Week 5 - Baltimore Ravens at Miami Dolphins

Just got the inactives text on my phone. Man J.Jones, M.Brown, and Monroe. Among them.

I was really hoping to see M.Brown continue his development.

Weird. I don't like going with only 3 WRs. I'd call up Gerrard Sheppard just to have another body there just in case. That's way too little.

Guess that means that we'll run a lot of 2TE sets. God help us. I'm hoping we'll see Juszczyk finally get some snaps in the slot.

3 active receivers, two unreliable tightends, one lazy left tackle.

We win this came only if the running backs get 30+ touches.

Me too. Never seen us use a 4th rounder on a FB for him just to ride pine. McClain was a 5th i believe and he started.

Just throw the ball to yourself flacco.. Torrey's the only one that'll catch it anyway

Either that or Ray Rice is going to featured a lot in the passing game.

Oh man. My sinking feeling I got while waking up just hit a new low.....

That run game better magically have been fixed in one week. Ugh.

Wow! Who's left to catch the ball should somebody go down in the game? Also, our D-line depth is scary inadequate! So, I am assuming DeAngelo Tyson should be active which will make for 5 D linemen in the game. It tells me we better run the ball and put Rice in the slot a lot...

Really hoping the whole line steps up, but K.O. specifically. I remember believing he would eventually play like all pro this year. So far he's looked pretty crappy

If I had to guess, I'd say we'll see a game plan like this:

Billy Bajema as a blocking TE used some as a move TE. Dickson going on deep routes. Clark working the middle of the field. Thompson and Torrey being used everywhere. Rice used as a receiving weapon and as a RB. Pierce complementing Rice as always. Leach used in his usual role. Doss will continue to see his role of return specialist and used on third downs.

I'm not nervous about our chances of winning. I'm more concerned about our chances of an injury to someone like Torrey.

I'm thinking the Ravens come home with a win today. I have a good feeling about this one.

With all the inactives today please help me feel the same way. I am nervous for our offense because they have no choice but to make the run work today. Short of Torrey and Ray Rice I feel uncomfortable Joe throwing to anybody else.

This begs the question - why would you cut Stokely when you are short handed at receiver?

I saw ESPN said some teams in the league complained that the Ravens gave up too little for Monroe and that we aren't paying for majority of his salary lol.

Well, he's on target anyway. He said pro bowl or bust. So far he's been correct but not in the desired manner.

Watch, we'll find out he played the year with some kind of injury or something when the season ends.

That's the biggest question to me. He caught some nice passes to move the chains in previous games.

Wow....

Just means today is going to be the Ray Rice show! 30+ touches lol

Hopefully we try to do some screens with him & Torrey. A bunch of quick throws, dump offs and slants. I guess Thompson will be our #2. Hoping he catches a TD today.

And they'll get it 30 times only if Joe isn't allowed to audible all the time in this game. They have to design run plays today and execute them to perfection. Otherwise we are in for a really long day folks.

Read my post directly above your post. You'll see why.

As for Stokley, I think we knew Jones and Brown wouldn't play so we signed Bajema back as a blocking TE and to try to get Joe some more targets. I'm guessing Stokley wouldn't have played either. We probably felt it made more sense to get Bajema to play than inactive Stokley.

Our receiving corps for today: Torrey, Deonte and Tandon. We paid Joe that much money and then didn't give him anything to work with. PERFECT.

Lets hope the Oline steps up, because if Rice is still gaining 2 yards a rush, then I don't know if we will be able to convert 3rd downs with our current passing offense.

I saw some of your posts in the Draft forum and you made a couple good points, that we might draft CB first, but at this point I just can't see Oz not drafting WR and TE in the first two rounds. Maybe I'm overreacting, but our situation at the receiving positions is just horrible. Smith and Clark will be covered all day.
