LT Bryant McKinnie

138 posts in this topic

Bryant McKinnie showed the whole world yesterday that he doesn't care about his teammates and he also showed the world that he has zero pride and zero dignity as part of his makeup. He almost got Flacco killed yesterday and if I were Flacco I'd go up to McKinnie after the game and kick him right in the nutz. Just a disgraceful performance from a guy who obviously doesn't care. McKinnie will be out of football next year and will be broke and homeless shortly thereafter. What a punk.

Are you insane?

Anyway, the  entire O-Line is struggling. McKinnie is doing a decent job, he just struggles with those pure pass rushers like Jordan, they're too athletic for him and that's obvious, Bryant is getting up in age and he's not the most athletic guy in the world to begin with. Which is why I'd think moving him over to RT would be a good move. Having KO next to him doesn't exactly help him either since KO is absolutely horrendous right now. Shipley is awful but at least with him we had some push and something like a running game. Gino...just awful. The entire line needs to be fixed. Monroe @ LT, McKinnie @ RT, Oher maybe at LG (he used to be a mauling RT his rookie season, not sure what happened with him), maybe that'll work out better for us I don't know.

Mckinnie has  never played right tackle( the left and right tackle postion is totally different from each other) before and I get the feeling he wants to play left tackle only. He's not a good run blocker and to my understanding most right tackles are expected to be good run blockers  because most left tackles are not .

Bullrush, that was the best post I've read here in ....well maybe ever!

It's not just McKinnie and I agree that he is not doing the horrible job most here "knee jerk" comment upon.

They made fun of his "party bus" birthday. For crying out loud, he did the responsible thing and didn't drive drinking, yet the folks here ream him a new one for enjoying his birthday.  What a crock!!!!  And then it turns out that it wasn't as depicted. Give the man and his talent a break.

We have serious problems but its not all on McKinnie and the "Faithful" may get their wish and have to realize they beat up on the wrong guy.

I agree it may be Oher that gets replaced and I'm not sold that Monroe is the panacea. The Jaguars didn't let him go for nothing...for nothing.

For a guy his age he's playing well.  He's just old.  He's 34.  He can't bend and move like he used to.

On the flip side, he was ranked like 72nd out of 76 tackles by PFFs system if I remember correctly. So that's pretty awful

He's has problems, but to rank him fourth from the bottom of 76 tackles is questionable. Many of the team's better runs went to the left side although he is better known for pass protecting.

The team really didn't have any good runs.  But the better runs were behind Yanda really.

We're not cutting him. His money is guranteed, his cheap and we need depth @ LT. And that isnt a position you can just 'fill in' with wagner.

Technically, Wagner would have been the fill in before the Monroe trade so I fail to see the problem.

Yeah I don't get why people are saying this.  Before Monroe, if McKinnie went down, Wagner was coming in.  The reason we probably won't cut McKinnie is because of money, not because he's a backup LT.

I almost agree with you here.

The part I disagree with regard giving him a break. He's gotten far more chances than he deserves already.

Yeah. That argument makes zero sense to me. I personally view it as a weak argument made because there's no other reason to keep McKinnie. In reality, Wagner, Osemele or Oher would've been the candidates to replace McKinnie if he got hurt before the trade. We've seemingly given up on Oher. I'm not sure we'd trust Osemele at LT since he's struggling at LG. That leaves Wagner before the trade.

I'm sick of that argument. Sorry if I'm coming across rude but it's illogical.

I heard murmurings about Jacksonville being the team he could possibly be traded to because they just lost Joeckel(?) for the year and they already gave us Monroe. That would make sense if they weren't 0-5. They are going to want to keep all the draft picks they can to rebuild their team.

Technically yes.  What's the chance of Wagner being effective @ LT?

Who knows? He wasn't very good at RT against Denver but nobody was very good that game. He might be better at LT than RT. On top of it he's mostly played LT this year. That's where he's received most of his snaps. He was the original back-up. If McKinnie went down he would've been the LT.

Just to clear my last post a little bit more.  McKinnie was not asked whether he'd like to be elsewhere.  He started the conversation with this random Dolphins fan that seems to post a lot of news and has quite a few followers.

He does not want to be here.  I don't care about cap implications.  Get rid of him now.  There's no room for a guy like that in the locker room.  I disliked him before, but he just took it to another level.  In history, there aren't many Ravens that I haven't liked.  This was enough to push him to the top of my list.

Eh, I don't know. It could be fake. I'm just saying. It's not like it would be that difficult to Photoshop.

It's not fake.  There's a run down of events.  McKinnie tweeting this person first plus a few other things.

He wants out, to Miami specifically.  For those that don't use Twitter, the picture is of a direct message sent from McKinnie to someone else.

Agreeing with Grim. These were also the same people who were manufacturing Kenny Britt rumors to get publicity.

Plus that tweet looks SUPER fake.

I don't have time to look at the run down of events, but could you show me them or tell me what they were? I'd need more information than that one picture. Right now, it smells like someone Photoshopped it.

The tweet from Purple Reign was not directly from them.  They were passing along the picture.  They aren't the news source that started circulating this picture.

To keep it short:

Bryant McKinnie publicly tweeted to this Dolphins News twitter or whatever asking if they were following each other, which they were.  You have to follow each other on Twitter in order to send direct, private messages.  About a minute after the exchange, this Dolphins News tweeted the picture of the McKinnie message.

Google searched the picture and they're the only hit for it. Who had the original?

That Dolphins News twitter that got the message from McKinnie.  See above for the rundown of events.

Well, I don't know. If McKinnie said that, he's a jerk and shouldn't be on the team. I've never liked him much since his comments on the radio show, and this most certainly wouldn't endear him to me either. Regardless, I guess the truth will come out soon enough. Hopefully, he does get traded and soon. I'd like him gone, personally.
