Marcus Spears and Michael Huff cut

On another note, why are people still ragging on Trawick?  Obviously he made a pretty big mistake, but that's all it was... a mistake.  I'm sure he's more than learned from it at this point.  Despite that mistake, he made some really nice plays on ST during the preseason.

well said rookie's make mistake I stated the same thing in another thread

Because one mistake nullifies everything else you've ever done in your career. Don't you know you can't learn from mistakes? All players should be perfect and never make mistakes! If anyone makes a mistake they should be cut because only losers make mistakes.

Yeah this!  One play is enough to define a career...

Despite that mistake, I like the kid.  He realized his ticket to the roster was through ST and that's where he excelled.  Props to him for that.

He can hit and he can play STs. A little bit of experience, and next year, he might amount to something defensively. But he has what it takes to play special teams. Speed, hitting, and physicality. Huff only had one of those three. Having a physical, hard hitting guy like Trawick on special teams is great.

Exactly.  I think it's a great move for ST purposes.  He showed some promise on D in the preseason as well.  I like what he offers.  It's weird to have 6 safeties on the roster, but I guess it doesn't matter when those last few spots have now been obviously shown to be pure ST spots.

When Asa come back I believe either Trawick or Omar will return to the practice squad. But if both play lights out then who?

I think Asa is not going to have a job when he gets back isn't his next strike a year off .

Asa has a job.  He played incredible in the preseason.  No way we let him walk.

When I saw Spears get blocked 1-on-1 with Heath Miller I knew it was time to cut his playing time. Didn't think he'd be cut from the team but he was not the run defender he once was and we won't miss him, especially with Cody back in the line up.

Huff is soft he avoided contact, and couldn't cover big receivers. Just watch the denver game, you could tell he didn't play like raven, more like a patriot.

I wouldn't be surprised if Spears gets the Bajema treatment.  He may be on and off the roster if our DL guys keep getting banged up as has been the case so far this year.

pollard was a good player but he was too reckless on team costing penalties and etc . The ravens wanted ED Reed back and they offer him a contract but move on to  the texans because they offered more money.

Notice the improvement on the Titans D with Pollard on it.

According to nfl.com the titans were ranked 7th  last year( ranked 6th overall  in total defense) against the pass and they are now still ranked 7th(ranked 20th overall in total defense) against  the pass. Pollard hasn't really improve their secondary or  should i say overall defense because they are ranked 20th right now when last year they were ranked  6th but they are still good against the pass.

I think Asa is not going to have a job when he gets back isn't his next strike a year off .

he performed too well in the preseason to not have a job. He's more valuable than trawick or miles, since lardarius is prone to injury and corey graham is having an up and down season.

Surprised Huff performed as poorly as he did. Thought he was an under rated signing coming into the season. I don't know if he lost his love for the game so I can't speak on that but the intensity and focus just wasn't there. If it helps the ST I'm all for it, hopefully Trawick isn't on PR again though lol

Wow. Neither contributed like I had hoped but wasn't expecting this.

Question for me is why so long with Omar brown, why Trawick again!! My gosh how many safeties are we carrying now?

I am surprised  by both Spears and Tarwick.

That said I think Tarwick gets cut for Asa.

I just remembered Asa Jackson is coming back, him and Omar Brown could make some noise on ST. Disappointing to see two offseason signings get waived but I think it's probably for the best.

I think Miles may be on the chopping block before Trawick, to be honest.  He hasn't impressed on ST so far, and we would also save more by cutting him than we would Trawick.

Waiving Pollard was one of the glaring mistakes.

He was a great tackler and receivers thought about him while attempting to catch a pass.

He enforced the territory in the secondary, but he did get penalized. Most of them unfairly. When attempting to break up a pass he often led with his shoulder or body but got flagged when secondary / incidental contact occurred with the helmets after initial contact with the bodies. That is something the NFL has to get a handle upon. (My view is such should not be a penalty and every team should have one "illegal hit" penalty challenge, which they retain when a replay official rules in their favor.) Those types of penalties are killing the game and altering outcomes. If the NFL keeps it up, the NHL is going to be the nation's Number One sport.

Pollard played with bruised and broken ribs due to the body hits he laid on receivers and he wore Welker out in the AFC Championship.

What a huge mistake.

Pollard is gone because Harbaugh and the Front Office lack political skills.

Agree with something's, while disagreeing with others.

Pollard was not a " great tackler" I don't think anyone on the defense last season should have been considered great as tacklers too many games seeing multiple guys including pollard go high on RBs which is why we got ran all over.

Pollard was definitely an enforcer on defense someone that made hard hits that opposing players didn't want to feel, a great deal of the penalties were due to rule changes, in combination with Pollard aggressiveness ( I liked) and refs just calling fouls on him to set and example.

because huff was supposed to be replacing Reed he was the better safety according to some cats on these forums . I'm not calling for anyone to retire its just my opinion that healthwise might be a good idea.

gotcha!

agreed!

Pollard has been balling this year, give him his due smh

I think the point is that this team is no different if Pollard was still here. We'd still be in the same position we are now.

Now that the Ravens let Huff and Spears go I am wondering who's next. Superbowl hang over or what. The sad part is I have been to every game except for the Denver game and I don't think it's the players fault. Blame goes all around. Mr. Coach if you don't watch out they will be calling for your head. And I can not figure out for the life of me why did you all not throw down field in the Pittsburgh game. Pittsburgh can not cover any one. Thanks for reading. I am being hopeful on this season.

Lol.  Is Harbaugh on this forum?  Is that why any negative comments or criticism of him are negged?  HAHA!
