Joe Flacco is the man

4,135 posts in this topic

It gets on my nerves when people make excuses for flacco. Throughout Joes career he has consistently under thrown, overthrown, and just flat out missed wrs wide open. Think about if Joe was drafted by the bucs or something. Do you think he would even have anything similar to this contract? I don't think so. He came into a great situation, but to be honest I don't trust him even as a vet now. He has greatly benefited from this organization, great defense over the years, great owner, solid talent on offense and to his credit he won a super bowl. But to me hes a very average qb on a consistently good team. His stats also back up what I'm saying, and weirdly his stats have been regressing as hes going into his prime years.

Kinda agree

Last year Flacco was getting ripped in the middle of the season but

he just happen to get very hot last year during the playoffs.....thus the big payday...

That 4 game window in the playoffs got him so much money. The falcons gave Matt Ryan a new contract with one year on the deal remaining, while Joe had to play it out. I don't hate flacco at all, but hes paid as one of the best qbs in the league when in reality hes not. His contract will effect this teams future good or bad.

I have no problem with Joe Flacco. He's contributed to our losses but these losses aren't on him. He can't block guys and run the ball and throw the ball. He's not super human. I think Flacco is playing well considering. On a bright note, we seem to be getting some chemistry with Flacco and these new WR.

I agree but the  way he was playing against the browns in the first half didn't look good at all. It was like Joe Flacco didn't even care at times or should I say he was completely off with his throws

Irony... I mentioned last week that he cannot keep taking hits like this. He's gonna go down one day and not get up. He talked about that in his presser. He's the most hit QB in the league right now. Right behind Roethlisburger.

I do agree with you that he is getting better with the wr's, that is if he can get the ball close to them consistantly, but in second h alf he def. was clicking at times, it is cause for hope at least !!

He didn't look good early but he's had it tough. I understand what you're saying and I know he was playing poor. I agree. What I'm saying is the OL wasn't great. He's getting no help from the run game or his OL. Flacco is at his best when he can have a run game. I think he needs it. He's slow to start. He needs to get into a rhythm and he's not.

guess i knew what i was talking about huh ..........how about yesterday for evidence !!!!!........now who knows what there talking about ??

Certainly not you!. Flacco either passed or ran for 15 of our 19 first downs.

Where's the rest of the team? Flacco WAS our entire offense with his arm AND his feet from the end of the first half and the rest of the game. He was the only one playing like it mattered.

Where is Rice?

Where is our O line?

Where the bleep was our defense? The offense put the game in their hands with 6:45 left only down by 3 pts. We never saw the ball again. As usual this season.

I'll give Doss a sort of pass for his ST snafu only because he's proven to be a great returner but it's his only one.

Flacco had some realy? passes in the first half, no one is denying that but he got the job done in the 2nd half nearly single handedly.

Anyone blaming Flacco for this loss either has an agenda or zero football knowledge.

Nice vague comment!

Why don't you follow-up with some actual facts?

You have no facts so you post little one word sentences like you know something. Which it is apparent you do not.

We're all still waiting for any fact, stat, figure anything from you that supports anything you say.

You can look up all my stats. They are all there on the game breakdown and all fact.

"Joe is the man" , this thread makes me chuckle every time I come here. I shouldn't be surprised Boller had his supporters too and he was terrible.  Joe is a game manager.

Garcia was correct in his analysis.

Good post.  I agree with it completely but would like to add from what I've seen Flacco can't put this or any team on his back and that is the kind of money he asked for.

Raven fans be prepared for tough times ahead. The more pct. of the Ravens salary cap Flacco gets the tougher it will be to compete.

Hence, no playoffs until Flacco is jettisoned.

what you forget is the front office had a chance to pay joe prior to last year, they declined, they took the risk, they lost. It's the front offices fault joe is paid so much because they were prepared to wait, and it backfired. They couldn't not pay him after the play off run. Joe trusted himself and won. I firmly believe he will get hot again, wether that translates to wins, I'm not sure, because he isn't the reason we are losing.

The main problem, that if fixed, would turn this team in a Super Bowl contender is the oline.

IDK why, but even on the plays where has time to throw he's just off as of late...the last touchdown to Brown was off, the deep strike to smith was off, the int was wayyyyy off...idk. I believe Joe will get things fixed, but it may be not until next year, cause he's definitely in a funk.

True, but mainly for the sake of the running game. Not that Joe wasn't under duress, but there were a LOT of off target throws that were made from a clean pocket yesterday... I hope he's not letting the pressure from other plays rattle him, making him hear footsteps or what have you... I know it isn't all on him, but he isn't playing as well as he can and should...I love Joe, he's my favorite player, but he's not played a complete game this entire season, except maybe the first Browns game where he had three touchdowns dropped...

We haven't gotten in rhythm because we've just been getting killed on offense.  Can't stay on the field, can't play good ball.

I dig you , I had a moderator take down a thread of mine regarding Flacco in week nine, tell me it could have went elsewhere and issued me a warning. LOL   I guess I won't be starting any more threads , so he'll have to manufacture something else.

If you're respectful of others even at times when it shouldn't be expected I guess that's the kind of treatment you get here, when the mods don't agree with what you post but have no other reason to reprimand you.

Not sweating it because  the mods are the Ravens representatives and good or poor treatment will ultimately leave a lasting impression on any business transactions in the future.

Keep the head up and enjoy reading your thoughts!

Joe Flacco use to be a great game manager that has a deep ball.  Now, I think he is reaching trying to live up to a contract that he knows he doesn't deserve.

I'm sorry that Hail Mary in the middle of the field was the dumbest play i have seen in a while.  It looked like a end of half or end of game bomb.

and he was awesome!

I don't need Joe to throw 50-60 times a game to "prove" that he deserves that money!  I need him to do what "we" (Ravens organization) need him to do!  control the game!  establish the power running game!  mix in play action!  mix in a few screens, slants, ins, outs and curl routes.  take a few shots here and there down field etc.  it has been a winning formula that the Ravens got away from in hopes of being a more fast paced and no huddle type of team.

We may have the worst running game in NFL history. There is no controlling these games. Right now our best chance is to stop wasting downs trying to "run to set up the pass." We have no choice but to take on the risk involved with "passing to set up the run." Even though our offense is not designed to do this, it's the only way.

On the mark here!

Joe in the past had enough cast around him to make up for the warts in his game. Cam tried to hide Joe's weaknesses, he knew his game, he understood Joe was limited.   Joe sought the highest payday in football and will never be able to live up to that contract because putting up gaudy numbers will never be his type of game. He is too inconsistent with his ball placement and accuracy.   The great quarterbacks have the ability to stack 65 plus completion Pct. seasons something Joe has never met.  This is all Joes doing because of the contract he demanded.

I would have had much more respect for him if he like Ray Rice said I feel I'm worth more but will settle for this.  Rice is a team player , Flacco cashed in and took care of himself at the teams expense.

What ever happened to the "Joe just wins"  crowd?  I guess hiding under the same rock as the " Joe will turn it on in his sixth year" gang.

Like I have always said , Joe  is a mediocre quarterback that got paid way too much and benefited by the cast around him.

When his real money kicks in and the Ravens jettison other talent that should be here like Boldin, the chickens will be coming home to roost. We haven't seen anything yet.

I hate to say it but you and i have said this for awhile now.  Its put up or shut up time for Flacco.  This is his sixth season and by all accounts he has regressed yet again.

He was decent Mili.  To be honest he had one good run in the postseason that netted him a huge payday.  He can no longer be a game manger at that figure.  He needs to hit open receivers and win games.  He has crippled the team with that paycheck.  More so Joe ain't nothing without Boldin i said it when we got rid of him.  Pitta might help but Boldin is who we miss the most.  Flacco is just a little above average QB in this league.

This is a great article about the ravens qb and totally supports why I was hoping that we had put the franchise tag on Flacco and hoped the Browns or some other team would have given us there first to get him.

http://touch.baltimoresun.com/#story/bs-sp-preston-column-ravens-1104-20131103/

In all reality we would have had enough cap space for the years that are coming for future talent... Make no mistake Flacco had a great playoff run last year but we are now seeing what he does without his security blanket of Boldin Pitta and luck of Jones of last year.
