If the season ended today...

We'd be on the outside looking in right?

But since when did the season end today?

I've noticed an extreme amount of this wishful thinking foregone conclusion that the season is already over.

Wrap it up and tie a bow on it, what else is there left to see?

Well this football fan still hasn't had enough football, and I for one am a fan of the old school slog em out bad weather kind of football that is coming our way.

CAN'T WAIT

Let's go stack some wins. I will say though, if we lose this next game I may get slightly pessimistic. Just sayin.

For personal, selfish reasons, the Steelers games are the only ones where I have zero tolerance for losing, regardless of respective W/L records.

So, I'm done being pessimistic for now.

I've always been a proponent of patience. Our patience has been rewarded for five consecutive years with playoff berth after playoff berth -- no reason for us to waver in our belief in this team.

I don't really see who's a threat to us for the final wild card spot even if the Bengals manage to hold on to the division which I'm not even sure is going to happen after losing Hall and Adkins for the year. Let's play devils advocate and say Cincy holds on and wins the division. What teams that are "In the Hunt" will have a better record in the long haul, i don't think any when you look at who's left.

Division Winners:

Broncos/Chiefs

Bengals

Colts

Patriots

Wild Card:

Chiefs/Broncos (lock)

In The Hunt:

Ravens

Chargers

Titans

Texans (We own the tie breaker)

Steelers

Jets (We will very likely own tie breaker)

Dolphins (We own the tie breaker)

That final playoff spot is actually going to be competitive. The Chargers are going to have a good record. According to the Philadelphia Eagles home opener myth they're supposed to win the super bowl. We are going to need to stack wins.

Agreed, but we get them again at home, and I'd love to see us dominate them the whole game.

Did someboday say Old School?

Yessir. I have been waiting 12 weeks including preseason to see some slobber knocking smash mouth football. Vintage Ravenesque performances in all 3 phases. Lets see if we tightened up after the Bye week

Heck yeah, but I guess we are still waiting for it to happen.

I suppose that's what Haden meant when he said we aren't the Ravens of old.

This team is sort of looking like a finese team without the fine tuning, which isn't a great combination.

However, that being said I still see shades of the Ravens we are accustomed to seeing.

We need to put it together for a full four quarters, and we need to play better complimentry football.  We need to score off turn-overs, get turn-overs, play better field position, stay on the field longer (and start) hotter on offense.

Granted, that's sort of a tall order, but that is the recipe of success that we've had in the past....

In The Hunt:

                                                                W-L

Ravens                                                   3-5

Chargers                                                 4-4

Titans                                                       4-4

Texans (We own the tie breaker)            2-6

Steelers                                                    2-6

Jets (We will very likely own tie breaker) 5-4

Dolphins (We own the tie breaker)           4-4

Did you mean to put the Steeler/Texans in there? Or did you mean to put the Browns in there?

Tiebreakers only matter when you have the same record.

That was posted before we lost to the freakin Browns lol, road for us to get to the post season is all up hill for sure. I think the planets align for us as long we take care of our own business, the rest will work itself out if we start stringing W's together. But that's much easier said then done with this team.

Again that was posted before the Browns game assuming we would take care of business. I know how tie breakers work lol, the point is if we end up with the same record at the end of the season with one of those teams (which is completely possible) we would own the tie breaker. The more tie breakers owned against potential WC candidates the better which is why I mentioned it.

Sorry...I saw a response today and didn't realize all these were mentioned earlier.
