Its really not that simple. They have Aaron Rodgers.

No crap. I said it wouldn't be easy but I think we match up with them well.

I think our secondary will get torched, but i also think we can disrupt aaron rodgers and their run game enough to pull out the W.

Hopefully man. I'm expecting the Bank to be rocking and our offense to be clicking. It should be a fun game. I think it will come down to whoever wins in the trenches.

Looks like the Packers are early favorites at -3.

Good, Vegas; you keep doing that. Because, whenever you doubt the Ravens, Baltimore always finds a way to win.

I'd be terrified for this game if B-Mac was guarding Joes blindside from Clay Matthews.

However, we have Monroe who should limit or even keep Clay quiet all game. :)

Clay is still Clay though, and if he trudges onto the field with one of those wound up club bandages, he's there to play.

I really feel the keys to this game are

  • Start fast, start physical. If our O-Line shows up to play, and Joe can actually drop back for more than a second before facing pressure, I think our healthy receivers will have a good day, and a good start of momentum.
  • Keep A-Rod off the field. The fact of the matter is, Aaron Rodgers, despite his O-Line, is still Aaron Rodgers. He is a threat to make a play every down, and if we don't limit his time and dominate time of possession, he will cause trouble.
  • Unleash Suggs. This applies for Doom as well, but Suggs is just a monstrous force. The supposedly "suspect" Green Bay O-Line is playing pretty well to be honest, and starting fast will make it so we can make A-Rod play from behind, forcing him to throw. If we can do it, I think Pees will really let Suggs go off, that's where our sacks will come from.
  • Stay Aware A-Rod can make plays happen with his feet, and if his reads are gone, he will take off. If Suggs and Doom successfully collapse the pocket and entrap him we can contain him and force him to attempt and stand tall.

Overall my only concern is the question mark in the secondary. If they can play well, they will really give the guys up front a fun game. I can only pray Monroe makes an immediate impact and holds Clay, or whoever is in Clays spot, at bay so Joe can make things happen, as well as opening up holes for Rice to really have a solid game.

We know who Ray Rice is. When healthy he is a top 8 RB he is versatile and electric. Hes not healthy right now and many people have hopped off the bandwagon. This guy is our season at this point.. We know the defence will be good we know what Joe brings with LIMITED options but Rice is the key and god forbid this offence gets healthy and does what they are expected because this team will be dangerous.

If he is healthy he is much more than that. I agree with everything you´ve said. It is amazing what joe is doing with THAT o line and the receivers he is throwing to right now. seems like he is helping everybody with his attitude. you always have the feeling that if it is a close game we are able to win it because joe can put us in the position to do so...

Perfect example of a game that will be won in the trenches.

Cmon OL, with Monroe in there, hopefully we can give Flacco a clean pocket most of the game. Rodgers is the last remaining "elite" QB that Flacco has yet to take down (currently 0 - 1 vs Rodgers...we lost to GB in Flacco's second year)

On defense:
Number on key to me on defense is to disrupt the receivers routes. Can't let them get free releases. Webb should cover Cobb, Rodgers go to guy. This is the only way to change the timing of their offense, allowing the pass rush to get there. There is no room for communication errors in this game. Rodgers will find and make enough plays without giving him easy ones. Also Green Bay has a real running game with Lacey now so they can not be taken lightly.

On offense:

The offensive line being able to work as a unit with Monroe in will be key here. Green Bay is susceptible to the run if we can get it established early. This will limit Rodgers chances as well. More importantly rice needs to be very involved in the passing game. Hopefully there are some new variations on screens and other designed pass plays specifically to get ray the ball in space. If these at least one of these two are established there is a very good chance for joe to attack this secondary deep. If jones is back and running full speed he could really do some damage alongside Torrey.

Final score:
Ravens 31
Packers 27

Nobody will ever really mention this in a game vs. Green Bay, but I believe this game will go to the one who wins the battle in the trenches. AND the Ravens can't turn the ball over. We have our work cut out for us but I think we can pull it out at home.

I think Jordy Nelson is gonna abuse whoever he lines up against.....

I would put Webb on Nelson because honestly he's the one that scares me the most.

If our secondary falters in any measure, Rodgers will carve us up. So, for us to win this game it is critical to dial up pressure with our front 4 and occasional blitzes. But, we need to leave good coverage in the secondary to blanket their receivers.

Rodgers is a scary dude, but hasn't found his groove quite yet this year just like Joe. However, I think Joe will find his form when we most need it. I think when he faces elite QBs he tends to play to their level, the Broncos being the exception though. Peyton Manning is playing like he doesn't belong with mortal QBs this year. So, we'll see if we can eke out a win here.

I think we need to put up points in this game to win. We cannot win this game if we average between 20-25 points like we have been. I think the team that scores 30+ points wins this game. I am just hoping the Ravens do!

you hit any qb enough and it will effect them . they , like us have a huge number of injuries as well . if Rodgers is on his back or he has suggs and dumervil draped over him gonna be hard to throw . we have to come out  and punch them in the mouth .  or your all correct Rodgers will sit back and carve us up .

Man, against the Niners, that Packers secondary looked like Swiss cheese. I hope our offense is able to make something of it. If our pass rush keeps playing at the level they're playing at now, Rodgers will have some issues, I'd hope. Obviously, Rodgers is a great QB, and if the blitz is lackluster or if the O-line is legendary, he will make mincemeat of that secondary.

That's because they were playing a super soft cover 3.

Its possible Clay Matthews misses this game. If that happens I really think we should win.

I would love to see this happen, but the man's more possessed at times than J.J. Watt. I think he plays because he knows how important the game is for Green Bay.

Edited: It was reported that Matthews might be out at least a month now. Ravens just quadrupled their odds to winning! ;)

Now that I think of it, I'm not actually that scared. We're playing the Pack in the bank. Rodgers has a worse OL than ours, arguably. Their defense is sorry. The only thing they have is a passing game. With our pass rush, the emergence of Jimmy Smith, and our hard hitting safeties, we will be able to at least hang with the Packers.

If the line shows up, our offense will have a field day.

Sounds like a sure thing now.  Apparently he is out at least a month per roto.

This is great news for Joe.  He must be smiling.  Their defense has holes already.  We need to be able to run the ball effectively and keep Aaron off the field.

I know everyone is scared of Rodgers.  But if you get consistent pressure on Rodgers, that offense can sputter for an entire game.

I prefer our chances at the Bank. We tend to play great at home.  I expect us to be competitive in this matchup.

Packers should be a lot easier to beat without #52 flying around the field and delivering his trademark crushing QB hits.

Let it be clear, the Packers will still play a tough game as long as A-Rod is playing, but without Clay we have a much better chance to establish the run and to protect Flacco. Clay Matthews come day 1 of game action for Monroe would have been a nerve racking challenge.

I haven't watched any of their games this year. How is their o-line holding up? I know they're starting a late round rookie since their starting LT went down in the preseason. The game will be decided by Suggs and Doom.

With Rodgers they will be competitive no matter how bad their defense is. Non the less, no Matthews will benefit us

This... Feel very confident heading into this game..

Especially if we can get Jacoby back
