LT Bryant McKinnie traded to the Miami Dolphins

93 posts in this topic

Bryant McKinnie will go down in NFL history as one of the greatest waste of talents that you will ever see.

Seriously, this guy should have been a hall of famer just based on the pure talent and potential that he had.

It suck that he cared more about partying and just being lazy rather than putting in the work and time to maxmize his talent.

Good to see him go. He's been my least favorite raven since the despicable donte stallworth. I have no patience for laziness.

I can only imagine the amount of trouble Mckinnie will get in , in Miami. South Beach, the strip clubs, the women, home of his college.

McKinnie was not as disappointing as Jared Gaither.  Gaither had the chance to be a Pro-Bowl LT year in and year out, but his attitude cost him.

My back hurts just thinking about him!

So if it's a conditional pick, do we root for the Dolphins to do well? Better yet, do we have anything to gain from stuffing the Pro Bowl ballots?

There isn't a worse place we could have sent him to, for him.  Still, I'm glad to be rid of him.  Monroe is a massive upgrade.

Maybe this has been mentioned already, but didn't McKinnie play in Miami after the Monroe trade? I keep reading and seeing on tv that he didn't play after the Monroe trade.

So much talent and potential wasted with laziness and lack of motivation.

I'm actually feeling a little sorry for Miami.   He may play motivated for a little bit, but then he'll just go back to his lazy ways.

Good luck Tannehill.

Yes he did and he played poorly. I'm a little stunned Miami took him after that performance.

I like the deal for this reason. Mckinnie isnt awful. He is way better than what Miami has been getting at Tackle. If he can help Miami defeat Cincinnati and Pittsburgh it helps the Ravens.

I lol thinking about this because I believe it was McKinnie that let dion jordan sack/fumble Flacco and now the dolphins have traded for him.

Still kind kind of surprised that the Dolphins ended-up taking Bryant McKinnie from the Ravens. Yeah, their offensive line is even worse than Baltimore's, as evident by the field day the Ravens defense had against them. However, Miami did have an up-close view of McKinnie during that game; so, I'm not sure what they saw in him that convinced them to make this trade. But, whatever...

QUESTION: How does this trade factor-into next year's salary cap? Like, if the Ravens were to cut McKinnie in 2014, they would have saved $3 million. So, will the team save the same amount, for next year; or, are things a little different, now?

I believe they same the same amount they would have by cutting him in the off-season.  So yeah, it should be $3 million.  We're still on the hook for the guaranteed money, if I'm not mistaken.  The only thing that changes is this year, I think we get the unguaranteed money off the cap.

Jordan is a good speed rusher. Jordan going to be à good player. Mckinnie struggles with speed not power.

Mckinne is 34 years old he is at the end of his career..He got selected to the pro bowl in 2009 and is a Super Bowl champion. And he was huge for us in the playoffs last year to win that Super Bowl. Show the man a little respect?

Wasn't his contract heavily incentive laden? I can't imagine he met any incentives if so.

Heh.

Yeah he's been losing money all season for not making the weight clause.

I agree. We would have been lucky to make the playoffs at all. We were he worst 9-2 team offensively until Bryant went in. He did a great job in the 2011 season. Thanks Bryant. The rest of you can go pound sand.

What could we get for Harbs ?

McKinnie is four games into a two-year, $6.3 million contract signed in May, and the team's brass has concluded that he's a lost cause in his age-34 season. Although the Ravens already have paid his $2 million signing bonus, McKinnie has another $1 million in guarantees remaining on his base salary.

Now, that makes sense to me.  Looks like our GFO strikes again.

Sorry, but this seems like very poor guessing on some ones part.  Gee, maybe some one lied about Boldin.

Hmmm, Boldin, or McKinnie ?

It's tough to say the words "respect" and "McKinnie" in the same sentence.
But any friend of Sweet Pea is a friend of mine, so thanks for the four great games last year

7 tackles and 1 sack in 6-8 games for a top 5 pick is not good, no matter his potential.
