Win or lose today, is this the most frustrating season of the Harbaugh and Billick eras?

this season doesn't come close to 2007 once joe got here I was optimistic about the ravens and the future .even with the slow start and issues this year I remain optimistic .

I hear you man.I'm optimistic too but after this bye week, somethings gotta jump with this team.

I would say this is definitely up there. I just feel this isn't a well disciplined or well coached team. ST, outside of a couple of moments, has been mediocre. The D is situationally poor. The offense can't even move the chains because the run game and OL is an absolute laughing stock. The mountain of ridiculous (RIDICULOUS) penalties. Very dubious game management by the Harbaugh

I still think this team will turn it around and make the playoffs. Call me crazy.

It definitely is, starting from when the superbowl ended really. From trading boldin to cutting pollard because of harbaugh, Ngata looking like crap, Flacco throwing a bunch of picks (not all on him), Nobody getting open, worst run game i've ever seen, awful coaching, giving up wide open throws, crap run d, going a whole half without getting a couple first downs, dickson not showing up at all, pitta injury, on and on and on and on.

This year doesn't even come close. For me, its a toss up between the year we lost at home to the Tennessee Titans in the playoffs and the year we lost in the playoffs after Steve McNair led us to a 13-3 regular season record. In the former playoff game,I sat in the stands thinking if we only had a QB we would be winning. In the latter version, Steve McNair saved his worst game for last that year. Believe it or not, those two years were more frustrating to me than the loss to NE in the playoffs when Lee Evans relaxed instead of squeezing the go ahead score in the waning moments in Foxboro. Were it not for that dropped pass by a veteran receiver, we are talking about Joe Flacco as one of the elite five QBs in the league.

First off, I'm glad you were pleased that we won the SB last year  :eyes:

Anyways, 2007 was far more frustrating for me. Just letdown after letdown culminating in giving Miami their only win. This season is frustrating because the things that have always been hallmarks of Ravens football, like running the ball have faltered. It feels like a different team than in the past in lots of ways.

No, 09 (the Frank Walker year) was annoying.  06 angered the hell out of me.  07 was comical until the Dolphin loss.  05 was bad as well.  All I think are worse than this season, regardless of how it ends.  There is at least the comfort of the ring from last season to lean on.

2007 was frustrating because the media called us bad when we had a lot players hurt sans rolle and McCalister finally coming back for that classic Pats prime time game and then going back in IR.

No on recognized our injuries during the billick era. At least during the harbaugh era when we struggle the media/ESPN talks about our injuries and ray rice being hurt. 2007 only Steve young recognized the injuries and that other commentator had a shocked face cause they never followed the team and just painted us inept in the media constantly.

Harbaugh got us respect by sending in tapes the 1st couple of years of unfair calls that plagued us for years. I remember be4 him steelers games came down to calls against us as opposed to talent. Notice how complaining about bad calls when we lose ain't as prominent as it use to be.

That particular Pats game was the pinnacle for me of the need for a coaching change when we had them stopped, but the play was whistled and replayed because of Billick or Ryan or whoever playing cute and calling that timeout right before the snap.  That would have stopped the Pats and they wouldn't have gone 16-0.

Agree. Other teams come out on fire against the Ravens while we never put in a full 60 minutes of football. watching Peyton call his offensive to the line for the no huddle and then watching the Raven's slow, sluggish efforts is embarrassing.

Exactly! There was no excuse for a delay of game after a timeout. How the hell does that happen??

5-11. Conversation over.

Remember that year we started 4-2. This year we're 3-4. So far this year is becoming more and more frustrating to watch because there is no excuse for how we are playing. 2007 we were a team destroyed with injuries.

Its nowhere near as fraustrating as 07 because you kinda knew it was our last shot with McNair, and nobody knew what the future of the team was with the offense. What made it worse was it felt like we missed a huge oppurtunity the previous year with the 2nd best defense in franchise history.

This year has sucked so far, but we just won the Superbowl. That always lowers the pain. Not to mention the future is anything but uncertain. Sure we have some question marks like Ngata and Rice but as long as you have a good QB and GM, your in good position.

Absolutely!! In prior seasons at least you could hang your hat on the possibility of a good following season.  As Flacco's money escalates it will cost the franchise players that he needs to be competent enough to finish in the middle of the pack compared to his his peers..

Hence flushing 5 seasons down the toilet on one dumb contract. Ozzie and his staff got taken to the woodshed by Flacco.

At least in the 2007 Season i never had high expectations and knew Billick was on his way out, which gave me something to look forward too. This year we are by far the best team in our division IMO. The way we are losing games is extremely frustrating. I swear i cant remember ever getting so upset and angry during games. It's already been a long season, these games are gonna kill me sooner or latter...

You were the only one, then. The 2007 team had higher expectations than the 2013 team.

I agree with you completely, just remember that we went young this year and that next year we should have some very hardened players. The offense didn't do bad today but look at the defense they played. Should of been able to score from the 1 yard line. The Defense played well all game except for that one play. The faced that alignment at least 10 times.

These games arent at all entertaining. Ozzie and Harbaugh really screwed this season up. I just want it to be over. I hope they lose every game. Better to have draft picks at this point. These games are like a root canal. Just bad dumb football. Check that i hope they Beat the Steelers, thats it.

Yes, mainly for 2 reasons.

1. We're coming off a Superbowl win and expectations are high.

2. Losing 5/6 of our losses this season by 1 score. 4 of them by a FG.

Frustrating is the only word to describe it.

Please stop defending Flacco. It's starting to get annoying.

I'm sorry but with the offense we had i never had crazy expectations. Expecting a good team yeah, but not expectations like i had this year. I thought this was the year that we FINALLY had a balanced attack on both sides of the ball. We just won a super bowl..how did you not have high expectations coming into this year.

why keep bringing up very, very, very old stuff like Billick?  this is the Harbaugh regime now and has been that way for 6 years.  Billick has NOTHING to do with this team's inconsistencies, struggles and piss poor gameplay.

2007 was bad because of the butt ton of injuries.

Pitta is injured this year....and that's about it.

2007 wasn't as bad to me because of the injuries. McNair went down, we knew we didn't have a good QB in Boller but we knew it is what it is. This year is worse to me because there aren't many injuries, we locked up our franchise QB for a lot of money and a lot of years and he isn't playing like he did in the playoffs, which is an unfair assesment due to the offense as a whole, but we want to repeat and we are one of the worst offenses. We can't win the close ones, hell we handed the game to the Bengals despite there million penalties last week and we barely won. That should of been a blow out. I easily think this is more frustrating than 2007.

Excellent point.  If we'd won those games by a field goal, we'd still have the exact same team, only with a winning record.
