I heard the physical went well and he passed. Props to the O's for actually getting someone this year. Now lets see what they can do.

Now the rotation is looking pretty solid. Now you don't have to force Gauzman to be your 5th starter if he needs more time.

1.Jiminez

2.Tilly

3.Chen

4.Norris

5.Gonzo

Now...who's the DH and who us the closer?

.The closer situation is not quite as much of a panic as some are making it out to be.. I mean up until 2012, nobody thought that Johnson was going to amount to anything..also the Red Sox just won the World Series with freaking Koji as their closer...we can find SOMEBODY

Koji had one of the greatest postseasons ever iirc. Un-hittable.

Koji was near perfect and I thought he was their set up guy?

I've already seen UbaldOmore shirts online lol... I think people need to lower their expectations of this guy. He's definitely an upgrade, but he's no Cy Young candidate anymore, but maybe Wallace can bring him back to that form?

pretty sure he was closing games for them most of the year

He started closing at the end of June , after Bailey went down.

O's close to singing Cruz. Excited that we're working on making more moves.

It is done.

1 year, 8 million. Love how cheap we got him. Physical pending.

mlbdailydish.com is reporting that not only are we close with Cruz the O's may add pitcher Ervin Santana. I guess giving up another draft pick for another proven arm is ok with me. We could always use more pitching. Maybe the O's have learned from Ozzie, picking up free agents just before the start of the season, whose price has come down a lot from what they originally wanted. I feel now like maybe I judged the O's off-season too early. Go O's!!!

Cruz is an Oriole . https://www.csnphilly.com/article/report-orioles-and-nelson-cruz-agree-one-year-8-million-contract-0

I'm mixed on it... I want to win, I also want to be a classy org... Steriod guy.. can he hit for power without them? If he can, the lineup is scary.

I agree but we really did needed a big bat in the lineup and if he can put up some decent numbers, it should really help us. In a division with the Yankees and Red Sox it is hard to not take a few risks to help improve the team. We were not going to overtake them without adding a few good players. With that said, I know you can become like Toronto if your not careful, but I like that we are giving it a shot.

I'm also mixed, but B-Rob admitted to being a PED user and he remained a beloved Oriole... if he hits well and helps this team win, all is forgotten/forgiven. He paid up his debt, and has a chance to redeem himself.

I agree with the whole clean organization and such but he is no longer suspended hopefully he moved on. I hope we can make it deep in the playoffs now. I guess to most people our gap of success is left to 2 years because I guess Matt Wieters and Chris Davis will leave for big bucks to the Yankees or something. :(

Good move or not, it's a move and the O's finally look like they putting forth an effort. Time will tell, but right now I like it and will always love "my" O's, good or bad. I am a fan for life, no band wagon here!!

O's offseason went from an F to a B+ really quick.

Agreed.. Even if they don't have amazing years it will still give enough morale boost to show that front office is trying to make stuff happen

Before they were able to sign anyone, I just thought they didn't care but it looks like I was wrong. They were simply waiting for the price to come down a lot like what the Ravens like to do. Smart moves I have to say and thank goodness they have decided to spend some money this year.

Sane here, the guy served his suspension..so I say for the price...in this lineup ill take Cruz all day.

Food for thought. ..The Yanks and Sox get the advantage of being able to have an endless well of cash to blow on whoever they want. Chris Davis, Weiters or possibly Hardy could wind up as a Yank or Red Sock....so ya know what? If we take 1 guy who was connected to biogenesis who can help us re claim our rightful place in this division..I'm all for it.

The thing about that is... BROB was in the first wave of offenders to be outed... Cruz has known for years now that MLB is "trying" to clean up the league and punishments are now more severe. Also, I'm curious to see how much the juice helped his game.. And really, I'm sure hes probably still on one of the designer options that is ahead of the testing.

I'm so freaking pumped. Can't freaking wait. Chris freaking Davis.

I like your enthusiasm. I really hope this is our year. I really love it when the O's are competitive with the high dollar teams like the Yankees and Red Sox.
