Jim had a bad year, those blown saves were the difference in a tight playoff race. Im not ready to cut bait just yet though, I think he should get a shot to rebound albeit on a short leash. Also, IMO getting a proven top of the rotation pitcher is more important by far

I'm not ready to give up on him yet neither, but I really don't want his salary.

I agree, I gave up on him multiple blown saves ago. I lost faith in a rebound.

Tigers got the better of that trade kinsler is a more consistent hitter than fielder who has to homer to get a hit most of the time.

Good trade for both teams....

Tigers dump his salary and get a stud 2B. Allows Cabrera to play 1B. Frees up some money for Max Sherzer. Plus I'm pretty sure Cabreras contract expires soon too.

Rangers get Prince who should light it up in Texas. Allows them to finally use both Profar + Elvis.

If I had to declare one a winner, I'd say Detriot. Fielders contract was ridiculous and after seeing Arod + Pujols they're lucky to get rid of him now. I think he has another 2-3 great years in him. Who knows though, maybe he'll be like Big Papi down the road when he's DH?

Rangers need improvement in pitching so I'm not sure if it's that smart for them to take on such a large contract. Even if Detriot is paying 50-60 million (I think).

Who knows. Maybe these players progress and the O's are afraid of letting them go too early. We were a playoff team last year if it wasn't for Jim Johnson. Hopefully he has a extremely short leash next year but I'm not upset about him coming back. Only upset about his contract.

Really hope we trade Wieters. I'll take top prospects and be happy. I love what he brings on defense but he's not nearly worth as much as he wants. Plus it's very possible he wears down soon. He's not a good enough hitter to play DH in the future and I can't see us putting him at 1st, especially and hopefully if CD gets locked up.

I hate all these typical, no name signings we're making. Good thing we're all used to it. Hopefully at least one of them pan out.

From what I've gathered, Weeks is that guy that had a good rookie year and a lot of potential, and then busted. Still hope that he reaches his potential, but I doubt it.
