Week 9 - Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns

2,670 posts in this topic

OK positives from this game there are some :

no more stories on we haven't lost to such and sch, we haven't lost after a bye we have broken all of those none left.

Marlon brown is a legit reciever. He is a number two Jones is not don't care that he's a fan favorite it is what it is .

Thomspon another bright spot . Torrey smith is still doing exceptionally well. Doss is Boss at returns regardless of the fumble .

Joe Flacco did a good job .

Well, I guess you have to look at this as a rebuilding / fine-tuning year after losing some of the players we had last season.

If we couldn't beat Cleveland then the Bengals could be even more difficult to beat, so it might be a long time between wins since we lost 3 in a row along with a bye week and might lose next week.

But hey, look on the bright side, how many relatively new football teams can say they won 2 superbowls already !

Joe can't see a LB coming right in front of him in his face, what makes you think he can see the rest of the field. He stood there and the guy came straight at him, not from the blind side or anything. He could have gotten rid of the ball, but instead took a sack. Then all I heard all day was how he wasn't putting passes where the needed to be. He's getting mad at receivers not catching the ball, but it's hard when you don't put it where they can catch it, or the other team is thrown the ball.

You're in la-la-land. When a delayed blitzes come up the middle unblocked, you think he should start winding up to throw? That's how turnovers happen. He threw a couple balls behind receivers in the first quarter and wasn't fully on target into the second quarter, but the entire team was out of sync, and those plays didn't cost us this game. What cost us the game were the 20 or so plays that the offensive line didn't protect him even one iota and he was running for his life or getting sacked by unblocked pass rushers. In the second half of this game, Flacco was about as good as it is possible to be. No joke. What the game again. He was brilliant. Rolling out, extending plays, scrambling for first downs, finding every receiver he could, and some of those incompletions in the second pass were just strait up drops. He was going to get us this win, but the offensive line had something to say about that, forcing a punt with 7 minutes and 3 timeouts left, and then the defense didn't get us back onto the field until there was only 14 seconds and no timeouts left. Setting Joe up to fail. I say it again.... He was brilliant in the second half, and the only player on this team who truly came to play (and Marlon Brown, too, actually) after half time. When you enter half time with the game within one score, your team is still in a great position to win. And then when you play brilliantly in that second half while your team lets you down in terms of protecting you from the pass rush, in terms of the running backs getting stuffed on every play, in terms of the defense not getting you back on the field, in terms of the special teams giving the ball back to the opponent in their own red zone, or just setting up unfavorable field positions all game long... That means you're the absolute 100% least reason for the team's loss.

The hell else do you want him to say? Christ.

Why do I bother? Nothing but idiocy and negativity in the game thread and its usual inhabitants anyway

Ozzie has a lot of work to do...It looks like he overpaid the wrong guys ESPECIALLY Webb and Ngata....Im really not mad at Joe, he literally has the worst running game since the NFL merger

The huge disappointment for me this game was I actually bought into the rumors that we were abandoning that blocking  scheme . they really didn't . the hilarious part of that is Russell street report who is dubious when reporting accurately was spot on. they said nothing had changed and we wouldn't abandon the new scheme . ,I thought better of John then that .

If we were playing for just one Superbowl run, we got that last year....I'd rather be a bad team with a New Head Coach and staff, maybe even a new GM...I Cant trust in Ozzie when he signed Marcus Spears, Huff over Anquan Boldin, and ended up cutting them last week....That's crazy SMH

This is not a good team this year and even worse is the coaching, every set of downs is pass run pass. We make it so easy for defenses. Also tired of this "we gotta' run the ball" crap. We can't run, so move on and become pass heavy. Start looking ahead to next year, play the young guys across the board to get them experience. Playoffs are out of sight now.

Why are people arguing about the timeout before the two min warning? What have I missed

Calling one on 2:05 left seemed really stupid. Instead of 14 we could have had a minute+ for the last drive.

It is and we will have to deal with it for the next 2 years got this feeling were rebuilding with Joe as our center peice

Then it seems to me we should really start getting pieces where he can be successful. Since we will end up with a top 10 draft pick most likely maybe Sammy Watkins is not out of the question and can scoop up Brandon Coleman in the second. Or trade down and reload on a bunch of draft picks or something. In any event if he is to be the centerpiece this nickel and dime approach to getting this offense together is not working

Oh stop it!

Defense sucks.

GB just need a stop. Fail.

Steelers just need a stop. Fail.

Today, just need a stop. Fail.

3 of our 5 losses belong to the defense.

1 belongs to our entire team.

1 belongs to the offense.

Our defense sucks but if our offense could score in the first half or not go 3 and out 100x per game we wouldn't be in those positions.

Our offensive line is easily the most at fault for our piss poor performance this season.

Our offense had one 3 and out the entire game in Pittsburgh. And it was our first offensive series.

The Steelers had one PUNT the entire game. It was also on their first offensive series.

Defense -- FAIL.

Our offense led TOP in the first half in GB.

The third quarter was 50/50.

We needed one stop. Get the ball back.

Couldn't do it.

FAIL.

Our defense let the Browns take the early lead. Let them march down the field and score a TD with ease.

Then they did it again.

If they were tired after the one 3 and out the offense had between those scores then they shouldn't even be playing in the NFL.

Once again though - just needed one stop. FAIL.

Our offense got us to within one score in each one of those games with plenty of time left and the defense failed to get off the field. Shoot we tied the Steelers game and the defense couldn't get off the field to even get us to OT.

Ravens would be stupid as hell to trade the best QB they have ever had...this game isnt on him. At lease not by himself.

Saying Joe is the best qb they ever had is really not saying much... the Ravens have had only one other qb that was remotely good and that was an often injured Steve Mcnair... other than that there hasn't been one qb on the former rosters that were good enough to start for anybody. So let's ride Flaccos contract out Ham stringed as bad as we are not make the playoffs next year cut all the defensive players like ngata and Suggs that are major salary cap casualties and give the offense to Flacco and let him prove he deserves the money... oh but wait we kind of have been doing that now and its not working to well for us is it. Don't blame everything on the line Flacco hasn't been the same without Pitta or Boldin kinda makes you think did they make him as the qb or did he make them the wr te they are.

I think that Muffed punt by Doss, really hurt us.  Momentum was on our side at that point and the D just stopped them and then they get the ball back even closer to the endzone.

no one mentioned Oher getting abused all game either

Dont forget how Rice cant block to save his life. ( Im done with Rice, i have been for a while now) He shows no intensity or Effort.)

And is it me or has anyone else noticed Rice is scared of these D lineman. Too many times ive seen him Jump on the ground and let the D lineman just step over him. I know he is small but that isnt helping Flacco.

Also, seems like it took Flacco half the game to start throwing Accurate balls. The first few drives Were Flaccos fault ( not all but it was big part) in the beginning but then it becames the O line.

If the team skids for the rest of the year , another negative is the 4th and 5th sent to Jacksonville will be high round picks which would be beneficial for filling holes

That "fact" was something that was very troubling about the Monroe Trade.  Monroe has also Not helped the running game.

Before the season started the analysis here was at the VERY BEST, we could be would be 8-8.  We were bound to draft higher than we have. The view now is that we are going to draft much higher than our management anticipated.  Those picks could have been quite valuable.

I don't have any confidence in our Front Office any longer. If our owner is wise and wants to win again in the near future, he needs to act this off season.

he will!  for the Texans!  lol!

#Mili

Nah, have you heard. Ed is in jeopardy of losing his starting position to the second string safety. He already has been losing playing time.

The commentators of the game right now even said that Ed isn't the Ed that people once knew. But we all knew that first hand. Right?
