Next up: Steelers Week!

297 posts in this topic

They're 1-4 and we're 3-3, and I saw in the Sun that they were favored?

c'mon!  by the way the Ravens offense has played for 6 weeks now, surely you can't be surprised that the steelers or any other team (regardless of their record) would be favored over the Ravens?  c'mon!  smh!  lol!

i have only 1 concern. heath miller. hes playing well and trust me the steelers know that the weak link in our secondary is our midget, short armed, no verticle rookie. miller is smart and will force elam to be his matchup. i have 0 confidence in matt elam. it would not shock me if he played every single snapthis year and didnt have 1 interception.

Atleast we'll get to see the best QB to ever play for Pittsburgh in this game:

79828319-quarterback-joe-flacco-of-the-u

Can't believe that Pitt wouldn't start this guy. :P

Much worse than Evans...they get to keep Levi Brown for years to come :P

well the only good thing about this trade was that their were no guarantees with his contract... God that would have been the icing on the cake.  We will need a lot of help on the left side, which will limit Bens targets and help every defense cover our WR's.  All of this will require additional seconds to protect Ben...IOur situation is dire and will feed on itself hmmmmm   Unfortunately, Even with the help from RB's and TE's , they( our left guard and tackle along with a RB or TE) will not stop elite LB's from killing Ben..  I can even see a defense that fakes blitzing on our left side and overload the right side and kill us from both sides. God forbid if we get another injury on our line, we will then have to go to one of our local High schools to pick someone up or even worse put Mike Adams in again.  :>)  My only glimmer of hope is that we survived the Jets defense ( #2 so far this year ) and the fact that we had no turnovers last week and are playing at home, we can get to the 4th qtr and let Ben be Ben.

Not even close man.

We are tied at the bottom with Jacksonville for the lowest YPC and Flacco is #4 for the most sacks. Not even close.

As for the Sports writers lmao! Yes man! They are absolutely biased!

Edit: and one more thing. If it's a turnover battle, you lose! Your defense just got their first INT this past week! smh

Steelers rank 31st in Rushing this year and I cannot imagine anyone that has been sacked more than Ben even with his escape ability.  He has also taken a tremendous amount of hits after the throw and its not going to get any better this week..  God I just realized I am arguing with a Ravens fan on who has the worst OL and running game.  LOLROF  Damn this has been a depressing year...:>)

I know, right?  We just had farther to fall and it just seems like we have the worst.

No worries, we get well this week.   Go :argdancingravensblueonwkk8:

That's funny actually, because I seriously think you are playing us at a bad time.

We took a close, tough loss to GB and our offense actually found it's footing late in the game. We're getting healthy now and I expect that offense to continue the upward trend.

Not to mention we do like to win at the ketchup field for some reason.

I agree with you that the Steelers are a team that is better than their record suggests right now. I just think that the Ravens are a little further turning the corner than the Steelers at the moment.

im quoting you but im responding to all the people who quoted me, I hope you don't mind.

the ravens will be up for this game and the fact that you lost last week certainly doesn't help.......but in the jets game we fixed a lot of our problems, we got to the QB, we turned the ball over, and we didn't lose it ourselves

we have a lot of talent that has been hidden by other major problems.......and now we are sick of losing

and brown going down before taking a snap actually made me laugh because it was just so typical of our O-LINE

We lost to Buffalo in a game we should have won. We lost, at the Bank, to the Packers in a game we should have won. We face a 1-4 Steeler team, on the road, in a game that we should win.

I see a re-run of Sunday's offensive performance in a pathetic struggle against an inept team. But I sure am wish'n n hope'n for a Raven win.

LOL

so true man, so true.

Okay well, sorry but Ben is #5 for sacks, and Flacco has taken those monster hits after the throw as well. You are #31 for YPC and we are tied for #32.

Man that is just depressing to even type that lol

This could be just a very sad game.

I'll make a prediction. I have bet each Ravens game this year and only lost the Bills game 5-1. Usually i bet soley AFCN teams, the division i know the best was 4-0 last Sunday betting lions, Steelers, bills and took GB on the $ line. This one is Easy. The major difference here is Steelers dont get pressure or sacks or force turnovers. Ravens defense is the best unit on the feild in this game. Ravens get sacks and hurries and will shread the Steelers oline. Steelers dont have a number 1 WR, AB is a number 2. Ravens win, don't get me wrong it will be Ugly. Another thing why do the Ravens play horrible when they wear the black jerseys? Leave the black tops in lockerroom.

Never can I remember being so underwhelmed for a Ravens/Steelers game.

Ravens games are starting to get to the point of painful to watch win or lose.

It will probably be a 6-3 ballgame by the fourth quarter and then suddenly touchdowns will be scored right up until the end due to two tired defenses.

"starting" to get to the point of being painful to watch?  brah!  with me...they've been that way since week 1.  lol!  nothing has changed up to this point 6 weeks into the season.  so what would I "like" to see or "expect" to see on Sunday?  I'd "like" to see a very good Ravens offense and defense that plays with extreme confidence and swag that know that they can beat any team in the nfl and to play a solid game for the win and look like the Superbowl Champs in doing so instead of looking like the bad news bears.  what do I "expect" to see?  well...I have 6 weeks of game film of much of the same ole' same ole' from this offense.

What's really sad is that the Bengals are in the drivers seat and they have a joke at QB. How did it come to this?

Come to what? The squealers might be done for a while, but the Ravens are a young Team on the rise. Hopefully all these new pieces begin to fit together this week for the win and we come out of the bye playing as a complete unit. We have two games to get right against the bungles and could peak at the right time again this year.

Basically, this game will come down to the "Turn over" game. Both run games suck, both OL's suck, but you guys have an edge on us, QB's - I give it to Ben because of his escape ability and overall talent. Running backs - I will give to you by a slight margin, WR & TE's I give to us and special teams I give a slight favor to you. DL- You win and DB's and S's I give a slight edge to you because of your DL and LB's. Overall, no matter what you say or think about your team...the above analysis is fact. If turn overs and special teams are equal during the game, we will win because of Ben. If he can escape a few times,( BIG IF- we have one step up from a High school left tackle ) we have the edge on our WR and TE's. Even with our non existent LT, we will throw short passes and screens to ease the pressure off of Ben and then we might get lucky on a few runs or 15 -20 yard passes down the middle. If Ben does get time look for some bombs. Anyway, the turn over battle and special teams will dictate the outcome. We have been slaughtered in this area 4/5 games. I am a betting man, but I would not bet on this game. Once again, we should expect a 3 point or less win by either team. Since I am wearing my Black and Gold glasses, I think the Stillers by 3. :>)

I agree with a lot of this. Flacco has proven to be better than Ben in clutch spots when needed the past few years over the previous years. I call this a wash though.

Where you hit the nail on the head as for the determining factor is the special teams. Steelers coverage has been inexplicably atrocious the last 2+ years. With jacoby back this gives the ravens the edge. With ugly offensive output and a couple of huge raven returns I will predict a 20-16 victory. With 5 total turnovers on both sides that will be a near wash leading to most of the scoring. Ben has fumbled at very in opportune times this year behind a worse online than the ravens.

Wasn't it the coach's son that started in front of him?  Bet there's some angry Pitt alum.

Looks like T-Sizzle chose a very fitting costume to wear at Lardarius Webb's birthday party, with the Ravens playing at Heinz Field, this week, and everything... https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BWof9YBIEAATKvP.jpg:large

My man Suggs.

The other costumes are pretty great as well.

Edit: Any idea who the baby and gladiator are? They're pretty cool too.

We can win this game if we trade head coaches. I like the move Tomlin made this week when he banned end zone flips. A little discipline never hurts. Coach Harbaugh should take a page out of his book and discipline some of our players who continue to make stupid penalties.

I dont either. But some people here are blaming the rest of the player and leaving flacco out as if his some god that cant be touched.

Well guess what? Flacco IS part of the problem. Flacco has to get better too. A lot better. If anything think flacco will be handed a basket of gift w/ pro bowl receivers and pro bowl line for the next 3-5 years, man they are kidding themselves. This is what flacco will have to face for the next 3-5 years w/ Ravens. His contract dictate he do so and his contract dictates he be the best player of this organization.

Of course his no where near that given his circumstances of bad oline, and run game. I dont ask him to put up top 5 QB statistically. Not even top 10 with the circumstance of the offense. But he shouldnt be sitting bottom of the barrell with rest of the QB losers.

Your expectations are very reasonable, maybe I was wrong in assuming you were another mindless Flacco critic.

Just like I don't believe him being 5th in passing yards means anything, neither does a QBR. Stats in general are unreliable, but the way this offense around him has played, it all goes completely out the window.

Try this little exercise on Sunday. Instead of focusing on Flacco, focus on the rest of the offense, and then ask yourself what a qb (any qb, not just Flacco) can do to help them improve.

You're not wrong. Some think if the man makes big $ he should be able to turn water into wine.
