LB Rolando McClain eyeing a comeback?

Do we have a spot for him at this point, and if we do, is he worth the risk?  I know Bynes hasn't been all that great, but we do have Daryl Smith and Arthur Brown is looking to come back soon.  Jameel McClain is still an unknown, and McClellan is nothing more than depth.

Umm the kid was pretty good at a 4-3lb which he didn't fit, he would look really good in our 3-4. He's 24 has great talent and if his head is on a swivel, we have a gem.

We spent a lot of money rotating 1-day rental FAs after reg. season started.   But if the coaches believe his worth it, guess its up to them and Rolando to figure that out.

It's week 5, McClain already had weight issues in Oakland, he never had training camp, preseason, or anything so he can't be in football shape, he won't have a grasp on the playbook either, I doubt it would be a plug n' play situation.

Bynes hasn't been great but I don't see McClain coming in at this point to help anything. Now if he can catch maybe he can convert to TE and replace Dickson immediately lol

If he did come back, I think it would be a bonus for us. I'd stash him for the rest of this year. Let him develop with the team for the rest of the season, head into Summer and Training Camp in shape and with a grasp of our playbook. That would be the ideal situation.

Look... The kid has talent. What happened to that talent in Oakland is unknown. I commend him for taking the hard move and trying to get his life back. Now, MAYBE his career can also come back. Anyone that says he doesn't have above average talent and ability are blind to facts.

Oh great, he is pulling a  Favre. Make up your mind Rolando lol jk.

No but seriously, if he is serious about coming back, let's see what he has to offer. I mean with Brown hurt, anybody would be an upgrade over Bynes.

Meh; there's no need for Rolando McClain to be on this team, at least for this season. If the Ravens want to give McClain another shot (to redeem himself), I would wait until the end of the season. I honestly cannot see him coming-in, after no training camp and preseason, while having the learn an entire playbook, and doing much of anything. Once again, maybe as a "future" project; but, not for the '13 Ravens.

Plus, there's still Daryl Smith, Arthur Brown (who's going to be a starter, sooner-rather-than-later), Josh Bynes (who is liked by many of his teammates, including T-Sizzle Hacksaw) and Albert McClellan who would be in-front of him, if McClain were to sign with the Ravens.

Speaking of McClains: Is Jameel McClain expected back, at any point, this season? I know he agreed to reduce his salary (to remain on the team). However, is it safe to say Jameel won't be back until the 2014 season?

I think it's commendable for Rolondo to get his life straight. He's definitely talented, but I just can't see how he could be ready to play this year in any sort of impactful way. Maybe next year.

As much as I want him, it's much more important for him to stay in school and get his degree right now. I want him to focus on classes and then come back.

He can join now, start learning now. It'd be better for 2014. He can be a healthy scratch, practice squad or special teams guy.

Basically, if McClain can play special teams: he's on.
