On your comment about Gino... Just no. He really has improved every week, and he played respectably today. We're going to stick with him.

0:56: Yanda allowed the sack. Gino wasn't pretty but he didn't exactly screw up.

1:07: What is wrong with that block? The guy literally didn't get any push.

1:59: Okay, sort of missed a block there.

So, you just cherry picked three plays in a highlight reel (stupid), and tried to tell me they were bad? Only one of those was actually a bad play by Gino. If you're going to try and make a solid point, you're going to have to try harder than that.

Edit: Rewatched the third play, and Gino blocked his man.

You have effectively shown me three plays that actually support my claim. Good job!

Now, because cherry picking highlights is the way to go, I'll cherry pick one more that supports my claim, in addition to the three already provided.

Here we see a rushing TD, and Gino takes his man out. Clearly, Gino gets pushed around....

I'm gonna make this a weekly thing. Seven Things with SAM.

Offense.

5. Gino....

Is the weakest link on the line. I hope if we do find someone stupid enough to trade for Mckinnie, that they're also dumb enough to supply the team with a center.

6.  Ray Ray has lost his burst

But is still a valuable weapon to the team. Not as fast, and older, but still a good running back.

I believe Ray is playing hurt and that's the reason he is not playing up to par.

Gino needs time to learn this fanbase and these forums last year were screaming to get younger well you can't get younger without a learning curve and this game for Gino wasn't as bad as prior weeks he will get better .I think our mistake with gino was not allowing him playing time last year maybe that would have helped.

Most of the rest I agree with

i think we have an above average safety in huff being wasted away on the bench, he had one bad game, jimmy smith has had dozens of bad games.... i would love love love to see him get involved as a corner...

Huff was playing on special teams yesterday so he's not really "being wasting away". But it wasn't just one bad game - he was back in for parts of the Buffalo game as well and played poorly. Our secondary is markedly, objectively better whenever he doesn't start -- I don't think we need to revisit this barring an injury. The biggest change we made after the Denver game, and one that netted immediate benefits, was to get Huff out of there. Smith isn't a safety (Huff is) so I'm not really sure why you are comparing the two. Smith is probably our second best corner (after Webb) whether you like him or not. Elam is Huffs counterpart on the roster, both playing FS, and Elam's still a rookie so he will improve, but he's actually playing better than Huff even now. Huff isn't a rookie so we can't be forgiving of rookie mistakes and unwillingness to make tackles. That's a problem whether he's at safety or CB. He should for now be depth at the safety and corner positions until someone get injured or he starts showing things in practice. Huff could play corner, but it's not his best role and thus he was brought in because of his ability at safety. I would "love, love, love" for us to stay injury free and Huff never see the field on defense again this year, because quite frankly all if the games here people described the secondary as solid were those when he wasn't playing.

If Flacco is given time, and the plays are more diverse, he might actually throw for TDs this year.

Otherwise, he'll spend time on his back/running for his life.

How do you spend the money we did on Joe and not try to stack the oline with top talent? It's foolish.

The Monroe  trade is great but a little late .Thankfully Joe hasn't been hurt . I thought there was a good

chance yesterday of this.

Better late then never though.

he got nailed low on that beautiful catch by doss and one other time, possibly the pass to juice he got hit high and low and twisted, I thought that was our season. I cringed

The thing that jumped out about Suggs is that he was able to simply take the game over in the clutch. Three of his sacks came late and allowed us to pull ahead and eventually hold on for the win. That's Defensive MVP-type play right there. If he has a game like that on one of our nationally televised prime time games, I think that award could be his.

So you don't refute anything, you just provide a baseless argument. Okay then. Ya done now homie?

I still have to re-watch this game. But A.Brown looked very solid especially in pass coverage. I hope he continues to play well.

He moves really well out there.  Almost like a big safety.

Not discounting Sizzle's performance, but Doom was pushing his blocker back into the pocket on just about every play. That combo is deadly!

Ray Rice's "burst" was gone last year. Idk maybe im the only one that feels that way.

I don't think its anything physical, it seems to me like hes just too indecisive. Yes part of that is the oline not blocking well enough, but even when there are holes he reacts too slowly to hit them.

Pierce was great last year bc he was decisive. Got the handoff at speed, maybe one cut and go. But even he seems almost "too patient" instead of cutting and going.

At the end of the game when they both started getting chunks of yards they looked way more decisive or at least were running at speed as soon as they got the handoff instead of waiting for some huge hole to open. Again part of this was better blocking, but definitely not all of it.

One thing : Joe is one of the toughest QB's in the NFL . He has taken a beating the last two games . Brady would have folded like a baby .

[b]2.Torrey Smith is Legit.

Torrey is growing into a Man Beast! He's not only showing great skills, but is playing with an attitude! Gotta love him.

Also, Arthur Brown looked good. That one screen pass he got off his block quickly, read the QB's eyes, closed incredibly fast, and then made a shoe lace tackle.... that was a serious play.

Plus, Tandon Doss deserves an apology from 95% of fans.

oh and Dickson finally showed up. 2 tough grabs and no drops. If we can continue to see this version of him, and Monroe and Shipley help the line improve then we are in serious business.

If we get healthy we're a top contender no doubt in my mind.

I agree with Harbs and some of the posters here. Rice and Bernard are not hitting the holes fast enough to get any yardage until the o-line wears down the defense when the holes get a lot bigger. Maybe part of it is that Rice is hurt or that he has lost a step or that he and the o-line just are not on the same page (he looks for a hole on the right side and the hole is on the left). Glad I am not the coaches trying to find and fix all the problems with our o-line and run game. All I do know for sure is that Joe has to have better protection than he is getting. With the protection he is getting now, I just keep thinking we are playing with fire and are going to get burned.
