I've been calling the NFC Championship as Packers/Saints since week 1, good luck to you guys.

I don't see it. Packers don't look that impressive to me.

I am happy to be 3-2 at this point.

In all fairness we are in a bad situation as Ravens fans, and you beat us. I do think your team will win their division. The teams in your division can't walk and chew gum at the same time. But they are looking like they are figuring it out this year. Great games ahead. Good Luck!

Bad situation? You guys won the super bowl last year. Things are great for you guys. I know you lost half your defense over the offseason but you guys have historically always had a great defense. Your defense is still solid from what I seen.

Read the other post on our boards. There is no way we should have only 47 rush yards and one TD vs your D.

Our D is underrated I think. Were getting better I think. You guys will be fine and will get better. Keep your head up.

Hey Baltimore fans it was a sloppy game on both sides of the ball. We didn't play well at all in the first half and couldn't get any offense going until the 3rd quarter. If you guys don't run another play at the end of the first half to try to get some points you probably win this game. I was surprised on how well our defense played until the end of the third quarter we started to get tired. Baltimore is a great football team and has nothing to be ashamed of. You guys won it all last year so don't get down at all. You almost came back and won this game at the end. I thought for sure we were going to blow it like we did in the SF and Cincy game. I wish you guys the best the rest of the season and hopefully no hard feelings. Thanks for being classy to us Packer fans the whole week leading up to the game.

Dude!  Come back sometime!  Maybe even pretend to be a Steelers fan!

I think they performed with fire and passion and were boosted, rather than demoralized by the recent rash of injuries.  Our O kind of helped at times, but the GB D played one heck of a game. Second half both defenses kind of melted at some point. We scored points pretty much at will and GB ate the clock with extended drives. I think you know that if we got the ball back, we were going to score.  It was a classic last drive for the bad guys that won the game.

Haha that's not what I said. I didn't really reference his comments specifically but here's what I said generally:

http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/topic/53584-injury-thread/page-12?p=1546090#entry1546090

Didn't call it BS, don't know why it was taken that way, it's probably true. However, the league is more concerned with head trauma than knee injuries. They're being sued for concussions - and not doing enough to stop them - not because of torn ACLs.

I'm not an apologist for the league or the owners but this is what they think is the best option. Try to cut down on head shots, penalize/fine offenders, neurological research, youth football programs on proper tackling, charitable donations, etc etc all in an effort to stop or nullify the lawsuits. They say it's about player safety, and part of it is, but mostly in regards to what the league will lose money off of. Similar concept as the QB hitting rules.

At least they're doing something about the concussions. It's a work in progress spurned on suddenly by that terrible week of head-hunting (Harrison, Robinson, Merriweather) in the league and the numerous lawsuits filed.

For the record, Matt Elam did not make a form tackle. It was legal and not "dirty" but not what the NFL "wants".

dangit! You're right. You didn't call it BS. I searched 2 whole pages of the thread to find it and you didn't.

However, you weren't buying the argument that it was a by-product of the poor execution of the league's attempt to make the game safer...unintended circumstances

Please though, stop giving credit to the league for "trying to make the game safer". They put a band-aid on a gunshot wound -----> them hiding what they knew about head trauma for years and years, and then when the curtains went up, they just throw a yellow flag for everything. They don't eject players. They just give the other team 15 yards.

While we are on the topic of re-hashing old convos, was that you that I was going back and forth with back in the spring about how awful Matt Schaub is? I can't remember who it was and I don't want to start an "I told you so" thread on him. That's a convo that I wanted to bring back after the 30-9 home win

Oh I know why the league is doing it and totally appreciate that they're covering their butt for decades of hiding the severity of head trauma. Said that back then too:

What's the alternative? Don't flag the headshots and continue getting sued by former players, keep scaring people from the game, have players blame their financial/behavioral problems on head trauma, and (heaven forbid) a couple more suicides? The leagues between a rock and a hard place on the issue. At least they're being proactive and confronting the issue instead of pushing it under the rug as they did for decades.

The NFL is just taking the most direct approach (in their mind) to stop these head injuries - eliminate head shots. There's a lot of things that come along with that - smaller strike zone being one of them.

And not me. I've never been a huge supporter of Shaub or had much of an opinion about him one way or the other.

Smaller strike zone definitely makes sense.

Lord knows if each team took the initiative to impose that on their players - teams like...the Baltimore Ravens...and players like Ed Reed...he wouldn't have been missing so many tackles.

Seriously, smaller strike zone would be a real good thing. Less missed tackles, while you got more safeties/corners with separated shoulders and nerve impingements in their neck, but heck that's a part of the game.

I am hard at work trying to find Mark Schlereth's comments on Mike & Mike this morning in reaction to Ndamukong Suh's fine for something from the Browns game.

He said it perfect ~'you have to settle a $765mm lawsuit but don't have to submit the information you had on the subject matter...'

Something along those lines. Hopefully it will be posted somewhere, and if it is I will post or PM to you.

That's usually the point of the settlement, keep most of the dirty stuff under the rug and avoid the legal process. But you're right this is going off course, it could continue in PM or a different topic?

Impressive at this part in the season means nothing. Ravens looked terrible in the 2nd half of the season last year. Just make the playoffs and anyone can get hot enough to win it all.
