Week 7 - Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers

2,750 posts in this topic

Don't put it on the defense after harbaugh couldn't just play the damn game and had to surprise onside and then the ST gave up what probably should've been a TD if Brown was more concious of his foot placement and still put them right outside FG range and swayed the momentum. This one's on harbaugh, snatching defeat from the clutches of victory.

The bottom line is that it really is not big deal that Pittsburg won, it is a hollow victory because they are effectively out of contention for the season.

The Raven's have nothing to feel bad about, they are doing ok considering the changes in personnel since last season, give them time and things will improve.

At this point we can use a head coach.  If he cant get his coaches in line then we don't need him.  You all are sold on his record.  He hides his lack of coaching by hiring all these other coaches.  This is not a young team as far as football years.  We have a nice blend of rookies and vets.  They are getting out coached every week.

Why gamble on the onside kick with them having trouble moving the football.

Why are we coming out of halftime Discombobulated.

Why is Castillo here? Spags? No improvement

....honestly..i feel like pur sacks are almost empty one off sacks...this team is a joke...i ahve every game from the 2006 season and that defense made life hell on every snap. this defense is actualy not even average. ngata is overrated as can be. webb  looks average. jimmy smith wil never be anything other then ok now and then. elam is a bust. ihedibo is a ecisl teams player.

Why did we not kick for the touchback on that last kick?

we did, he grabbed it in the back of the end zone though

No... He didn't . Tucker essentially squibbed it. Did you watch the game?

The only thing I'm really disappointed with in the game was the blatant no call PI on Gay on Jones in the end zone in the 2nd quarter. Could have sworn the rule was that defensive players were su pposed to play the ball, not mug a receiver on a bomb to the end zone without turning their head one bit. Not that it would have really mattered though seeing how our run game has been, prob wouldn't have been able to punch it in after that theoretical PI to the 1 yd line. Oh well...never thought I'd say this but I'm about to the point of wanting to abandon the run game for the rest of the year. I know Pittsburgh is a solid front seven but it's just absolutely pathetic our o-line's part, at least they've been solid pass protecting for the large part.

But... we won 2 Super Bowls! We can live off that right... Steelers fans?

I think you have to have a minimum of 4 before you can start living off of it.

It's gotten to the point with the OL that when Rice gets a five yard run it seems like a great play, and these 3-point games are the ones we used to win ... need a beer right now.

This loss is partially on the D, and majority on the coaching staff. I expect to see some staff changes while on the Bye. This loss really sets the Ravens back in the division and conference, especially with the Bengals winning, and the Jets winning. Horrible. Horrible. Flacco, do not hang your head. This is not on you. You did what was asked of you. Minus one play, you did good. Hoping we can escape the season with a 10-6 record and back into the playoffs.

10-6, huh?

Not sure which 7 teams we could beat to get there. I don't see us beating the Bears, Bengals in Cincinnati, Patriots, or Lions. So that leads to 8-8 at best.

I'm tired of the defense apologists around here. A defense that fails to make the other team punt since their first drive of the game and lets them take 8 -10 minutes on every drive, it's all on them.

Not saying that Harbaugh made a good decision. It was a boneheaded call. But one stop from our putrid defense and it wouldn't have mattered.

Brilliant call by Harbaugh.

Not only does it all but guarantee the Steelers get a FG to push their lead to 7 points, but now even if the Ravens finally score a TD, which will only tie the game, the Steelers should still have enough time left to drive downfield to score the winning FG.

Harbs lack of any feel for the ebb and flow of the game is just comical.

Considering what's happened, this post is quite comical.

We lost, in the exact way I said we would.

Still think my prediction was a joke?

(I do wish I'd been wrong)

Harbs is clueless, who can predict the after game speech? Let's hear it?

Good hard game today. Our guys played very well. Tough loss but we will fix it. We have a bye week so we will look at it and see what needs to be done. Hats off to a good Steelers team. I like the decision to try an onside kick with 14 min left in the game. It's no one person's fault. We just need to execute better...blah blah blah!

We need to win 7 games and have 2 loses for the rest of the season which I doubt just to be in playoff contention. Even with a 10-6 record we may not make the playoffs due to KC, Denver, Cinci, etc. Hopefully we win 9 straight games after the bye, we would be 12-4...

Well I'll give everyone a "pass" after a great Super Bowl run.

Unfortunately we are underacheiving all over the place.

Hopefully the O-Line can get straightened out with the addition of Monroe.

I believe the pcs. are there but being Physically pushed around is disturbing.

The Steelers are a total joke and couldn't run the ball at all with an O-line that is in shambles. Yet they pushed us around.

Gut check time for sure.

heres thè problem. unless ozzie has a 1996 like draft, we are going to be average at best until 2015

Another game of 2.8 yards per carry for the running backs (including Leach, who actually brings that average UP).  And yet we allow 4.5 yards per carry to the team that had been ranked just 1 spot higher than us (30th to our 31st) in team yards per carry prior to today.  And we were the team with the better run defense ranked by yards per carry allowed, too.  Our run game is just atrocious.  And our run defense is just as bad.  We seem to allow runs of 3 or 4 yards every single play, which gives an average that looks good, but is actually very bad because if you truly allow 3 or 4 yards on every attempt, you'd allow first downs and drive extensions at will, which is exactly what we do.

Harbs blew it on NOT letting Tucker kick it out of the back of the endzone!

What makes you think Harbs told him not to? Tucker was bleeding out the ear he probably wasn't balanced enough and failed to do it

Ravens fans. I can see you disagreeing with your coach or thinking he called a bad game. But I gotta tell you, your coach does not suck. He didn't suddenly get bad overnight because you are struggling this season. As a Steeler fan, I hate Harbaugh....but I think he is an excellent NFL coach. He has a huge body of work that proves it. To me, throwing this guy under the bus makes you seem clueless.

that better not have been a coaches decsion

You don't think Tucker had the option of audibling into a ridiculous onside kick do you? That had to be a coaches decision.

I see this game being decided by 3. Pitt hasn't been stopped at all so I reckon the win will be off of Suishams foot

Boy I called it. I have zero faith in our team to do anything good anymore. A 1-4 Pittsburgh team kept us in check for the entire game. We lack any type of urgency or fire on our offense besides Doss. Torrey can barely even get open for a #1 receiver. Good thing is we will be in perfect shape to get a great set of players so high in the draft next season. Gradkowski needs to be gone. I'd rather have Gurode at C after this poor showing.

Anyone want Rex Ryan back? I think he should have gotten the job over Harbum

What has Rex Ryan done to validate that?

True. And who's fault was it that he was bleeding out the ear? Oh yeah...the one who decided to go with an onside kick.

H8R I must be wrong then, i saw him bobble it in the back of the endzone and run it out, did it bounce to him?

(No sarcasm)
