Neal Could Block the SUN!!

Coach John Harbaugh and time outs?

Maybe I just prefer risks. 4th a anything less than five when it's just outside Tucker's range I'd go for it. Say if it's a 60 yard fg 4th 5 for example.

I'd always have confidence in making it, just like I'd have confidence if we called a timeout with 30 seconds left we'd come of that field with points. They would be playing soft to stop a td and u could get two easy completions and into a 50 yarder without to much trouble.

And it's not hindsight I called harbs out in the game thread at the time as well.

John had a chance at making a legendary special teams play call. Even if we got stopped, I would of loved the guts for calling it. Play like a Raven! They would of been backed up to, an mabye we could of made some more Epic special teams plays later, block punt, or great punt return.  John was a special teams coach.

he might have if it was 4th and 2 from that close, but fourth and 6 is expecting a lot of Sam Koch.

Here's why I think the FG was the right decision at that time.

- What did we do successful all game that would make you think a 4th and goal from the 6th would produce a score?
- If we don't score on 4th down, it's a turnover on downs and we need a defensive stop and a touchdown to win the game. At least w/ the FG there, you only need to get in FG range to try and win it in OT.
- You're also making the assumption that the defense would stop them after the failed 4th and goal attempt.

The smart play and the one with the most chance to win is the FG to cut the lead to 3 and pray that you defense holds them, which they did. The opportunity was there, the offense just couldn't execute on the last drive.

You just said it yourself.  What makes you think we were going to be able to go down the field again and not win it, tie it.

I think they should have took their chances, and yea, our defense was playing better than our O. I think they would have been able to stop them.

Glad I wasn't the only person that noticed this.  When you have a Top 5 kicker, you have to use every tool available to at least get in FG range.

First of all - I am a huge John Harbaugh fan.  I am not even going to question the over all game planning, or over all effort of a coach that has gone to the playoffs 5 years running.  Obviously we have a heck of a good coach.

I thought this time management issue was a fault of Cam's arrogance.  Sadly it seems that Coach Harbaugh still has the same philosophy.  We should have played like a losing team at the end of the first half.

The second half was what it was.  None of may have happened if we had used our first half time outs wisely.  Maybe this will be a learning lesson and next time we'll manage our clock.

It was a good decision, the offense was out of whack completely. And what did the offense do at the end of the half? go 3 and out. If he had called time outs the Bills would have had time on the clock.

Harbs did his job and gave the team it's opportunities to win that game. Harbs did fine, as he has been for a while now.

bro, flacco is one of the most clutch qb's when time is a an issue. when time isn't in our favor flacco gets his stuff together.... ie steelers and denver last year.

I love Flacco just as much as anyone else here. But it was the end of the half so time was an issue. And that just wasn't his game, he threw a pick at the end of the game on a game winning drive. It wasn't in the cards. Clutch or not
