How many 3 sack games have there been in the past 10 years?

I would venture a guess that it's more rare than a QB throwing 5 TD's, or a RB running for 175 yards.

idc what he did the rest of the game, 3 sacks is a great game. It's close to the same impact as creating 3 turnovers.... and especially considering the situations in which he got his sacks. Which brings up another issue I have with pff's grading system - things should be weighted for the situation. A game winning, 80 yard drive with under 2 minutes that ends in a TD pass should effect a QB's grade more positively than a TD pass in the 1st quarter bc it requires a greater level of quarterbacking to accomplish.

Likewise Suggs' 3 sacks came at huge moments and should be weighed more heavily considering how much they affected the eventual outcome of the game.

As far as I know, its the only time it hhas been done this season.
Compare that to 5+ TD games from Manning (twice if we count rushing TD), Rodgers and Romo already this season.

Not sure if you caught this, but the "3 sacks" comment is a sarcastic reply to the poster Fly quoted who was basically saying Suggs did nothing else the rest of the game because PFF said so.

Oh I know... I quoted bc I agreed and was simply adding to his point to help refute PFF's opinion on the matter.

Justin Houston had 4.5 sacks against the Eagles a few weeks back.

Exactly.

The feat in and of itself is an amazing game. If he sat on the sideline picking his nose the rest of the game it was still and amazing overall game for him bc of what the impact of those 3 plays alone had on the outcome of the game.

the quote from PFF is almost like saying "Suggs achieved an amazing feat that is rarely accomplished in 3 plays that singlehandedly almost thwarted a possible comeback by Miami....  BUT unfortunately that's all he did."

True... but the point still remains that when a QB throws for 5 TD's its an amazing feat period. When a rb goes for 175 yards its praised as a great game even if he didn't score a TD or may have fumbled once.

Suggs getting 3 sacks is a GREAT game period, just like those other achievements. It may have happened one other time this year, but its not something that is frequently achieved... and all 3 came at huge moments.

Oh yeah I know.  Just pointing it out lol.  Suggs had an incredible game, no denying that at all.

Silly Steeler fans figured out how to use the daggone interwebs to go viral with their anti-ravens propaganda

i think you should take a look in the mirror. Need I remind you of this post from January that you made

"The next time the Ravens hoist the Lombardi Flacco won't be a part of this team. "

You can't judge player performance obviously because leading up to that playoff run all you did was slam flacco.

See exhibit b

"No I completely Disagree Joe having ONE game winning drive against Pittsburgh does not make him clutch. He is the opposite of clutch he can't do anything when his back is against the wall. When he is called upon to lead this offense and put up points he continually fails. Time after time after time he can't produce points."

Somehow I'd imagine no one will take heed of your criticisms of any player again, not that they did previously.

Yes, I remember this conversation distinctly because I was the one arguing with him! lol

And, as with some of the other Flacco hating posters, we've not seen this one much since Flacco's historic playoff run either.

Jimmy is improving each game. If you compare the Denver game to Miami it is quite an improvement.

Need more evidence that PFF is an absolute joke? Look at who has the three highest grades on our team, according to them:

http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Best-And-Worst-Ravens-Grades-vs-Dolphins/21259a39-51c7-4c56-b02e-692770854534

If you dont feel like reading the article, JOSH - FREAKING - BYNES is our best player, and by a significant margin.

And Suggs is not in the top three, but Dumervil is

Top Three Grades

ILB Josh Bynesicon-article-link.gif (2.8)
CB Lardarius Webbicon-article-link.gif (2.5)
OLB Elvis Dumervilicon-article-link.gif (2.1)

Josh Bynes? Really?

Feel free to avoid worshipping at their altar...Hopefully, people here will learn to stop reading that site, much less quoting them as if it means something.

After re-reading it, it sounds like these are grades for just the Miami game, although I could be mistaken.

Even if it is just for the Miami game, it is obscene that Suggs is not #1. See their comments here:

Outside Linebackers ( 5.0)

The outside linebackers led the way for the defense, as Elvis Dumervil (2.1) and

Terrell Suggsicon-article-link.gif (1.5) both had impressive games. Pernell McPheeicon-article-link.gif (1.7) also had a strong day, notching his first sack of the season. Suggs drew plenty of praise after his three critical sacks in the fourth quarter, but he was actually better in run defense than pass rushing. Overall, the Ravens pass rush notched six sacks, one quarterback hit and 12 hurries, meaning that Dolphins quarterback

So.....Suggs had a gamebreaking day as a passrusher, recording THREE sacks, and according to them, he was even better against the run. Yet he gets a paltry 1.5 rating, while Dumervil scored 2.1 and McPhee scored 1.7? Suggs was our THIRD BEST OLB?? Get outta here

I don't take them as the gospel truth, but I find them insightful.

Not like I'm going to watch Jacksonville tape, so I'll be interested to see what they say about Eugene Monroe.

They were just for the Miami game. Like I said before, PFF tries to get too cute with their grades and people quote it as fact.
