It took 6 games to figure out changes are needed along the line ?

That's more disappointing than the play of the O Line itself.

It's encouraging that coaches are to be assessed first, then players. I live in hope of there being a coaching change very shortly.

If there is a God in Heaven these changes will occur after the Bye week, we are better than 3-3, in all realism we should be 5-1 we have the talent to be. But these predictable play calls and the oline not executing, which i believe stems from the zone blocking scheme make it seem otherwise.

Really is frustrating when at the beginning of the season the Ravens had the best 1-2 punch with Rice and Pierce, now 6 games in averaging 2.7 a carry. pathetic. Harbs said it best have to put a hat on a hat.

Same thing happen last year before Cam was let, teams are just run blitzing up the middle every down. There's no one to work the middle of the field. Bolden and Pita are truly missed.

Why is Castillo trying to change things up on the O-Line? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Also, Why don't they let Joe come out throwing, like he did in the SB? Jacoby is back and should take some of the pressure off Torrey. Dallas Clark looked good on Sunday. Hope the offense gets going sooner, rather than later.

With us on the road for a while, and given a pretty lousy record of wins on the road over the years, now - right now - is a time for positive change in staff.

Every week there is excuses make the necessary changes and be done with it. The sideline energy is not really their in the start of the games as well. Someone needs to keep the team fired up I'm not loving that sideline body language we have played like a flat team and the results are 1-2 these past 3 weeks

like others have said, part of it is crappy play calling and part is horrible play by our OL. our offense is much more effective passing on 1st down, which opens up the run game or makes it easier with short yardage to go situations. this "hand it to rice every time on first down off guard or up the middle" is pathetic. if the defense stuffs it 3 times in a row, it should be switched.

it baffles me that the head coach or OC cannot figure this out within a few series. this seems to be an epidemic ravens issue that spans 10 years. they muddle along floundering away wins, while they painfully bang their head against the wall trying to do the same thing over and over with no success.

minus the awesome run in the playoffs, this is basically what we do every single year. perplexing inefficiency on offense all season with a few spurts of good play, and very good defense, that eventually can't shoulder the burden all game.

do we not have more running plays to try than an off tackle handoff? how about a trap or toss?
a quick 2 or 3 step drop pass to start some rhythm going? i can not really believe what i watch sometimes, because the play calling is so seemingly the same every game.

even with all that said, we could so easily be 5-1. that's the frustrating part.
i hope the blocking scheme and play calling gets better soon, or i think we may be looking at .500 at best.

No scheme is a good scheme if it doesn't take into consideration the players you have on the line. We had a pro-bowl runner, pro-bowl fullback, pro-bowl right guard and a line considered quite good. Then we changed how we do things, which is never a good thing, especially when it worked great before messing with it. I think for it going on game 7 and we are just realizing this is amazing when it should have been a game 2 half time adjustment.

BmoreB: they said that they had been tweaking it in the article.

They might as well been twerking as the tweaking has yielded no improvement.  :229031_rofl:

How in the heck did Gradkowski rate out the highest out of all the linemen...3 Sacks directly up the middle and he very well may be the worst football player on the entire team. Send this plant back to Pittsburgh, HE STINKS!

I don't care how we do it, but we need to get a hat on a hat, get some fire under our asses, and move the damn ball down the field. We need to play with some intensity. Let Ray and Peirce run down hill and pound the rock. I'm sick of this crap. It can't be that hard. We have been pretty good at it in the past, so go back to what we did in previous years. Besides Monroe and new center Gino Gradkowski, who got Pro Football Focus%u2019 highest grade of any Ravens offensive lineman Sunday, the other change to the run game has been the addition of Run Game Coordinator Juan Castillo.

^^^ just in case it didn't sink in the first time some people may have read it - GINO GRADED HIGHEST OF ALL RAVENS OL SUNDAY!!!

Everyone's quick to blame the OC or HC without realizing both of our RBs are still dealing with injuries and Draughn isn't ready to shoulder the carries needed to get the run game going. Simply put, they're still not where they need to be if we're expecting the run game to come back so we're going to need the OL to step up and take control of the trenches. We also need our WRs and TEs to start taking the pressure off of the run game by hanging on to the ball. That doesn't mean just Torrey Smith. Marlon Brown, Jacoby Jones, Ed Dickson, and Dallas Clark all need to step up in a big way and make more plays and catch more balls thrown their way. Flacco's going to need help if he's going to be that $120 million dollar, record-tying QB we all know he can be.

They obviously didn't see it the same way as you, not every player that comes "directly up the middle" didn't come directly up the middle.  There's one play that stands out where they blitzed "directly up the middle" - Gino was engaged with the nose tackle, KO slid over to the DE and they came with a 2 man blitz, Rice picked up one man and the other clobbered Flacco...the error was on KO sliding over to the DE and allowing the gap to open, that was a designed defensive blitz and they executed it as designed.  People need to get a better understanding of gap responsibility before they just blame Gino.  Bottom line, when the C is engaged with the nose tackle and they blitz the A gap, the guards are supposed to pick the blitzer up.
