We don't need him, and we wouldn't be able to make it happen anyway.

Yeah. If we are getting another WR, it will be next year in the draft.

Fitz is way out of our reach

I'm content with the guys we have, anyway. Torey, Brown, Doss, Thompson, and Mellette will be more than adequate in coming years. If a good WR comes to us in the draft, I'd take him, but we don't need to sign any FA WRs.

Need him? no I don't think so either but Torrey's having a great year (number 1 in receiving yards and all) and Larry's used to being the only real offensive threat since boldin left az (when's the last time they had a real running game?) so if he is 100% getting traded why not be ecstatic to come to baltimore with a provin qb with a great arm and a proven receiver next to him not to mention pitta rice & marlon

Unless of course Ozzie Newsome figures out another way to make the idiot Cards GM keep all the money on his contract (:P), I agree.

If we do go for a guy in FA, it's prob another Dlinemen. Otherwise I don't see us spending too much this year

And I understand we probably can't afford him but I'm not big on on the ins and outs of how contracts work and if he could be extended or something to where it would be possible so I decided to ask

I'd take him if money wasn't a factor... but it is, and that completely throws us out.  There's no way we could afford him.

fitz lost it long time ago.

his not a top 5 WR anymore

I think he could be effective with a QB like Joe and a WR like Torrey beside him. I just wish we had the money.

I disagree, Fitz makes those rare 3rd down freak catches we sorely miss. But as mentioned the price is too high.

Well I don't know the detail breakdown of each year of Fitzgerald's contract but if most of the bonus money is paid out by Arizona and he would be willing to get a new contract upon trade it could help out a great deal of teams.

Otherwise not going to have many options for trades.

What he lost a long time ago is a capable QB (Warner) to throw him the ball and complimentary offensive pieces at the same time (Boldin,Breaston, Bryant). Even with pathetic QB Fitzgerald still beats double coverage on the norm to only have balls put in horrible positions.
Fitzgerald style of play, being able to run routes catch over the middle, etc will allow him to be product for years..
He and Andre Johnson have had injuries the last couple of seasons but still remain productive, yet people continue to push them aside.

Reminds me of couple years ago when everyone said Steve smith was finished don't trade for him etc etc. Now he's had 3 straight good years.

Yea i agree w/ you.   Not arguing his still got few magic left in him.  But he isn't the same guy he was in his prime, and he isn't a top 5 WR anymore.

Even if we can make the financials work, I'm not too sure I'd want him considering what we'd still be giving up.

As much as I'd rather have Eugene Monroe than two middle-round picks, I'd rather not gut too much of the 2014 draft on two guys (albeit two really talented guys). I reckon the Cards would want at least three picks, including a first. And that's before you start to think about what teams who need a WR would be prepared to give up.

Fitz is easily still top 5.

Exactly.....who the hell has been throwing to him?

He had over 1000 yards with 3 "jobbers" throwing him the ball.

also, like the greats..hes still will be a force even when hes in his mid 30's. sadly we have wayyy to many holes as a team and we need the draft. if we were a team with few flaws then id be all  for it. sadly we need upgrades in many areas.

Word.We saw exactly what happened when Larry had a good qb and a good supporting cast. The cardinals went to the Superbowl and won back to back NFC West Titles.

I feel like Fitz is the kind of guy who would take a big pay cut to play on a winner. Would love him here, but will most likely never happen

I love this comment on PFT...

"Bill Belichick slowly raised his hoodie over his head, rubbed his hands together, and with an evil glint in his eyes said “Brady to Fitzgerald. Brady to Fitzgerald. My precious. My precious!!” He then laughed maniacially."

Realistically, I can see BB doing that and trying to find a way to make this happen.

Arizona Owner came out and confirmed that Fitz will retired as Cardinals.......Fitz won't cry right now cuz he is loaded with money; when he gets to about 35yrs old, he will realize that with all the great skill sets and abilities he has, his record will be average and have no SB ring........

It's sad but he is filthy rich....depends on how he sees it..money or fame..lol
