??? You an A's fan? Well, what's the story on this kid?

FWIW I think you got the better end of the deal. At least JJ is serviceable.

Haha.

I'm an A's fan, cause I have a deep respect for Beame. I also cheer for the O's and the Dodgers.

JJ is serviceable, but he blows so many saves, and the A's needed a better reliever.

Cook was good, but losing Grant was BIG

From what I've gathered, Weeks is that guy that had a good rookie year and a lot of potential, and then busted. Still hope that he reaches his potential, but I doubt it.

Yeah I don't see us doing much with this guy tbh considering what Schoop, who I think will replace BRob, showed at the end of last season.

Yeah, but it's a better move for you guys than us.

Yea same thing I'm seeing.. I just hope we use the money for a position of need

Unless this spurs another transaction with the money saved or something, this makes no literally no sense

No leverage whatsoever

Weeks is a solid prospect.

But this makes no sense. A's need relievers, but aren't super desperate for one lol

Bartolo can eat up innings

Parker is a good pitcher

Straily is a strikeout machine for whatever reason

Anderson is a #1 when he's healthy

Sonny Gray is turning out to be effective.

None of the above are superstars but they're all very effective pitchers. And the only good reliever we have is Cook. Outside of him the bullpen is mediocre. We we 'rent desperate for a reliever. We needed another good hitter aside Donaldson and Cespedes.

I'm an O's fan too. My east coast boys.

But I have season tickets to the A's so let me have a little bias lol..

Good God do we need a bat. Let's put the money towards getting someone that can hit the damn ball.

If you had the money, Dodgers are selling Matt Kemp I think lol

If you had someone who would spend the money, Dodgers are selling Matt Kemp I think lol

It wouldn't be wise to spend it on that one lol......

Injuries galore! lol.

I hate the trade. What was the point? Salary relief that we won't use? Who's our next closer going to be? Hunter?

Ugh. It's tough being an O's fan. I would of rather kept him and suffered watching him then trade him for basically nothing. He's not worth 10 mill for next year but it's not like it's going to be used anywhere else. Maybe towards CD but what's the point? We'll never win one with this ownership.

JJ's going to do great in Oakland

lol so true. I think we all know most of the money saved from that Johnson contract won't be used.

Britt G said on twitter that Johnson was very emotionally invested in the O's and choked up on the phone while speaking with her. I'm actually going to miss him. I'll never forget his part in our amazing 2011 season.

Even though him and Koji have completely different situations I have a feeling in a couple years we'll regret it. It's weird how they both didn't want to leave though.

I really loved watching Jim Johnson pitch in 2011. It was automatic. It was insane. I remember being at OPACY a few games when he closed, and the atmosphere was electric when his name was merely mentioned. I have a lot of good memories from watching him, and it's sad to see him go.

Hopefully his son will be different. If not then I'm afraid I'll never experience a title in my lifetime.

We have not problem giving Reimold another million though. -_-

Yeah. It's good for his career though being able to pitch in Oaklands huge ball park.

Im actually more upset with their decision to bring back Reimold, the only plays against LHP...and still gets hurt every 2 games. What a waste.

Now, on to Johnson. I disagree with the move if the 10mil they are saving doesn't go towards an upgrade to this team.

So, moving forward, we now have major holes at 2nd, DH, Closer, and still in need of a proven top if the rotation starter.

Always good to see players upset, right? Especially when two good players are due for new contracts in coming years. I'm sure Wieters and Davis are among those unhappy with the move.

Looks bad when Money Ball can afford him and tight wad Angelos can't or won't.

I thought they start letting the A's spend more money since the Moneyball days.

I'm glad they're upset. I want them to keep expressing that

Me too really. I'm not glad that they are upset, but I'm definitely glad that they're voicing it. Unfortunately, the guy that really needs to hear it doesn't care one way or the other.

Don't you wish Bisciotti would buy the O's, assuming it wouldn't hurt the Ravens. Hard to imagine them making the playoffs right now.
