This team has barely beaten the Jason Campbell Browns, the Case Keenum Texans, and the Ryan Fitzpatrick Titans. My friend has them losing to the Thad Lewis Bills tomorrow. I'm not sure if that will happen but certainly it'll be close.

While their defense, I admit, is pretty scary, their offense has been putrid at times.

Their biggest accomplishment of the season was beating the Dallas Cowboys by one point.

They have yet to play a team with a winning record

Here has been their schedule thus far:

Somebody sounds salty.

I remember when the Seahawks went 14-2. I thought they had a weak schedule, but they still went 14-2. Bears and Colts had a pretty weak path to Super Bowl 41 or whatever it was. Ravens could very well be 6-1....and not just because we thought they'd be AT LEAST 6-1 on paper, but because 3 of their losses were by a combined 8 points.

They still gotta line up and play. Keep in mind that they are learning how to win close games, and they are building moxy. I think that's what happened with that Seattle team - all confidence. I don't even think I remember who their receivers or TEs were. =(

They had Bobby Engram/Koren Robinson/Darell Jackson at WR, and Jerramy Stevans at TE. So while not exactly what you'd call flashy, for the time period we're talking about (before all the passing attacks truly took off), they were still pretty solid.

As for the Chiefs.. no one knows that question. No one knows if they'll rise to the occasion depending on the opponent they are playing, or if they'll fall flat on their face when they face supposedly superior opponents. All it takes is one win against the Broncos, and people will be considering an unbeaten team underrated, not overrated.

Seahawks have never gone 14-2 in franchise history...

The question is are they worst 8-0 team ever

The only 8-0 team in there at any point was the 2006 Colts and I personally think they were a lot better than 2013 Chiefs

Raiders fan hating on KC....?

Sorry. Seahawks were 13-3 the year they went to the Superbowl. I'm not suggesting either were 8-0. The point is, the objective is to beat the team that lines up opposite of you. Doesn't matter if you play Jax every week. If you play Jax or Tampa Bay every week, you better win.

No real reason to say they are an awful 8-0 team. The 16-0 Pats team didn't play defense as well as this Chiefs team and their special teams was their achilles heel. Who are the other 8-0 teams you'd like to compare this Chiefs team to? Pretty sure they will punch most other 8-0 teams in the mouth with this defense. It's pretty much the same defense that beat the 14-0 Packers. The Pats 2011 AFC Conf Champion Pats didn't play a team with a winning record all season with the exception of the Ravens so your point about having to beat a team with a winning record is really moot and irrelevant.

btw - Browns are a SOLID team.

Obviously there is no such thing as an awful 8-0 team

And I'm not hating on KC

Notice how I'm not calling the Broncos overrated....

Here is a quest for you

Find another 8-0 team in NFL History who were worse than KC

It's not that they are BARELY beating losing teams...

It's the fact that the QBs of these teams are their BACKUPS

Define BACKUPS. Seriously. Just pointing out the reality for the teams in question - there isn't separation between their QBs like Flacco vs Taylor or Brady vs Mallett. We'd like to think that's the case for the Texans especially but that's not the case at all and just maybe Keenum was behind Schaub because he doesn't have a $15m salary. I'm not going to suggest Fitzpatrick is close to Locker, but Fitzpatrick did hold a starting job for some time prior to this season. And let's be frank - is Jason Campbell really less than Brandon Weeden? Or is that yet another case of NFL politics where you can't draft a guy #1 and sit him on the bench until you really realize that your #1 guy is a #1 dud. That Browns team should have never come out of training camp with the QB Depth Chart that they had.

To officially answer your question....perhaps they are on the lower end of the previous 8-0 teams AT THIS POINT of the season. Perhaps they are close to the middle. I think they could have beat any of the Indy teams that ultimately lost in the playoffs. Plus they beat the 2011 Pack

Don't really understand the bolded part here. Are you saying the only team to go 8-0 were the 2006 Colts? Because that's clearly not the case.

Defense is lethal. Running game is great. QB who doesn't turn it over.

They're legit, but they don't scare me as much as Denver or Indy.

I've noticed they've had trouble against newer QB's. Not that those QB's are good but they probably didn't have much film on them.

I think we all realize that KC isn't a powerhouse. The D is one of the best in the league but Alex Smith is too limited. They're not a Super Bowl threat but definitely a playoff contender.

Alex Smith was a couple minutes away from the SB before Eli scored the final blow back in 2011.

That San Fran team was pretty stacked and playing at home. KC is good too, but they'll be on the road after losing the division to Denver.

Here is an experts analysis on this upcoming game

Chiefs vs Bills

Are the Chiefs serious? Another game where they are playing another back up? And not just that, another game where they played the back up OF THE BACK UP. WHAT?! Everything is going right for this team. EVERYTHING. No Thad Lewis this week which means Jeff Tuel or Matt Flynn, but it is believed to be Tuel who knows the playbook over the newly signed Flynn. Wow. And even then, this pick will surprise some. Bills are going to win this game. Here me out. Before last weeks game against the Browns, the Chiefs were 21st in run defense. Then the Browns came in with their lack of rushing and dropped the Chiefs rush d to 10th. But that is the flaw in this defense: the running defense. That’s why I think the Bills will win. Both Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller are expected to play in this game. A duo like that might be able to propel them over the Chiefs. Oh, did I mention the Chiefs have gone winless in Buffalo since 1986? Yeah. I’ll make a bold statement.

BTW I disagree that the Bills will win however

That's a big assumption, especially after the way DEN went down in IND.  We can't forget SD either, their team is really clicking.

No, I really don't think it's a big assumption. But I guess we'll learn soon anyway.

Remind me who the AFC West leader's been for the past couple weeks?  Unless DEN sweeps KC, that's unlikely to change.

I remember people calling the 2012 Ravens the worst 9-2 team, they have ever seen. And how did that end again?

That Ravens team actually had a very nice offense

To go along with a good defense

So none of the current standings are gonna change by week 17?

Sure. We won, because Flacco went on the greatest playoff run in NFL history, but that KC defense is waaaaaay better than ours was in 2012. They don't need a great offense. Alex Smith rarely turns the ball over and they have a running game, that is as good as ours was a year ago.
