Offensive and Defensive Coordinators that may be available next year?

Anyone have any thoughts on coaches that could be available next year? Peas is way to conservative In my opinion, and Caldwell is way to predictable.

If they jettison the entire Houston staff, I'd think about taking Kubiak and Wade Phillips.  Wade Phillips is a phenomenal defensive coordinator.

I was thinking the same thing a couple days ago. Something tells me they will get another year though. I would love Phillips.

Wade might, but I'd bet money that Kubiak is gone.

If I remember correctly, he makes more money as Stanford HC than he'd make as an OC in the league.  Additionally, he could be up for head coaching opportunities since the race group put him and Charlie Strong from Louisville forth as NFL coaching candidates for the off-season.

I think Kubiak would do great here with his blocking scheme which i think would fit a whole lot better than the one we have!

He knows QBs and the passing game too.  The run game as the focus was the result of Foster's ascendance and Schaub's decline, but this is the same guy that made Schaub look like a somewhat competent QB and put up nice numbers for quite a few years.  Offense was never the problem, it was the defense which was fixed with the arrival of Wade and Watt.  Now Schaub collapses and Kubiak is going to be out of a job.

We have Spags right now.  you mean to tell me,  out of all these consultants that we have, no one can coordinate a game?

No his not. Wade had one great year in texans. He stunk pretty much everywhere else. If you track his records, he finds a way to lose his players attention as years go by. I dont want him.

Kubiak is a lot like Mike Shanny. The guy has exactly one way of doing things, and he sticks to it. Both of them has zero way of adjusting things to make stuff work. I wouldnt want anything to do with kube. He'll change all of our offensive players top to bottom so that things works under his scheme whether it works or not & he doesnt care. There's a reason why every texans want him gone since 2010. I know b/c i move here in houston time to time. Fans absolutely loathe him.

This is my first post since back in July. I voiced my displeasure with Jim Caldwell at that time, and I received a lot of negative replys as a result. As an old Colt fan, I also followed the Colts. Jim Caldwell was the most inept coach that the NFL has ever seen, and he showed that after Peyton Manning got hurt. He was not a good assistant, he was not a good head coach, and he certainly is no offensive co-ordinator. Too many people were heaping praises on Caldwell for the Ravens Super Bowl run. He inherited the system from Cameron, and just continued on. I said that the real test would be this season, when he would put his footprint on it. Well folks, you are witnessing it first hand. As much as I like John Harbaugh, I realize that he isn't always going to make the right decisions. Caldwell will be his undoing if he does not replace him with a real co-ordinator.

Dear Lord, no. I think this year has demonstrated that a predominately zone based blocking scheme doesn't work with our O-line.

Kubiak and Wade Phillips.

So much this. These guys would make our talent shine phenomenally.

I mean Kubiak made Schaub a pro bowl QB twice. Same guy who holds the pick 6 in consecutive games record and might be out of a job.

Edit: Kubiak isn't dumb. He would play to our strengths, which we cant seem to do this season.

I think Chris Kiffin from ole miss could end up being our D-line coach after the season but as for DC I believe in Dave Steckel from Missouri and their secondary coach Cornell Ford who teaches DB's to stay physical and loves man to man coverage and does not teach the secondary to play 5-10 yards off the ball like Teryl Austin

The front office is partly the blame for mixing up the chemistry to the extent they did. Change is good but too much change at once, not so good. I like Pizza but only if I can eat it at a rate I can handle.

Well, they could make Castillo DC :P

Jk...Eagles lol

Does anyone think the Giants are going to jettison their coaching staff? They have some good coaches such as Kevin Gilbride, who is one of the most proud and decorated coaches in the NFL. Won two SBs with Eli and has ran numerous, very successful NFL offenses in the past. He's also been linked to HC jobs and received interviews for HC jobs in the past.

I agree, Our offense seems to have taken on his Dull and quiet personality.

Greg Schiano for DC the Bucs might fire him after the season he did good last year against the giants with his schemes in a 4-3 defense

As much I don't like Cam as our OC, he is a very good coordinator if he is not stubborn and making calls.  He is a very good text book OC, to be exact.  Caldwell joined in mid season and made the right call with correct usage of our personels.  This year is his real task and he has no experience as OC anyways; last year is his first OC experience.

I agree we need to find a real OC next year and DC as well who can fit our hard nose ground pound personality.

If Rex can shut his mouth, I love him to come back...lol

PS: Castillo needs to be gone this year or next year as lastest, but I doubt John will part ways with him that early.....

I agree 100% that Jim Caldwell is not a real offensive coordinator, and we need to hire one.  We need someone smart and creative and open to new ideas.  We have been too vanilla for too long.  Our offense has always been predictable and now we're not winning the battles in the trenches.  I think we have serious coaching issues with our offensive coaching staff.  The offensive line coaches, wide receivers coaches, and coordinator himself are all doing a poor job of preparing our players to play sound football, in my opinion.

I still want Hue Jackson. I think he would be great here. I'm just not sure if he and Harbaugh have issues.

He's probably want a HC job, but I'd love to have Art Briles of Baylor as our OC.

And if Pees were to be replaced, I'd love to have Rex Ryan back. Otherwise, I'd be very happy with either Sean McDermott or Todd Bowles.

I want [random coach] because he's not our current coach and that probably means he's a better option.

I get what you're saying here but I don't think it's entirely relevant as there have been those who have been against bringing back Pees or Caldwell for various reasons as the coordinator. I'm not really against either but I did want Hue Jackson in the off-season and was bummed when he didn't even get a look from the way things sounded.

I like Caldwell but he hasn't yet proven to be an effective coordinator. Not sure if his recent struggles are related to conflicting schemes. I know some are related to player execution but some weight does fall on him too.

We won a freaking SB with Caldwell as our OC. He isn't the problem. Castillo, on the other hand...I wouldn't exactly say he is part of the solution.

Big Mac essentially said this when he started his new gig in Miami.
