The official _______ sucks, Cut_______ Week 9 Melt Thread-- even though the team won!

No, I haven't so perhaps that's true. I have no idea about it so I can't speak on that. But Reed did put guys into position and we are absolutely missing that. I don't think Daryl Smith is putting guys into position like Ray did. Granted, Ray is Ray. I know that. I just think perhaps we should change the green dot. I'd even give it to McClain and I'm not his biggest fan. Our communication is very poor and the guys have no fight

Yeah Ihedigbo's actually a very strong leader.  He's apparently second in line behind Suggs as a D leader from what I've heard.  But yeah, it's hard not having Reed.  Despite his poor play, he commanded respect back there.

First two rush attempts of the game: 5 yards each for 10 yards.
The rest of the game, our running backs had 16 carries for 20 yards, barely getting a yard per carry.

What were Flacco's rushing yard totals?

Im not saying it is but you definitely  have fans right now  believing its over for the team , there is no hope, they can't get better, cut ray rice, and so much more which in something I refuse to accept or think.

Or maybe some of us are fed up with the blind optimism people have been spewing since a month after the Super Bowl when they traded Boldin and cut Pollard. "Pitta can do everything that Boldin could!". Yeah he could. Too bad he got injured. "Oh Pollard wasn't even that good!" Well guess what? Hes still better than Elam (so far). "Michael Huff can replace Ed Reed" You mean the guy who was benched week 1 after being part of a secondary that allowed 7 passing TDs? (Not to mention he isn't even on the team anymore). "Bryant McKinnie is the problem with the O-line, not the zone scheme" He's looked pretty good the last 2 weeks in Miami when they almost beat New England AND THEN beat Cincinatti. If our line continues to struggle next week against the Bengals then we'll see that was wrong too.

The purpose of this thread is to let off steam. Coming here to contradict it is almost trolling.

Running backs today...
First half: 9 carries for 16 yards.
2nd Half: 9 carries for 14 yards.

Brilliant.

This makes me so sad. Even though Ray Rice is not himself he'd still be serviceable if the OL gave us anything.

I really think we will be ok … maybe that`s not our year… there are a lot of changes in our team this year … I know it`s hard for the fans but sometimes you just need one or two years to reload and get everyone in the right place!

we need no cuts and no one needs to be fired these guys on here talking about fire somebody and they never worked a day in the life as a coach in the nfl if you not calling plays and being specfic on what we need to change instead of saying fire everyone be quiet because u know none because i dont see u working in the nfl!

I think you have to look to the coaches at this point.  No shake up in players is going to change anything.  I don't see a FA out there that would improve this team.

I'm generally optimistic, but I just don't see how we fix things now without major changes.

I don't see how the O line can be fixed with the guys we have.

RR is playing like the Elvis of RBs, missing holes, terrible footwork, falling before he is hit, etc. He needs to sit for a while maybe that will help, don't know.

In the first half today our D allowed three easy passing TDs and a lot of yards. But they actually were playing with passion for a while in the 2nd half. But, once again, they folded when the game was on the line allowing a clock eating drive. I don't know how you fix that quickly.

We don't suck, but we suck. frustrating........

just short again for the 4th time this year.

we're keeping the game close.    but it was pretty evident there were miscues everywhere @ this game.   players didn't do their job.

i don't understand how the whole offense can play two entirely different halves. Night and day difference. Does the gameplan change or what happens at half time. Every game we actually play in the second half. Flacco was horrid in the first half

Pitta needs to placed on complete IR. Don't push that guy to return to this team early risk re-injury for this type of play.

If a team with 8 games to play is thinking that way they shouldn't be in the NFL.

I'm not saying they should bring Dennis back, but it's too early for that decision.

Same for Doss on the droped Punt , or on Player-X on the X-3rd down... they just lost this one as a team!

They are not franchise qb's

Not guys. Guy. Singular. The only guy we need to get rid of for this whole mess to go away is Juan Castillo.

What I'm saying is that we need a change.  A new front office and a new coach. That's right, a new coach too. If we are rebuilding, lets not retain the guys that made drastic changes to undo the team.

Pittsburgh is clearly in the same boat. We want to come out of this in a couple years with new blood and a new vision.

Ozzie has been great for us, but its time.

how do you even make sense if you got the sanfransico coach as your profile pick

I think Kerry Rhodes would but for some reason no NFL team wants him so perhaps there's good reason.

That could be an issue, but I just don't see any fight in any of them. They get pushed around on every play.

right now we are more likely to fall flat on our face and getter blown out. But I'll still believe and predict a win, like always. We just need to fight and show some passion in our play

Mhhh if I had to pick a unit that really need changes i agree with the people who say it`s the OL!

For the Draft I would add a WR and a TE to the mix ...

Last year's Suggs could do it. But for whatever reason, if you haven't noticed, he got quiet this season.

We aren't missing Pollard. He struggled in coverage, it was his weak point and still is. Plus, he not only got "some dumb penalties" he is the 4th on the list for the most personal fouls in the entire NFL since 2005. It's bad enough they are now making up personal fouls to call on us without Pollard actually giving them some.

Ultimately, a team lacking spirit, fight and fire points to a coaching problem, not a player problem.

yes coaches are suppose  to help there team when it comes to spirit, fight and fire but at times having a player to provide the same can help a lot. A coach is suppose to help lead his team but  it's nothing like having another player help do the same because this is player that's on the same field as you,  working hard just as you, in the same study room as you and more .

We have one giant issue, run blocking. Our backs and (most) of our O-line have the talent. We know the lack of production is not that Rice is getting old because BP is doing just as bad. We also know that its not (completely) because of our O-line talent because Yanda is underperforming. Our backs and (most) of our O-line have the talent.

SO, imo it comes down to run blocking because pass protection has been OK. I dont know whether its the new scheme, coaching, or lack of motivation (did see Yanda give up on a few plays). But it needs to be fixed!

Also! Anybody notice that Leach hardly played at all!? Give the backs a lead blocker!

Apparently he's not interested in playing for any less than $4M.  He's content with retiring.

5 of 8 at home, and home next week. It's a must win, so let's see how they react.
