Week 7 - Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers

2,750 posts in this topic

I hear what you're saying but it isn't one bad game. In Denver, he ignored the tantrum his player threw on the field trying to get him to challenge a catch. and instead of the Broncos being forced to punt, the drive continued and they scored a TD. Complete momentum shift. We'll never know how that would or could have changed the game. And yes, it would have been overturned, there was clear evidence it hit the ground.

Versus GB, with a running game that couldn't get going, he did three running plays in a row from the 1 yd line. He decides to go for it on 4th and 1 (when a FG would have tied the game) and what does he do? Runs the ball up the gut again. Fail.

It's like he's in desperation mode with no idea how to motivate his team at all and can't even see the obvious issues. Such as running on 80% of first downs straight up the gut.

Well, I acknowledge you watch your team more closely than i do....but teams reflect their leadership...for good and bad....The Ravens have had a ton of success under Harbaugh. I'm guessing there are 5 or less NFL teams that have been more successful over the last few years. Toss him...and i guarantee he would have a job before he hit the ground

what stat did Harbaugh pull out on the onside kick.something like this when I see 10 crows flying over the river and the crows land all at the same time that play will work 90 percent of the time it was the right call next question.

Probably something he asked his dad about. Or he read somewhere. Who knows? I know this. It didn't work!

I wouldn't do that onside kick playing a meaningless game of madden because it's so stupid in that situation, imagine the nerve it takes to do that in a real NFL game. I would be disappointed in myself for calling that in a virtual game that doesn't mean anything to anybody.. and Harbaugh seriously called that in an important divisional game. I really gotta re-think who's coaching our team because he made a boneheaded call like that in the SB and we were fortunate enough to win anyway. if we lost people would still be bashing that fake FG to this day.

The reason is your brain functions properly no short circuits like Harbaugh.

If they recover that kick, you and everyone else hating him on here would be calling him a genius.

I would still consider him a idiot, a lucky one, even if the Ravens recovered. Too much time on the clock to take that chance.

If we recovered that kick i would still be saying it was a boneheaded call and we were just fortunate that it worked in our favor. It was a boneheaded call when Sean Payton did it in the SB even though they recovered. It's just putting the game in the hands of complete and random chance that is significantly in your opponents favor. It's like betting all your money on a hand of black jack at a casiono, if you win you look like a genius but the house has the advantage (return team) and more often then not your the one who ends up looking like an idiot. It's not like we were down 14, one of the worst coaching decisions I can ever remember watching.

Search party is still out there for Terrell Suggs and the rest of our Dline

Seriously. The pass rush has been strong all year and they face arguably the worst OL so far and come back empty handed. Glad Brandon Williams got a sack but Sizzle, Doom, Art Jones, and Upshaw should've been getting pressure like no one's business

Harbs is not a good coach.  He is a talking head at best.  The Ravens succeed when the players motivate themselves.

Wow again...how easy is it for you guys to forget....I do not need to defend Harbs..his record speaks for itself.  If you guys don't want him, I know of about 27 teams and owners that will be more than happy to take him off your hands......WATCH OUT FOR WHAT YOU WISH FOR...you just might get it !!!!!  With regards to his decision for the on side kick....did all of you watch the same game as Harbs and I watched.....Your defense was a sieve and as some of your more knowledgeable  fans stated......the Steelers punted only once until that point.  He made a calculated risk and hoped that at least Steelers would only get 3 points, which we had done all day from our own side of the field.  Once again we only got 3 points fans.  If it would have worked, then you guys would have found something else to [profanity deleted] at.  The POINT Being is we would have gotten 3 points no matter what...we did it ALLLLLL day up until then......... Ohhhhhh  and we did it again at the end of the game.   Where do you get that he lost the GAME...  [removed], you would sit back and logically look at a game and understand why decisions are made and the calculated risks involved.  .I truly understand why he made the call..heck I was not surprised after he chose to go for a 4th and 1 on the 18 yard line early in the 4th quarter.  He simply was watching a different game than most of you and made a decision that the odds of your defense stopping us was limited at best and chose to go for the 7 points.  wow  again.

I'm wishing for a new OC so I hope it comes true and for the onside kick just a brutal call

Good post. I agree even though I missed half the game.

I cannot blame Harbaugh for being a gutsy coach. When you're constantly playing from behind you have to try new things to give yourself an advantage.

I don't see us doing much this bye week besides getting some rest. I feel like we'll play the same way we've been playing two weeks from now. As much as I would love someone to come in and help our offense, I just don't see anything happening. Harbaugh always says we'll make changes, we wont play any worse, and blah blah blah... it just seems like all talk to make us fans feel better

Good hard game today. Our guys played very well. Tough loss but we will fix it. We have a bye week so we will look at it and see what needs to be done. Hats off to a good Steelers team. I like the decision to try an onside kick with 14 min left in the game. It's no one person's fault. We just need to execute better...blah blah blah!

I think u nailed it! Haaaa

Probably something he asked his dad about. Or he read somewhere. Who knows? I know this. It didn't work!

It was a prank that brother Jim played on him.  He called Jim last night and Jim said, "Hey, I know a play that works every time!!"

extra point and kick off aren't related at all

Yeah bc an extra point has more room for error; snap, then the hold and then the kick. If he was ok to focus on that he would have been focused to do the kickoff with no moving parts.

That Steeler defense always comes to play. Tough all the way. Best tacklers I've ever seen in all my 40 years watching football. Dick Lebeau is not only a great DC he also knows talent. Lovie Smith comes to mind.

What I'm saying is that to score on them takes execution which our guys did tonight. We lost but it looked very positive for our offense. Let's take this and BUILD on it. It's a long season and we got Jacoby back an Asa Jackson will be back soon and Brandon Williams is playing well. Flacco is getting timing down with Brown and Doss.

 Frankly I'm looking forward.

Thanks! Maybe I should try to be the next Ravens coach! I did coach little league. Lol

Sorry, you would be over qualified. Just ask our special teams coach --harbs.

Ed Reed? You think Ed Reed is what this team needs right now? I wonder how he's doing in Houston.

Ed Reed deserved a better fate to the end of career with the Ravens. How many years did that guy stay in the lineup with back and neck injuries? He deserved better. Right now we need some major veteran leadership to weather this storm. He could have at least been here to help out in the locker room.
