Favorite Current Raven?

168 posts in this topic

With Ray Lewis and Reed gone, the obvious faces of the franchise, which guys now do you like watching most?

Im huge on Torrey Smith. Ive always liked him but the dude is strictly business at this point and seems to be molded by Anquan. Without Pitta, he's the only player who can make the spectacular grabs that you see the AJ Green's, B Marshalls, and Andre Johnson's make. He uses his hands to catch the ball, he adjusts very well to trajectories and is completely reliable and I feel like is a polished receiver who will only get better.

Haloti Ngata is number two.

Suggs. It'll be a long time before I completely accept that we can't/won't be a defensive team, and he's the last holdover of that era, still seemingly in his prime.

I think yanda should be shown some love as well. He and flacco have been the most consistent offensive players this era.

Defensively has to be Suggs and ngata. Daryl smith is playing great ball this year. But doesn't have the longevity here

This is like trying to choose my favorite kid...

Exactly what I thought at first. So many to choose from

This is such a difficult question because of all the great characters on the Ravens and the unsung heroes.

But.. Sizzle all the way.. What can I say? I became a Raven and football fan because of the idea of the vaunted defense and now that Ray is gone Suggs has grown on me since the beginning of the 2011 season.

Joe would also be a favorite, it's such a hard decision because Joe and Suggs each make their side of the ball what it is, to be honest. Suggs is a force and without Joe being Joe the offense would sputter - and fast. So it's a tossup, but because of why I became a Ravens fan in the first place Suggs takes that spot. I'm sure once he eventually retires Joe will have taken that spot over, however.

Joe, Pitta, Torrey, Suggs, Jacoby and in no particular order.

Ah hell, who am I kidding? I love my team and I support every Ravens team-member wholeheartedly.

Interesting fact: Pitta and I share the exact same Birthday! :) Although not the same year :P

I honestly think it's too hard to be able to single out anyone person as a clear favorite; there are so many personalities that make up and illustrate our team. You love Joe for his uncanny ability to shrug off any and all pressure. Torrey for his humor and straight business that he exhibits on the field--especially the emotion that he brings. Pitta's ability to also stay cool, similarly to Joe, and the effort he also exhibits on the field. Suggs because he's a big ol' man-child at times and you've just got to love him for it. And Jacoby for his extreme humor and likable personality.

The saying "whose got it better than us?" really should be applied to us--because I'm sure thankful for our wonderful organization.

Honorable mentions: Haloti, Yanda, Tucker, Webby.

Actually, Courtney Upshaw's one of my favourites. I never properly got into the NFL until 2011, and I picked the Ravens during THAT game at Heinz Field. I'd had one eye on the Ravens for a while, but he was the first guy drafted that I was really paying attention to. I loved him at Alabama and I'm still looking forwards to seeing how his career pans out (sadly Ozzie probably lets him walk when his rookie deal expires).

As you'd expect from any Saban-coached player, his fundamentals are brilliant and I love seeing him do well - either setting the edge and solidly wrapping a guy up or stuffing someone for a loss or sniffing out a big play and getting a tidy sack.

Kind of a dark horse pick really, but I thought I'd throw his name out there. :)

Torrey Smith for sure.  We met him and I have to say he has to be one of the nicest down to earth guys I ever met.

Second would definitely have to be SIZZLE!  He is imo the new face to the franchise.  Joe deserves all my respect and more.  But Sizzle just personifies the high tempo adrenaline that Ray used to bring.

Webb and Suggs. I really like Elvis and Daryl as well.

On offense, I like our receivers the most. Torrey seems like a cool dude and Marlon Brown seems very humble.
