Was just telling my friend about that earlier today. Can't decide who will have the bigger improvement. Nick or Flaherty? I'm feeling both are going to be big for us

Nick needs to bounce back. He seemed much slower last year than normal.

Last year, he wasn't really able to do much weight lifting due to his wrist injury in 2012.. this year he will be back to normal.

I like Flaherty, he has power, good FB hitter. .on defense he's OK not a liability

You guys think Adam Jones will continue progressing, or has he hit his ceiling? Every year he's statistically improved in major categories.... I think If he stops swinging at low and away pitches he's easily got 45+ walks

That's the only area he really needs to improve. He takes some ugly swings

I dont know if we'll ever see him iron out that area as it has always been his Achilles heal. He's still a damn good player though. I don't know if he'll hit more homers but I see anywhere from 25-30 by the end of the season. Hopefully his avg will be in the .290+ range by the end of the season.

It may come down to Tampa Bay and the Orioles....The Red Sox may not be as good as last year along with a WS hangover and IMO the Yankees are just not that good and Toronto.....Well

Just found out that I'm going to Opening Day v. the Red Sox!! Can't wait!!

I saw that on March 5th Manny Machado was finally cleared to do lateral movements and fielded some soft grounders. He seemed to be OK doing so. I know the O's are still hoping that he will be ready for opening day but I think that may be too optimistic. I hope he makes a complete recovery and they take it slow, because I would love him to have zero setbacks. He is a special player.  

 

Even my wife, who is a diehard Pirates fan loves Manny. She compares his value to Andrew McCutchen, so I have to respect her for that.

It is starting to look pretty good so far after the last minute big additions. Hopefully in ten days the doctor will give the green light to Manny! I am super happy so far.

Two games today against Boston at 1pm and 7pm. The Rays vs. Pirates game should be a pretty good game.

Hopefully today can be sweet too, we play the Pirates, right now also a 7-2 team, in Sarasota at 1pm. I hate losing to them and still hold a grudge over 1971 and 1979. I even hate the song "We Are Family" because of that team. If we win we can have bragging rights in the Grapefruit league tonight.
