Ravens acquire LT Eugene Monroe from Jaguars

I'm not sure after that performance by McKinnie that he doesn't get released . At minimum,he rides pine for the rest of the season .

I doubt we cut him. At worst, he's a good back-up. He'll save us not a cent by releasing him right now.

Does anyone else feel worried about Bryant McKinnie's future?

I mean, yeah; I've already poked fun of the fact that he will either be traded or released, this week. But, when you think about it, no team will try to trade for him after today's poor lazy performance, especially since he's responsible for the pick-6. Plus, unless if a team is really, really in need for a left tackle (so, team's like the Cardinals, Dolphins or Jaguars), why would any team try to sign him with all that baggage McKinnie comes with, when a young guy can probably go-in and do just as good of a job as McKinnie would?

So, essentially, is the last time Bryant McKinnie will ever play in the NFL? With all of his demons and financial depth, I just hope the guy eventually finds happiness in his life. Because, no matter how glad we are that he's 99.9% done with the Ravens, I never want to wish the worst, for someone.

This. To come out and play like that after they just traded for another LT, you have zero pride in yourself and apparently no desire to actually play hard in the NFL.  He should just retire and go do his Record Executive thing.

The Dolphins LT looked worse than McKinnie did.  Doom and Suggs were driving him back all game.

Yeah, He's too soft to play LT.  Gets bull rushed.

Thanks Bryant for the pick six

And Flacco getting clobbered on that big play to Doss.  Ugh.  I don't need to see Flacco getting speared into halves.

He showed up for a big payday for the playoffs.  So some teams will latch onto that potential and give him a 1 year contract.  If Gaither got a job after he got cut from KS(after we were past done with that lazy bum), someone will give McKinnie a chance, unless he decides to retire.  Honestly, I couldn't care less about what happens to him as long as he isn't playing for us and getting Flacco killed in the backfield.

I get what you guys were saying and, don't get me wrong, you two are right. You know, obviously, McKinnie wrote his own future with that performance, today.

But, at the same time, and maybe it's just me, I just don't feel right about beating a "dead horse" topic. I understand my opinion may be an unpopular one; yet, it's just how I feel, even if don't really care about what happens to McKinnie other than him being happy with his life.

Don't feel bad for a guy that had opportunities that 99.99999% would never get and squandered it. Go feed a homeless person if you want to really feel better about a humans happiness. ;)

I know what you're saying and to a point I agree.  But I find it hard to work up any sympathy for a guy who is going to be paid more this year than most of us will make in our lifetimes and will get paid more for the non-performance he put on today than the majority of us will make this year.  If a guy is working hard and just doesn't have it anymore or is just getting the bad breaks, I can sympathize and feel for them.  When you go out and give that little effort, I really can't.

McKinnie should never start maybe even play another game as a Raven.

At least no more as a Raven. I believe he came into the game playing half capacity since he knows his job is now Monroe's

Maybe McKinnie tried to screw us over by playing bad so we couldn't trade him lol. Perhaps the Raiders could trade for him while their LT is out.

He might actually not want to be traded.  I'm sure he'd rather ride the bench or sit at home and collect his paycheck.  I really don't think he actually wants to play, or at least it didn't look like he did today.

That was really bad by Mckinnie. I can't see him remain on this team. It makes since to have him as a backup but when you see a prideless type performance like Mckinnie had today, that's anti "Play Like A Raven". I would be surprised if he's on this team come Tuesday.

Moving foward, the run game wasn't as good as Ravens Post Live made it seem, but they did well enough to help the offense move. It was the pass pro and picking up blitzes that hurt today, literally for Flacco. I thought Mckinnie gave up too much "qquick" pressure and it forced Flacco off his spot. He wasn't the only poor performer, but a upgrade to that position is definitely needed.

If I were McKinnie, I wouldn't get on the plane back to Baltimore. Just stay home in Miami and hit up the clubs. He knows he's done here.

I know this is not fair but the move for monroe seems even better now as the jags lost his replacement for the season. we got a nothing but solid LT for the future for a pair of mid round picks? how great is that? the guy is still young and i think has a great opportunity with a winning team now!

Interesting McKinnie Bashing from "The Faithful".

Did you know that in 11 playoff appearances Bryant McKinnie has never had a penalty or given up a sack?

It may be too soon before all the stats are in, but this source does not credit McKinnie with either a sack or a penalty yesterday.

Anyone consider the typical Raven poor line play was the result of Osemele being out and new members filling in?  That said we did have our best Rushing output this year.

I like McKinnie and I'm not sold on Eugene Monroe.

Those stats are from the past.  This season, right now, anyone with eyes can see that Bryant McKinnie has checked out and given up.  He's lazy and he doesn't care about playing football right now.  He gives up on plays before the whistle.  Flacco has been releasing the ball quickly, therefore there haven't been sacks in yesterday's game.  That doesn't mean McKinnie did a good job.  You are cherry picking stats that look OK, but it doesn't tell the whole story.  McKinnie giving up on plays directly led to Flacco getting horse-collar tackled after he escape pressure from the middle of the pocket and rolled left.  He led directly to a pick 6.  He has been giving up lots of pressures and leading to hurried throws for Flacco, even if these aren't sacks given up.  His run blocking hasn't been good either.

Don't acknowledge him.  We're fairly sure he's a troll.

Those stats are from the past.  No, they include this year and no new negatives were generated yesterday.

We won, but it's pretty clear we are going to struggle at this rate.

I don't believe McKinnie is the problem and I don't believe Monroe was signed to immediately replace Big Mac and if he was, we'll see soon enough if his addition to the offensive line turns things completely around. But what makes anyone think McKinnie will be the one to sit down? Maybe its Oher.

Personally, I'm skeptical of the new OLine coach and this zone blocking scheme. The sense here is that is the problem. Osmele being out was part of the problem. That's McKinnie's side.

I'm not throwing McKinnie under the bus just yet. I have that spot reserved for a bigger negative influence.

mckinnie is  a very good pass bloker. problem is he might be the worst run blocker in nis position in the nfl.

I'm saying that his not giving up a sack or being penalized yesterday does not mean he had a good game.  He had a very, very bad game.  He consistently quit on his blocks before the whistle was blown, and he led to a lot of pressure on Flacco including failing on a blind side block that directly led to a pick 6.  He was awful.

Exactly. On our second to last drive on 3rd & 2 we ran a stretch run with Pierce to the left, B Mac didn't stay on his assignment...needless to say his assignment tackled Pierce for a slight loss. He really looked like he could care less out there. He gave up out there, that's not a Raven, and anyone who supports his play is not a Raven.
