WR Justin Blackmon Suspended... Again

22 posts in this topic

Jaguars announce WR Justin Blackmon has been suspended indefinitely for violating substance abuse policy. Was suspended Weeks 1-4, also.

Will this guy ever learn?  He was showing so much potential and he just blew his chance.

That's unfortunate. While I'd like to call him an IDIOT, perhaps I just need to keep it at unfortunate and just think good thoughts for him. Sounds like he may need help.

It's a darn good thing no one in my ESPN Fantasy League took me up on my trade offer.

I have Blackmon and Josh Gordon. Fitzgerald and Amendola (as well as whoever yielded the best offer between Jordan Cameron and Vernon Davis) were starting to look very expendable.

It's becoming comical at this point...

He has so much talent yet he is wasting it.

Easy easy...unless of course you speak from experience of a substance abuser. People are so quick to ignore that part of it. Granted, we don't know what the substance is and if it's the same substance as what he was suspended for. Now if it comes out that he was puffing the haze, then it's pretty darn dumb cause all the other players that do find a way to put a lid on it after they get in trouble...(most). I saw Robert Smith on First Take today talking about his alcohol problem. Had no idea he dealt with that. Not that I have either, but pretty sure it's a process to realize you even have an "issue"

so easy to say. perhaps the guy hasn't even gotten to the point of wondering if he has a problem or not before he can even get to the point of realizing and admitting it

It's being reported that he's already received counseling and relapsed, for what it's worth.

Sounds like he has a problem then. I can't shake my head or yell at a guy who has a problem like that. It's a vice...

Brandishing firearms and getting involved in gang related activity is a different story...

I'm not yelling at him, but I'm disappointed. The same way I look at all these guys that are repeat offenders, it's disappointing.

That's what playing for the Jags does to a guy

Oh look who's talking. Daunte Culpepper, Warren Sapp, Randy Moss, the Maryland kid all went and disappeared in the Black Hole...

The only one who made something of himself there was Tyrone Wheatley

We still have the same record as you do

And are you forgetting Jim Plunkett? Guy was considered a bust when he arrived here...

Man another blown pick for the Jags, Gabbert  was a top 10-15 pick and Blackmon was a top 10 pick. No wonder that team is just unmanageable. Guess Blackmon can still change, but he has to want it, and I don't think he wants it. What a shame.
