Next up: Steelers Week!

297 posts in this topic

Come to what? The squealers might be done for a while, but the Ravens are a young Team on the rise. Hopefully all these new pieces begin to fit together this week for the win and we come out of the bye playing as a complete unit. We have two games to get right against the bungles and could peak at the right time again this year.

Talking about the present moment. Next year in the NFL is forever away and a whole different story....

Dizz - is that a barrel of a hand gun top RH corner?

If it is, I will correct him no more.

WOW  Ladies and gentlemen,  no trash talking?   CMON  make me feel good and try and verbally abuse me.  I have NEVER witnessed you guys so docile.  lol   It makes me feel unwanted.  :>)  Just because you will be tied with us in the loss column after Sunday and going into your bye week, should not depress you so much..  Look at it this way...you guys will add another 53 yards in running to your total for the year!!!!!!  and Slacco will be able to pad his passing stats by hitting 5 & 6 yarders and maybe they can run for 30 or 40 again while keeping his %;s up.  Heck , by the time the 4th qtr comes around , we should be winning by 14 and be in a prevent defense so his numbers can keep on track this year.  :>).

Well, its always a tough game.

The Steelers are down, down down. They have no offensive line at all.

If we lose this game, its pretty much a statement on how the year is gonna go.

We'll see, but we gave up over 100 yards rushing last week and we couldn't run the ball. I don't think those facts were lost on Pittsburgh's coaching staff.

I'm nervous. We mirror the Steelers. Strong D, no run game and an okay passing game. We seem a step or two better and the Steelers have shown some weakness against the run but that doesn't ease my mind the way we've run the ball.

It'll be a great battle.

we need to get a first down first lol

Wow.  I have done an awful lot of research on the running game lately but I hadn't really looked at this yet.

The average team in the NFL this season is getting 9.2 first downs per first half of each game they play.

We are getting 6.0 per game.  That's 36 first downs in the first half over 6 games.

We are 2nd to last in the NFL.  Only Jacksonville is worse, with 32 first half 1st downs over 6 games, for an avg of 5.3 per game.

The third worst is the Giants, with 39 over 6 games, for 6.5 per game.  We are sandwiched in between two teams that are winless.  No other team is average fewer than 7.5 first half 1st downs per game so far.

I dont either. But some people here are blaming the rest of the player and leaving flacco out as if his some god that cant be touched.

Well guess what? Flacco IS part of the problem. Flacco has to get better too. A lot better. If anything think flacco will be handed a basket of gift w/ pro bowl receivers and pro bowl line for the next 3-5 years, man they are kidding themselves. This is what flacco will have to face for the next 3-5 years w/ Ravens. His contract dictate he do so and his contract dictates he be the best player of this organization.

Of course his no where near that given his circumstances of bad oline, and run game. I dont ask him to put up top 5 QB statistically. Not even top 10 with the circumstance of the offense. But he shouldnt be sitting bottom of the barrell with rest of the QB losers.

Man, Joe Flacco has a similar QB Rating to Tom Brady this season.  What do you want from him?  His QB could be a lot better if not for the play of his pass catchers at times this season.  I count up at least 3 interceptions that could be scratched from his record, and 4 touchdowns that could be added, not to mention about a couple hundred more yards, if his receivers made a few routine plays this year rather than letting balls bounce off their hands and sometimes into the hands of the opponent.  But the game isn't about ifs and buts, so those are on his stat sheet, that's fine.  I'm just asking that you understand the situation Flacco is in and how you can't just look at his QB rating and say he isn't doing his job.  He is doing *more* than his job, but it's not going to show up on any stat sheet with the way the rest of the offense is playing around him.

Maybe if the offense didn't commit constant penalties and make third downs shorter than 3rd and 9+ yards they would be better.

Also not sure if mentioned earlier in this thread but with all the talk of Jameel returning to practice etc, Bynes having an infected finger or whatever the issue is, I'm waiting to hear about Arthur Brown getting more time, starting etc.

Bynes has an infected finger? He hasn't been hanging out with any Tampa Bay guys has he?

From the front page  "

Bynes Has Infected Finger

Ravens inside linebacker Josh Bynesicon-article-link.gif has an infection in his finger, according to Head Coach John Harbaugh.

Bynes cut the finger a couple of weeks ago and went to the hospital Tuesday night because of it. He did not practice Wednesday.

“He got good news. It’s good; it’s clearing up,” Harbaugh said.

If Bynes has trouble coming back, the Ravens may have the option of activating Jameel McClainicon-article-link.gif. McClain returned to the field for the first time in 10 months and practiced fully.

Why no mention of Brown, its a joke in my opinion to seek anything from mcclain who hasnt practiced in nearly a year.

Per Rotoworld, Jarvis Jones has a concussion and is likely to miss this week. If he does, then part of me feels bad for how many injuries the Steelers have accrued. Tough situation for them.

And this thread is relatively light compared to Steelers games of the past.

Packers were injury ridden @ defense, Bills had zero starting secondary.   doesn't seem like it matters much when it comes down to opponent's D going against us.   our offense is bad whoever they face.

I'm looking at the betting lines and all the expert picks for the game wanting to bet on baltimore and for some reason everyone is on the steelers, can someone please explain to me how a 1 win team are the faves? Do baltimore have a lot of injuries I don't know about?

I live in Pgh and want to go to this game so bad! I hate being poor! But seriously, this really could be anyone's game. The Steelers are hungry for a win and are trying to reclaim their pride. They'll be extra motivated so here's hoping our offense can get it together.

i feel the same way about this game. i will be going to the thanksgiving game in baltimore. i live in los angeles, ca. Im kinda nervous going to this game. ill be traveling and attending this game alone. idk what to expect. i was kinda hoping i could link up with other fans and get to enjoy the game with some good company. possibly make some friends; if anyone else is going to that game, lets chill. 1st round is on me!

I'd like him to put up numbers in line with the payday he sought and win... When or if he ever does that this season I'll give him credit for a week. Right now he hasn't had any game that makes me say I'm glad the Ravens paid this guy.

It's week 7 where is our quarterback????

Dude, you seriously post this same thing over and over again. Where is our qb? Most of the time hes on the ground because our Oline is THAT bad. Couple that with having almost nobody to throw to and you get Flacco playing is ass off in all but 1 game this year while losing 2 of those game through no fault of his own.
Give him a completely healthy Pitta and Jones with an Oline that protects..and you'll see a $120m QB

Looks like Kelvin Beachum is officially filled in as steelers LT. He generally stinks. But he had a great game vs. Suggs/Kruger last year. Hope we dont make a mistake of giving this dud another good performance.

Don't feel bad for them! Theyve beaten us when we had 3rd sting QBs starting for us, and a backup starting at almost every position on defense. Their fans still thrashed us telling us to stop making excuses.

Screw them, I hope their whole team, water boy, trainer, coaching staff, owner, and every single one of their front running bandwagon fans who have never even been CLOSE to the city of Pittsburgh get carted off the field and listed as doubtful to return.

We HATE them, remember? Even when they suck.

In a week where my brother in law was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident and a friends house burnt down and lost his 2 puppies, I really need this win. Wont even get to watch the game as the funeral is on at the same time, but a win will be a ray of light in some dark times!

Pretty much this. We have to kick 'em while they're still down.
