Favorite College Team?

28 posts in this topic

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering what everyone's favorite college teams are and why? I don't follow any certain team to much, I mainly watch college football to watch young talent and to check out NFL prospects. Also, college football has a lot more explosive long yard plays which are entertaining to see.

But my favorite teams are the University of Cincinnati (mainly because I am a student here) and my other favorite has recently become Missouri, I started following them towards the beginning of this season and after that performance against Georgia I would say I have become a fan.

So what are your guys' favorite teams/players and why?

Virginia Tech is my favorite NCAA football team.  Primarily because I live in Virginia and many of their recruits come from my area (i.e. Bruce Smith, Michael Vick, De Angelo Hall and Tyrod Taylor etc.).

I don't really consider myself a fan of any college team. I just like watching whatever games are playing on Saturdays, but I tend to watch the SEC games more, especially Bama and LSU for obvious reasons. If I had to pick a team to be a fan of, I'd say Maryland, but I don't get to watch many Terps games being out here in Frostburg for college. All I get to see are the SEC games and WVU.

UCLA Bruins....

Will probably change as I'm probably going to San Jose State to study computer programming, but for right now my Bruins are my team

I watch a lot of college ball, mostly ACC teams. I follow the Tarheels.  I also watch a lot of ECU games...they had a really good season.  Follow Georgia Bulldogs too because I have a former student playing for them currently.  Just love football, period! lol

Canes for every sport except basketball. Mostly because I was born in Miami and watched the early 2000's teams. For basketball I'm a duke fan since my dad went there for grad school and basically force fed me duke basketball as a child.

For basketball, I used to really like Pittsburgh because that's where Steven Adams went (and I got a press release from them when I covered Adams declaring too :D ). Still kinda do. At least, I don't hate them. I also like Gonzaga, basically because of how easy it is to make it GONZAGGAAAAAAAA. :P

Don't have an NCAAF team. Been following Vanderbilt and Washington this past season, though that did fall away a bit over time. At the moment I just try to watch and the idea is that one day a college may stick. I don't have a connection to any of them (aside from Pitt for that one reason) so I'm open to the possibilities, haha.

Sadly UMD

I work with a lot of Big 10 Alumni (Minn PSU and Neb) and they are licking their chops for Maryland's arrival!!!

My husband went to medical school at UF. I got my Masters there. I sort of feel like I'm supposed to root for them because of that connection. Truthfully, I root for the Gators also because I genuinely love the school. :) I also root for the Bearcats to do well because I'm from the Cincinnati area. I have a cousin who is currently on the Tennessee women's basketball team, so I am trying my best to cheer for them. I just can't break bread with another SEC school. That's difficult for me to do without becoming violently ill.

I am a canes fan. I wanted to play baseball so bad for them growing up. I loved watching them play in the college world series year in and year out. And who could forget the swag they had in football. Its all about the "U".

Towson University, Baltimore's team! Went there when they sucked, glad to see them succeed now.

Other than that, I watch Navy football.

Never been a UMD fan, but I don't hate them either. I just don't consider PG county as Maryland :P

I have differing interests in college football and basketball - in football, I tend to favor Mizzou, mostly due to their 1969 team, and also Michigan and Wisconsin - Michigan because I'm originally from Wyandotte, Michigan, and Wisconsin due to their 1962 team.

In college basketball I tend to enjoy Gonzaga - coach Mark Few has a good program in Spokane, and I do enjoy this team.

Now, in college lacrosse, I prefer to have my lacrosse from "Far Above Cayuga's Waters" - that's right, Cornell.

Virginia Tech by far my favorite College Football Team.

They never take the best recruits, but develop great players. And I love their defensive style, Bud Foster and Frank Beamer are great coaches!

DC's Big Ten team as of July 1, The Maryland Terrapins.  We will take our lumps in the B1G, but with the recruiting we will move up in a few years.  Its also Baltimore's team in that conference except for Johns Hopkins in men's lacrosse, an associate member starting in 2015.

One of my favorite college hockey sayings is "When you say Wisconsin, you said it all" based on an 70s Budweiser commercial.

Nevery knew this, Nightman - very interesting.  Thanks, I'll look this up online, maybe on YouTube.
