The left tackle said that he played 'solid,' but was disappointed in a costly miscue that led to points.

Juan Castillo is our "Run Game Coordinator". Why is he still a part of this team?

Because it usually takes 4 seasons and 9 games before Harbs fires a friend he brought on to coach! lol

If that wasn't true it would be hilarious!!!!

What do you think about the game Mr. Dragon?

Everything wrong with the run game is not attributable to the line play! Many of you know that I am a Ray Rice advocate and I can see that he's hurt!

One man in space doesn't tackle a healthy Ray Rice! Granted, Gino's an undersized Center and not able to get push on runs, to hold his own, consistently! But Ray's not explosive, not getting open for passes,... not himself!

Whatever small creases are created, Ray is not Able to exploit! Why Bernie Pierce isn't exploding through some holes is anybody's guess!

This is your friendly reminder that Juan Castillo was run game coordinator during the playoffs and Super Bowl last year. The problem will not be resolved if we just "fire Juan."

sheesh

Last time I checked, missing blocking assignments and executing poor technique can't be solved by firing somebody who doesn't play.

Come on people.

Sir Budman, I wasn't expecting a win like we had over the Texans for sure! And even though Aaron Rodgers is a very accurate passer, I wasn't expecting a loss like we suffered in Denver either!

But I didn't expect Harbs to make two blunders that directly solidified and increased the Packer lead!

The Defense played magnificently against a wounded, yet elite NFC team, Budman.

Our offense was woefully ineffective! Missing Brandon Stokely to some extent but never giving Joe time to pass and never creating running lanes!

So, all in all, we played a mediocre game, winning in two of the three facets: defense and Special Teams,... but losing with our offense exacerbated by terrible coaching decisions at crucial points in the game!

Too subtle, pardner? ;)

While that is somewhat true,  It is Castillo's schemes that we are trying to implement. There's that.

castillo was apart of the team last year. To give insight only, He made no changes to how the run game was used last season. This off season he took over full duties. Which brought a zone blocking scheme.. our linemen are to fat and slow to block in zone. Hense the offensive struggles.

Now if you notice the 2nd half where they switched to man to man blocking. Flacco went 13-15 for 255 yd and 2 TDs.. running game picked up solid runs as well..

Harbaugh will never throw anyone under the bus, hense why he said no adjustments were made

Qadry Ismail said, "Don`t fix what ain`t broken." Harbs hires another buddy, cause he needed a job, and Castillo BROKE what was working.

And once again, another friendly reminder that we've been trying to implement a zone blocking scheme in the fashion of Houston ever since we acquired Leach. This is not something new that Castillo cooked up in the off-season.

Why don't you journalists do your job and ask real questions and right real articles like Gino should be benched! He is going to get Flacco seriously injured!! Have some cajunas and stop being scared to challenge Harbaugh! I understand he has a good personality, but yall need to do your jobs and stop being Mr.Nice guy to him!

Harbs needs to turn the "Run Game" back over to Andy Moeller. He was only in charge of it for how many years?? Although he has no ties to the Eagles.

Mystigo_Dragon the reason why none of the backs are explosive is because most of the time they were tackled behind the line. Notice how many second down and 12 or 13 we had yesterday?

So you all don't continue to be misinformed, here's what an opponent had to say about the Ravens' run game last year (I'll try to dig up the original articles from br.com about the change):

Steelers vs. Ravens: Keys to stopping Baltimore's zone running with Ray Rice

By Paper Champions on Nov 16 2012, 8:01a 59

Geoff Burke

The Chiefs had success against the Steelers in their zone-running concept with Jamaal Charles. Baltimore runs this same concept, as the Steelers know. How can Pittsburgh stop it?

During the Ravens season-opening win against the Steelers last year, Ray Rice had success running the outside zone (stretch) play against the Steelers' vaunted run defense. At the time, many people attributed the success to the Ravens new-found willingness to employ the dreaded chop-block against the Steelers defensive linemen - specifically, Matt Birk and guards Ben Grubbs and Marshall Yanda made life miserable for Casey Hampton.

Unfortunately it seems like the only ones who don't know we've been using the zone blocking scheme for a while now, sad to say, are some Ravens fans.

Nobody's saying anything about it, but the 4th down run at the goal line is about more than the decision or the word "execution." I'm sorry, but Monroe destroyed that play. He lunged at his guy and whiffed, same as the sack/strip before the half. His guy circled around him and totally blew up the play. Everyone else except Dallas Clark got a decent block there, Vonta totally cleared out AJ Hawk. Gino's guy dove at his feet which screwed up Yanda's pull to a lead block, which is what always makes that play work, but not much Gino can do about that. I liked most of what I saw from Monroe, but a couple of bad whiffs really screwed up the game.

Not only that, the journalist need to ask about this zone blocking and Juan Castillo! Why are we going with zone blocking? Because of Arian Foster? Overall, his stats over the last 3 years are just comparable with Rice's. Not different enough to warrant a change in philosophy to what the Texans do.
