What will become of the 2013 Baltimore Ravens?

Where do the 2013 Ravens end up?   90 members have voted

  1. 1. What streak do we go on for our final 9 regular season games?

    • Division Champs, First Round Bye (extremely unlikely, we would have to go on at least a 8-1 streak and hope other teams lose)
    • Division Champs. Home Game in Wild Card Round (In the realm of possibilities this is the best case scenario. We would need to sweep the Bengals and the rest of our division games, probably a 7-2 or at least a 6-3 streak)
    • Wild Card, On the Road for the playoffs (except the unlikely scenario of us being the 5th seed facing the 6th seed in the AFC Championship game. This would require at least 5-4 streak, but that's a gamble at 8-8)
    • Miss the playoffs, but play decently the rest of the season (4-5 to 5-4 streak, placing us as a middle of the road team)
    • Miss the playoffs and play poorly down the stretch (Losing more than five of our final 9 games)
  2. 2. If we make the playoffs, are we a one and done team, or do we win at least one playoff game?

    • One and Done
    • Win one playoff game
    • Deep run into playoffs
    • First repeat champs since Patriots

The O-line is going to be the reason we don't make the playoffs (I hope I'm wrong) and special teams. Unfortunately both the coaches are reported to be close friends of Harbs so I have little confidence that things will change.

I enjoyed the ride as much as anyone last year but if we are honest we had some downright lucky moments last year (missed kick against Dallas, San Diego 4 & 29, the mile-high miracle), without these that team might have missed the playoffs altogether or certainly been one and done in the playoffs.

This team could easily be 5-2 at this point instead of 3-4 this year but we have not been as lucky (or as good). Injuries have been crucial which have contributed to the problem.

I'd love to say "ask me again in two weeks" because I think they will be the barometer for the rest of the season.

I have to say I was dissapointed at all the articles last week with player-x heads off to such and such for bye week. I know a bye week is meant for recovery, but I thought a team of defending champs in this position after seven weeks might see value in putting in some hard yards over the bye week, whether it be on the training field, in the lecture theatres, watching tape, or heads in the play book.

That might sound mean, but if the company I worked for slipped from being industry leaders to being mid-tier in the space of eight months, we'd be putting in the extra hours or being told to start looking at the want-ads.

As you know, they play a very physical sport and the days to rest and recover during their bye week is necessary for their success. It affords them the opportunity to get some guys back healthy and others to recover from ailing injuries. They're the defending champs and professionals. They want to repeat as champs more than the fans want them to repeat. They play the game and know what's at stake. They deserve and need their downtime during the bye.
