Joe Flacco is the man

4,135 posts in this topic

Flacco has been hit harder than most of my golf balls, and gets up and looks for more. He is approaching John Unitas turf with his toughness.

Stats are great, but Joe looks at times, like a point guard. We have a weak o line ( the Ravens first in season trade) that needs help. Our running game is  subpar, and we have one WR, and a couple of rookies learning the ropes.

Joe is putting the ball in the correct place, under near constant pressure. He gets hit by two defenders at once several times a game.

He is worth the $$$$$$, and is underrated by every one but Ron Jaworski.

And me !

Honestly this is the main reason I defend Joe so much.. Love his toughness and his aggression.. He doesn't have to be flashy and loud to show passion. You can just see it in him. He's got that fire and competitiveness

Joe's a gritty dude. Toughness and grit go a long way. All the top QBs simply couldn't perform if they got hit like this. Brady, Manning, Matt Ryan, and Brees would just shatter into pieces. Flacco, and Rodgers too, for what it's worth, just have that gritty determination to take the hits and keep on going.

Well, dip me in poop and roll me in corn meal!    What a refreshing topic!!!

Joe is a beast and we're fortunate to have him on this Team. Many a weaker man would have crumbled by now facing the hits he has taken. ".......get a little pissed and go back out and throw the ball again".......... gotta be Wacco for Flacco!!!!

+35

And he does it with a touch of humility that is so rarely seen today in professional sports, especially among NFL QBs.

Joe is a perfect example of why stats aren't everything . His toughness and will cannot be quantified in a stat column .

Old school tough.  Tobacco stained teeth and all.

Toughness and the ability to win a game, plain and simple is what makes Flacco great. Although, these hits need to stop, and the O Line needs to develop a sense of pride and protect our guy. I believe Monroe will inject some serious life and leadership into this group. We'll see an improvement.

Of course, according to the national broadcasters, the only  QB in the NFL is Peyton Manning.

Can they talk about anyone else? No.

So many good quarterbacks,  Joe is right up there and has more playoff wins.

of course, he got the big bucks, I am sure it will pay off. We do need some help at those other positions discussed..

Go Ravens!!! Let's get another ring!!!!

I herd a sound bite today from Vince Wilfork.  He was commenting on how Flacco would get hit again and again and it wouldnt bother him one bit He would just get up like it was nothing.  He said that was "very frustrating "

I think some people don't understand what Flacco's play meant to the Ravens on Sunday.   It was the difference between winning and losing that game.   Yes, the defense was stellar.   But Joe made lockdown throws when they had to be made, and took a beating doing it.

And even after the interception instead of folding, he came right back out and kept pushing and attacking and making throws to put the team in position to win the game.

And STILL threw the ball to Ed Dickson despite every drop previous.   Which means he will give every guy on that field the opportunity if they are there to succeed and catch the ball.   To ME, that is the very definition of making the players around you better.

I'll take him on my team 10/10 times.

Flacco's toughness is underrated and under-appreciated. It makes me sick. He's been getting destroyed every game and keeps on ticking.

I wouldn't want anyone else running this ship.

Flacco is a tough dude, but when I see him take some of those hits I think about Big Ben taking those big hits and how the last few years he has had injuries pile up because his body can no longer take the pounding.

Joe Flacco is the prime example of why stats are meaningless sometimes. He is an elite QB in every way. But not in the ways the "experts" come to expect. My favorite player in the NFL because he's amazingly talented and always doubted. And the best part is, he couldn't care less. My dude.

Is it just me, or is the only QB that's taken a bigger beating than Joe over the last few weeks the guy he was playing against on Sunday (Tannehill)?

As many have stated, this is what makes Joe so special. The numbers will come, trust me. Once we get JJ and Brown back, DT, Doss and Dickson playing well, it will make this passing attack explosive and nearly impossible to cover.

But his toughness is something that is compared to none right now. I've watched Brady take his ball and go home because he was constantly beat up in the pocket. I've seen the great Peyton just look down right confused because of the pressure. But the 2 QBs who will battle it out at the Bank on Sunday are two of the best to deal with heavy pressure imo.

Joe has no quite in him and never shows up his teammates. I sound like a broken record when saying this, but Flacco would be considered among the best in the NFL if he got the same amount of time the others greats get.

When Joe gets time, he sets records and wins Super Bowls. Just imagine if he had the system they have over in Denver, and had guys like DT, Welker, Decker and Thomas...the whining about Flacco would come to a stop. Well, probably not, certain people would still find something to complain about...

Yeah, it isn't a good view in the mind's eye. It's a saying that I picked up years ago from a co worker and I try to save it for special occassions. :D
