Next up: Steelers Week!

Found this Rich Eisen tweet disturbing....

@richeisen: Jacksonville leads the league with most offensive 3-and-outs with 29. Next up? @Ravens with 26.

I'm tired of being nice. The Steelers... and their fans can eat on a crap sandwich and wash it down with a  bleach/arsenic cocktail..

Brah!  you and me both!

Check this out H8R.  So my wife and I just travelled to California yesterday.  Whenever I fly; I like to sport one of my Ravens jerseys and a hat.  It never fails!  Someone always has something to say to me about the Ravens.  Always!  Well, while at the airport in Charlotte, we're in a thick crowd of people walking towards my next gate to Cali and my wife notices a female starring me down.  As we get closer to her; she surprisingly hollers out to me..."Hey!  My steelers are gonna shock ya'll on Sunday!"  I just looked at her with a serious face and said; "Really"  Then she said; "I know we just won a game and we are 1-4 but how many Championships do we have?  We got 6!"  Brah!  After that, I just shook my head and said to her; "All you steelers fans have been indoctrinated to spit out the same old tire and weak line over and over and over again even when your team is stinking up the joint and it's just down right pathetic that you all sound so much alike!"  Then she laughed and told me, "Good luck sir!"  LOL!

Check again. You typed "bit" for "but".

Oh well uh....Where I come from the two are used interchangeably. :P

But still that is a just simple typo.  :)

Still got a *bit* before Gametime *but* I really expect the steelers to suck this week :)

What you did there...I see it. :)

Don't worry I'm here all week

Me too unless we lose tomorrow...In that case I'd have to take an exodus from this board until the next game day..

Disturbing perhaps, but not remotely surprising. I just wonder what their average yards to go are on third down.

Probably less than ours.

It's just as bad as those 49ers fans who were saying they couldn't lose the Super Bowl because they'd been five from five in Super Bowls at that point.

Remind me, how did the Montana and Rice combo work out for them in February?

I told my buddy while devouring a delicious lunch at Lemon and Ginger that this game is gonna be the game the Ravens showcase that their problems are over. This is gonna be the game where we kick it into high gear; the gloves are coming off. No more messing around. We're gonna give the Steelers an out-right shellacking tomorrow. We're gonna go against the grain, we're gonna surprise the entire country and come out slinging the rock all over the place. We're not gonna continue pounding our foreheads against the brick wall by trying to run it, we're gonna put it in Joe's hands and Marlon, Torrey, Jacoby and company are gonna have a field day. Sure, I was drunk when I made this proclamation, but I stand by what I said. We're gonna shove past the Steelers. I predict a complete demolishing of the Steelers tomorrow, Ravens 37, Steelers 3.

Mod 3!!  I made a disparaging remark about Ben and you removed it! How dare you!   :268213:

It would be nice to beat them handily, but the run looks to play a role.

Reports are the Ravens have applied triage to the running game. Traditionally to beat Pittsburgh you have to take them on physically. If we don't pound it at them, it would be a surprise.

I'm worried about L'veon Bell pounding it at us.

Well, I for one, who has watched every super bowl over the last 45 years ( I am 57) I have never used that line when talking about our next game.  We all know that means as much as what happened last year or even our last game.  I also have watched our last 5 games.  We lost our center during our first 6 plays of the season and had a LT that should not be in a college game at LT.  We have turned the ball over due to the issues on our OL.  We had to use a second string RB for those games with even them getting hurt and had to bring back our 3rd string RB that we released.   All of this had major ramifications in the outcome of those games.  What this lady stated is VERY true.  You will not see 4-5 turnovers at critical points in this game.  You will see we have an OK Center and an OK LT now versus the first 4 games.  We also have our RB ( leveon Bell, playing now so we at least have some semblance of a running game or at least better than the first 4 weeks. We also have our all pro TE Miller now.   I am VERY aware of Dummerville and Suggs and our average OL now but our Offense will produce a lot more plays now that we do not have Mike Adams playing LT.

Overall, I know all of you do not care about all the reasons we are 1-4 but you will be very surprised today.  Our defense had a bad game against Minnesota with missed tackles and long runs for scores, but this is atypical and once again you will be very surprised today. Just like your defense, if you take away 4-5 plays against them they would be a top 5-6 defense.   Even though we do not have the tandem of Suggs and Dummervile , we have a very good run and pass Defense.....especially against what your Offense has to offer.   Flacco better have his "a" game or else.  His passing numbers are good this year but a lot of your fans only look at the numbers and nothing else......a lot of his passing yards have come from your opponents being in "prevent" defense....... and from little dinky passes and long runs afterwards.  I for one am not impressed with him as usual ( I have not been forever)   Yes I know he has had many dropped passes and no OL but we will see how he plays today.

Your only hope today is blitzing our left side and getting to Ben.  This is very possible but if you think we do not KNOW this and will run screens and short crossing routes to slow these guys down,  your sadly mistaken.  You will also be surprised about our non existent running game. ( It wont be great but even one or two runs will also allow us to keep  your LB's from attacking too often. You have a VERY good defense but are suspect in the passing game and if we start hitting our receivers you will give us the opportunity to run.

I can add a lot more here relative to all of you stating that you are playing a 1-4 team but will just reiterate .......You will be very surprised today if you think your Ravens will roll over our 1-4 team.     See and I never stated we had 6 trophies in my argument.  :>)  If turnovers and ST's are equal.....you might be very surprised and sad around 7:30 tonight

no one thinks we will roll over the steelers that would be foolish . we are all looking forward to a hard hitting injury free game on both sides. I think we have more hope then blitzing on the left side if you have watched football for 40 plus years its amazing you are clueless as to the talent the ravens have and there ability to match up to the steelers. I can't say I have ever went to another teams website but it sure is fun to respond to fans when they smack talk

Well if you re-read my statement , I never stated anything about how you match up to us or anyone.  My whole jist was about how we are different than what you have seen( or not seen) for our first 4 games and how we might overcome your defense relative to sacks and having Ben being killed. .  ( this possibility is still a major concern for me )  Other than that, I have read and listened to your own fans and even sports writers talk about winning this game without mentioning that we now have different personnel in the game and not mentioning the 3 fumbles and 2 interceptions per game because of said personnel.  Any analyst or fan that thinks that the Steelers will continue turning the ball over 3-5 times per game better re-evaluate their position.or simply not put their money where their mouth is. We are much better than our record.   That is all I am saying and once again never spoke about how good or bad we match up or that this is not going to be a tough game.  Once again, we have different players now ( heck we even have Ben now versus all last year,,lol)  OMG  once again you won last year but no one mentions that Ben did not play and that you won by only 3 points with our 2nd and 3rd stringer playing QB....once again history is nice to remember but has a totally different perspective when ALL the facts are known relative to the outcome. Fast forward and the same is true relative to our first 4 games this year.

Anyone that knows this rivalry has no thoughts of it being an easy game no matter the record of either team. pburgh could field 22 guys from the Iron City Brewery and they would play us tough. Just the way it is.

That said, I have to laugh at your saying "our only chance is blitzing..... etc."   Are you kidding? I think are chances are much better than having to rely on selling out with the blitz. And even if the squealers do manage to score some points, our O is much better than they have shown so far this year. Joe and Co. are just too talented to stay in the funk that has plagued them most of this season.

Yes, we have had our issues this year on both sides of the ball, but it's all been about execution and it's going to come together at some point. My guess that time will be today and it just may be that you are the one who is very surprised and sad tonight around 7:30. This game usually brings out the best in players on both squads and I think if you are honest with yourself, you know the Ravens are by far the better Team.

that's the point these two teams match up very well football is all about match ups. I don't think your purpose is to discuss this game its more to rant about your team and smack talk . don't you have a steelers forum cause I doubt anyone on this forum is going to agree with you .enjoy the game

Point well taken...just so you know, I do not consider it smack taking when I state my case with facts as well as wearing my Black and Gold Glasses...:> .  Anyway it will be a good game and I am looking forward to it.  I just came across this and thought it was interesting....

sorry I misspoke .....your right...my bad about "blitzing" although it scares me also.  Keeping Ben out of traction or a wheel chair.is all I am saying. I was referring to your high number of sacks this year and our non existent left OL. .  I am hoping we can minimize the amount of sacks and hurries.  God forbid if one of our OL goes down. Anyway, I did give the impression that you have to only blitz to get to Ben. and I know better and understand you have a good run defense as well.  Just saying if we can keep Ben upright I like our chances......... Once again that is a big "IF".  Looking forward to the game

You know the game has lost its luster when Ian Eagle is calling the game, he usually does Buffalo and Tennesse type teams. I think the Ravens pass underneath alot with Pittsburgh linebacker problems and then deep a half dozen times. Neither team wants to give up big play. Steelers secondary has been pretty bad also in Clark, gay and Allen. Troy has lost a step also but still a playmaker.

Haha. Typical. I love to follow up the "6" talk with the question " Name the years of those Championships?"... they generally can't
