Is he really? I was under the impression that vets were guaranteed IF they are on the roster week 1. He wasn't. I thought he was just playing for game checks.

Bajema was on the roster week 1.  He was re-signed just before the Broncos game, and played in it as well.

There's no one that fits that week by week veteran pay on the team this year.  It's been pretty commonly mistaken that Bajema was that guy this year because he didn't make the original roster.  Once we were able to put Pitta on the IR/DTR, Bajema was back on the roster in time (before the first game) to guarantee his pay for the year.  You aren't the first one to think he's playing week to week, though.

I really feel bad for the guy. Even if he is guaranteed pay it has to be frustrating.

I'm sure he'll be back. While I was trying to find out how many times he's been cut in his career, I found what has to be one of the best sentences I've ever heard. From his wikipedia page:

How can we keep cutting a guy that nearly single handedly contributed to a touchdown?!?

 

Yeahh, all he did was go in motion. If the Ravens want to sign me and put me in motion to "singlehandedly contribute" to a touchdown, I think I could do that too.

Lol yes.  I like Billy, but I know he's pretty expendable.

 

The fans (myself included) have just grown an odd infatuation with the guy for some reason.
