When you look at some of the posts around the board, there are a lot of people who are calling for Harbaugh to be fired, Caldwell to be fired, Castillo to be fired, are angry at Pees, and complaining about the front office.
I am confused as to why people are losing their minds so much. If this year end up being a down year for us and we don't make the playoff, I am not going to be bothered by it too much. Every team goes through a down year at some point in this league. This is the reality of the salary cap and the parity that the NFL is constanly trying to enforce. You can't be a contender every single year.
For me personally, I am happy with what the Ravens have given me in just 18 years. We have been to the playoffs 9 times, won 14 games with the highest winning percentage in playoffs history at 67%, played in 4 AFC championship games, and have 2 superbowl titles.
Under Harbaugh and Flacco, we have been the first team to make it to 5 straight playoffs appearance, win a game every years, play in 3 AFC championship, and win a superbowl in the first 5 years of their tenure.
The Ravens have set a lot of records that most teams can only dream of under a coach and quarterback in their first 5 years.
Also, by winning last year superbowl, we have given guys like Reed, Ngata, Suggs, Birk, Flacco, Rice, Smith, Yanda, Boldin, etc. what they have worked hard for. The Ravens have already accomplished what may be the toughest task in sports by winning a super bowl and giving so many great players their rings.
Even if this year result in a missed playoff, I am not too mad about it. It is all about perspective.
Teams like the Lions, Eagles, Cardinals, Browns, Chargers, Titans, Falcons, Seahawks, Panthers, etc. would enjoy what we have accomplished in just 18 years.
The success that we have had doesn't come around often. You got to apperciate it cause you never know what the future hold.
