  Should have gone for it on 4th down... Cleveland did, and they won.

One simple question: why can't we sustain a single drive in the first half in 3 games????
quit the obvious runs in the middle and throw quick passes.

The o-line failed once again and Sloppy joe was just Joe again. The media has pointed out that the leader of the team, can not lead!

Its painful, its frustrating. But on the positive, there was some momentum at times. To go an entire game without conversions would have been awful. Glass is half full thank you very much. More work to do? Yes. More to study on "whats working/whats not" during this week by the Ravens team and coaching staff? Yes. A new shot at it against Cincinnati next Sunday? A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y. Things could be better, but, things could be worse. Take what you got and build with it.

Yeah...I disagree with pretty much all of this. Momentum is useless unless it has results. More work? There's been work to do the entire season, but every game looks like a carbon copy of the one before it, with the same mistakes, the same poor playcalling, the same missed opportunities, and the same paper-thin O-line and secondary.

Mathematically, things could be worse. Realistically, this team is showing ZERO signs of improvement, from coaching to playcalling to blocking to execution.

BTW, this is not Flacco's fault.

Offensive line isn't getting it done.

Hurting our rushing game (non-existent), and too much pressure on Flacco.

I am absolutely disappointed in every loss besides the dreaded season opener. All of them were winnable games, but what has disappointed more is......our lack of run game. You can blame everything from the O-Line to Obama Care at the end of the day...stars/leaders make something out of nothing and pave the way. You can blame Flacco all day, but when your offense is "one dimensional" (no run threat) you caN expect the Loss column to pile up quick in the NFL

nobody is really running the ball either when they play against our team how can u say we need a better running game if u never played as a RB in the nfl be specific give them ideas on how u think they should run the ball

My butt puckers up so tight every time I see a rush that you couldn't pull a nail out of it. Working on rush blocking must be priority number one or this team is going nowhere this season.

we pretty much suck....Best blocking FB in the league, and he isn't in to lead block...We continued with the lame zone blocking scheme...We deserve the loss...

We are an average football team. We can't pull through in the clutch, nothing really screams exceptional out there on our offense except Torrey's play and Marlon Brown's emergence. I feel like our defense looks great up until crunch time, we seem to lose focus just looking for the big play. Maybe we really did lose something when we lost Ray and Ed, we're missing the "it" factor.

Well, it is time we came to our senses and realize we are not going to have a good season this year. It hurts because the signals we received right through were that we were just as good if not better. However, I am reconciled now after watching us get beat by two losing franchises back to back, not to mention division opponents.

If after preparing for 2 weeks and being healthy and well rested, we cannot figure out a way to beat the Browns, then we are really poor at coaching and game planning. That is simply the truth. We are being out coached and out maneuvered in most games. So, let us at least try to get a top draft pick for a change. God knows we have some talent that needs to come in. We have lost a lot of talent on our roster lately.

I think we need to clean house of some average coaches and try to hire great and aggressive young minds. We will be right to get rid of some coordinators mid season if we can and see if we can lure a Lovie Smith out of retirement to take over our defense. We need an infusion of new thinking ASAP. We are too predictable on offense and way to slow to catch up on defense. As for our ST it is just meh!

Its been pointed out that the o-line can,t adjust to Juan Castillo blocking scheme. To make things even worst, they run a hurry offense that kills our defense.

I think your perception of what the FO did this offseason is way off. I saw practically nothing that the FO did to give Joe a better shot to succeed offensively in 2013. They spent their entire offseason gutting and attempting to fill holes in the defense, and they let his #1 WR go and his TE gets injured in the offseason, which the FO then fills with journeyman players who have nothing left.

Explain to me how the FO put Flacco in a position to succeed in 2013? I'm not saying they aren't building a product to make sure he succeeds in future years, but I've seen nothing from them to suggest that they expected Flacco to become Rodgers in a single offseason. That's not what you pay a guy $60m guaranteed for (the phantom $120m is a farce, its not real).

The reality is... everything that was supposed to be a perceived strength of this team is pretty much its weakness. If there were two things I thought we would be able to do this season, it was run the ball and protect the QB. We can do neither with any sort of consistency, and most times we can't do either at all.

This team is absolutely done for the year, the way they are playing and that there was no change out of the bye week at all means the team will be lucky to a see 8-8 or 7-9 record for the season. They made some really bad off-season moves that negates the good ones. Boldin still tops the list and it's funny catching Joe's post game conference about not converting potential scoring drives. What did Boldin do best for this team? Convert plays when needed & get you into scoring range, and often was the Security blanket for everything. Say what you want but the stats don't quite tell everything.

Now on the final play we needed 60 yards & a TD but we check down to arguably the worst player on our offense this year Ray Rice for 10 yards. Throw the hail-mary it gives you a much better shot than you have with a worn out and injured Ray Rice. A San Diego style 4th & 29 diddle-diddle play wasn't going to be enough with only 5 seconds on the clock on top of that. The game was out of reach and basically done but still you get the point.

I love the Ravens & I think they will be back to greatness within the next couple of years. Division's change each year a great divsion this year could be the worst next year. NFC East? must I say any more.

THIS is what we get with a week off??
Looked like the guys were playing corn hole all week and maybe going over a couple plays on Madden at best.
Embarrassing.
Joe sucked tonight.
Lil Ray has a problem. He goes down even when he's not touched.
I love the little guy but he hasn't looked the same since the first half of last year.
I think he misses Big Ray and it's effecting his game.

Coaching is also a big question mark.
I knew we would drop a little after losing so many top tier players but I never dreamed we would drop as bad as we have.

Definitely no SB this year and probably no playoffs either.
I guess we just build on what we have this year for next and keep using these Sundays for practice.

singin1, I was thinking the exact same thing about Flacco not looking at snapshots of the defense's formation and location of defensive backs on certain plays. And he does look out of it sometimes when they show him on the sidelines...no emotions. Sometimes coolness can be a detriment to a team. We need emotions...someone to get fired up on the sideline. the only 1s I saw trying to make a difference was Marlon Brown and Torrey Smith, Doss, and Joe sometimes. But Joe needs to work more on his pocket-awareness. I didn't see any screen plays or flea flickers or any gadget plays at all. The Browns brought their "A" game, we didn't.

Another game, too little too late. I almost feel like running the ball is a waste of a down. Harbaugh once again has no clue how to use his timeouts. It sucked that our defense couldn't stop Jason Campbell on the last drive until the clock was gone. The strength of this team is the WR core. Keep getting the ball in their hands and they will make plays. It looks like Ozzie will have a good chance to draft a Pro Bowler this April.
