Might be career over for him.  Is that the knee he injured before?

No, he tore his left ACL last season. I don't think his career is done but he'll  likely never be a top player again. It's a real shame.

I really have zero sympathy for derrick rose last year he was medically clear to play at the back end of the season but he chooses to sit out the last few games and that was fine because they were already in the playoffs. Then he decides not to play in the first round of the playoffs for more rehab and that was still marginally ok because it doesn't get really tough til the second round.

And then he sits out the second round and now it has just gotten ridiculous and sure enough the bulls get eliminated quickly and for all his waiting around he gets injured again anyways 10 game sin and now he will miss another season.

Players have returned from returned from torn meniscus surgery in as little as 8 days (Brandon Roy) or 12 (Metta World Peace).  They didn't say what part of his meniscus got torn.  If it was on the outside, he'll recover quickly, as there's a steady stream of blood that passes through there.

Andre I. is out indefinitely with a left hamstring strain.  Marc Gasol is likewise out indefinitely with an MCL sprain.  What a bad day yesterday was in terms of basketball injuries.

I think they said it was a medial meniscus tear. He'll be out a while.

I got the right two

Well unless klay gets hurt which is less likely than curry but still highly possible

I'm guessing you're in panic mode after the Gasol MCL injury...

For the sake of his career, I'm glad that Derrick Rose's surgery will shelve him for the rest of the season. Because had they been unable to repair his meniscus, they would've had to shave it down. He would've been able to return within two weeks, but it would've meant risking bone on bone contact. The same thing that happened to Brandon Roy.

Kobe's going to be a Laker for the rest of his career.  Seems a bit premature, I would have waited until after he comes back to make sure he can still play after the injury.  I wonder what the numbers are, the Lakers are going to have problems when they start trying to spend money if Kobe is taking up $30 million in cap space again.

They've got enough space for another max contract but they clearly need a lot more than just one other superstar to compete in the West, much less make a title run.

If it's the right player they might be alright, assuming they get decent enough role players.  The teams they won with a few years ago weren't that much worse than the current NBA elites.

Who would be right player even be? I don't know about you second statement but overall, the West is most definitely deeper than several years ago. Tons of variables but I just don't see the Lakers being relevant unless a lot goes their way.
