Joe Flacco is the man

4,135 posts in this topic

Joe Flacco is a tough QB, I'm not sure he's a top 4 one though...

Aaron Rogers
Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Drew Brees

Can we really say Flacco is better than any of those QBs? Honestly? He's the best QB this franchise has ever had, but do I have enough confidence with him stepping on the field like when one of the aforementioned players? Not at this point, no. But yes, he is carrying this team, but is also making his share of costly mistakes.

Who the hell said he's top 4....smh. Also he made a mistake or two but none of them were costly compared to the mistakes others were making.

He did underthrow an open Jacoby (could've been a TD), but he did make up for it by tieing the game up. He was great in this game against a good defense. I think we are moving in the right direction offensively. Unfortunately we took a step backwards on defense and our coaching sucked 2 games in a row.

He did underthrow him for sure, but I can't hold that against Flacco. Every QB makes a handful of poor throws in a game.

I feel the consistency in his accuracy has really improved by leaps and bounds compared to this time last year. I think this has pretty much been the same Flacco all season that showed up in the playoffs last year. It's just that the pieces around him have all gotten worse-- literally.

Btw I still don't know how Gay wasn't called for PI on that play. He straight up tackled Jacoby without even pretending to play the ball.

Flacco just put together the first QB performance of 200+ yards, 70+ completion percentage and no turnovers on the road in Pittsburgh since 1995, and just the 6th ever. And the first of those 6 that resulted in a loss. All 5 of the previous events were wins.

Wow. If that doesn't tell you something about who is and isn't earning their paychecks around here...

Like I said, Joe has a great season (minus the Bills game of course). With atleast one more great weapon this offense could be flying (please draft ASJ, please).

The run defense and coaching cost us today. Kinda like in the game against GB. Atleast our weaknesses are VERY obvious going into the bye week.

Since we are stating could've, The defense could've gotten off the field more and made Steelers punt more than just once the entire game. They could've also stop the 32nd rank rushing attack from having a season high 4.98yd/carry 141 yards.

Caldwell could have put the ball in the best players hands and pass the ball on 3rd and 1, instead of running peirce for -1 yard and settling for the FG. (1st Q) Ravens could've also told Special teams to let Steelers get a touchdown on the return. At least we have had over minute left to have Joe tie it up again.

I like this could've game.

As for underthrowing Jacoby, why is that even being discussed? It was a pass that traveled about 50 yards in the air. And JJ still had a chance to make a play on it.

I think you could've read his post and noticed that nobody was playing that game in his post.

Every player makes mistakes. I don't care about the under thrown ball to Jacoby

Exactly. It was just about the only time he had an opening to throw a ball like that. Other than that he once again threw some great passes including a couple to Doss and one to Torrey.

As long as our running game is going to be this anemic, I'd rather out the ball in Joe's hands. At least we have a fighting chance.

BTW anyone see Brady lose another game today?

And it was reportedly very windy in Pittsburgh today. That was as good a throw as we were going to see today at that distance.

Whiners gonna whine.

Flacco is carrying the entire team. Now I honestly think he's been carrying the team for a while but it's been unappreciated until now

I've been saying this since last season.

It was also a blatant PI that was missed, but Flacco could have made a better throw. I'm sure he would love to have that back.

I don't remember the PI that was missed, but yeah, Flacco needed to put it forward another three feet. I guess he is allowed to miss once in a while, lol....

First off, I have no clue what this has to do with anything. Secondly,I'll take him over Brees or Brady, given equal supporting casts

Someone said that on the first page, and people act like he's earning his paycheck as an "elite" QB. Comparing him with the greats is the obvious next step.

I'm sorry, but I've seen Joe miss more deep throws this year than make them. Both those QBs are far more accurate than Joe.

If the defense made a stop late in the 4 th quarter against Green Bay , I feel Joe would have won that game for us too . .

After 7 games it was nice to see Flacco show up for four quarters.

I give him a solid B but he was far from flawless.

He still isn't worth 120 million, just wait until the butchers bill comes in on that deal the 3 and 4 you see is just the beginning.

I'll be LMAO at all the idiots in the "Joe just wins" corner......  Hopefully those peeps show up when Joe leads the Ravens to 8-8 this season.  This is what happens when you overpay for an average quarterback.

Flacco through 7 games
160/269, 1917 Yards, 8 TD, 8 INT = 59.5%, 7.13 Y/A, 78.9 QB Rating

Brady through 7 games

So, then Tom Brady isn't worth his contract either consdering Flacco has outplayed him this year.

Your hate of Flacco is just sad and hilarious at this point.

Seriously, it must have killed you that the Ravens won the superbowl.

He should check himself in to Sheppard Pratt.

It is ridiculous that all of you Flacco antagonists, most of whom are trolls and not even Ravens fans, insist on having us protagonists like me defend Joe Flacco's performance.  His record right now could easily have been 6-1 were it not for some atrocious, vanilla play-calling and some remarkably poor officiating. Joe has held his own or out-played all four of the so-called elite QBs in the league in all but one of their most recent head-to-head meetings. These four include P. Manning, Brady, Brees and Rodgers. Find another scapegoat OR if you really believe Joe Flacco is the main cause for the team's lack of success, what or whom is the second biggest cause pray tell?

Even Mike Preston said if it wasn't for Joe and Torrey, they would have no offense.

You gotta just let the guy who watched football for 50 years go and be senile.   Without Flacco right this could be a 1-6 team easily.   He's doing everything he can to keep the team afloat.  And maybe with guys like Tandon Doss stepping up now and Dallas Clark starting to get into a rhythm we might have something at least there.

But it's also really hard to do all that when your two running backs are 1st and 2nd in the league in carries under 2 yards.

Think about what Flacco has to deal with.... A horrible Oline.. Can't run the ball... Can't separate from WRs.. I think we'll improve though !

I think this team gets better, which is the promising thing I'm holding onto here. I just hope I get to see it. We have a ton of great pieces. Getting back Pitta, Cody, Jensen & Jackson will be huge, IMO. I'd like to IR KO & have him fix those back issues since we're really going to need him next year. I'd like to plug someone else at LG, like Wagner, Jensen, Shipley or even Reid. I think that would improve the OL. Maybe even start Shipley at C like everyone wants and put Gino at LG so he can learn calls and get game reps. I'd personally like that.

Joe Flacco is carrying the team, though. There's no doubt about it. He's making WRs look good.

Right now Joe is the only player making plays. I think he needs to start commanding the offense more. More no huddle and just play the game like he knows how. Be the leader.
