Let see the defense gives up 7 points in the third on what a 12 yard drive? ???? They give up 3 points in the forth but the defense sucks?? LOL

Flacco gets a pass on soiling himself the whole first half???

Same old stuff.

From who? Funny to see Joe Flacco's name dragged out in a thread about poor defensive play.

Check out Campbell's QB rating and then tell me how well our defense played.

Funny thing when I talk about Flacco's  horrid QB rating I get told the stat is meaningless.  LOL... Move those goalposts.

We've made every QB we've played look like a world beater this year

The Ravens lose the TOP battle almost every game. There's still some age on that defense. They were gassed.

I'd say your argument that Flacco was going to turn it on in his 6th season has been proven null and void.

This is a defense thread. Stop trying to spin it towards your personal agenda against him.

flacco did soil himself in the first half, but this isn't about flacco, this is about the defense that three games in a row had a chance to get a stop to give our team a chance we arguably haven't deserved to win three games, acne they soiled themselves

There is more players than our qb on this team.

all three of us reply with the same premise. It's the same old stuff from hardbaugh making everything about flacco

It's called cause and effect.

Defense gave up a total of 10 points in the 2nd half. 7 off a 12 yard drive. Trying to attach blame for this loss to the defense is a poor tactic IMO.

Glad some people are finally seeing it. The defense sucks.

Not really. We've seen this act before. I think it was the 2005 Ravens. They held the fort down in most games but then would come up short because Boller/Billick/Cavanaugh would wait until the team was down by a score with 8 mins to go in the 4th before they start dialing up "aggressive" or aggressive like plays.

What exactly did the offense do today to sustain drives? Even if the defense shut them down, from where do you gain all this conviction that the offense was going to march down the field and score?????

Lest we forget they scored points on the silly muffed point.....

if flacco throws 500 yards 3 tds then a pick in the endzone in the go ahead drive with 15 seconds left on the clock who do you blame?

The defense is un clutch, I don't care what they've done prior to that, they Need to get a stop when it matters

we are done,,until our COACHES step up and act like they are coaches in the NFL then it does not matter, yes flacco again had a bad game the run game is way off the defense that for the most part is pretty good but they are not clutch, but their problem is play calling. why we don't have a game plan, if we do it SUCKS, we need major adjustment, in game time

TRUTH. Hard to get a victory with 18 points in an NFL game.

One thread blames the HC. Another thread blames the run game. Another thread blames the run game coordinator. Meanwhile the defense only gives up on avg 17 points a game and peeps point the finger at them.

Next week, actually, I just might start a Special Teams Needs to Start Forcing Fumbles thread this week! That way everyone can weigh in from that angle to.

the team as a whole was bad again, but the defense has had three chances to man up and get a stop and failed. So, they don't deserve criticism? Everything is fine and dandy huh? Better than the 2000 defense I guess.
Most un clutch defense I've ever seen. I don't care what happens for three and a half quarters. The last three losses all we needed was a stop and they failed. Pathetic.
This!!!!

Minus flacco, our whole offseason was geared to fixing this d, we cut boldin to sign guys, we drafted three defenses players with our first three picks. We geared out offseason to fix this d, and it's failing when it matters most, crunch time

No - they can get some. But not to the extent that they deserve a thread of shame. Criticism is not the same as blame.

Like I alluded to before - from where does all this conviction that the offense would have scored come from when we watched them find the endzone only 2 times today. We have seen 8 Ravens games this season. Which game convinced you that this team can be an above average offense?

Unless it's against the Browns with a 3rd string 32 YO journeyman QB behind center. :p

Last year when the Ravens lost to a mediocre Steelers team starting Charlie Batch, at least it was still the Steelers...

Yeah and that 12 yard drive was due to excellent field position that was Tandon Doss's fault, not Joe Flacco's fault. You mention a twelve yard drive disparagingly about Flacco, but it wasn't Flacco's fault. What could Flacco have done better in the second half? He ran for his life, he extended plays, he evaded the pass rush, he scrambled for first downs, he moved the chains when we could, he made no mistakes, and he was on target. He played a brilliant half of football, marred by awful running game, penalties, terrible special teams, and soft defense that wouldn't get Flacco back onto the field.

When you enter half time with a 1 score game, there is plenty opportunity to win. Then when you come out and play as well as Flacco did in the second half, but the run game, special teams, pass blocking, and defense are all as soft as ours were, you just can't blame Flacco for that loss. You can't.

The nfl is a passing league all the rules are slanted towards the offense every team today except for buffalo scored more than 20 points so the ravens defense was good enough to win every game today but two.

It seems maybe we went a little overboard trying to fix the defensive issues and didn't pay enough attention to our offensive liabilities on the Oline ,,etc. It appears this was a big mistake now.

The fact that we have this much talent and suck this much speaks mountains. It's the coaching.

We have 2 stud pass rushers, and good talent all around how are we failing?

you know arnie, what people forget? it's that this game is played by two teams! and that the other team should have all the metrics of the "bending" Ravens D and when playing us and holding an advantage late in the game, just push us to the edges that very slowly to eat up all the clock and keep our offense out of the game... there should be some metrics to complete the circle and say the Ravens offense warms up as the game goes on (like outscoring opponents in the 4th for example).. i just wander when the special teams are going to warm up this season...

ps: funny stat - KC offense scored 9 points yesterday, the Bills scored 13... and the KC defense scored some 14 points

Ive seen what a similar unit did under Pagano.  I think we have more talent then when he was the DC.  I cant understand the horrible defense with all this talent.  All you have to do is give Elam help on defense.

If there are five down all five are coming.  We are so predictable.  Zone defense for the majority of the snaps is a way to get beat every week.  Players love to play in man.  It leaves them less to think about.

Just getting driven on in the 4th quarter - almost every game. Every game in recent weeks, definitely.

More Brandon Williams should help minimize this. Everybody left on our schedule should get a healthy dose of that guy

Hope so. He's looked good and once the game slows down for Brown and Elam they will be making plays, too.
