Run Game: "We're Not Good Enough Right Now!" - Flacco

102 posts in this topic

What's even more ironic is how certain trolls here will blame Rice'performance on the OL and playcalling, but accuse others of being homers when pointing out things regarding our SB MVP quarterback

The only thing that bothers me is the homers that are trying to defend the man that has seven picks in 4 games.   SMH.

Lets face it there is enough blame to go around.  But someone is clearly not 120 million dollar guy.  That's all I'm saying.

We're not there yet. Let's get some protection and hands and then we can see what he can do this season.

There's more than enough blame to go around. Flacco is not exempt. However one bad game out of four, and he isn't worth the money? There's a couple trophies on his shelf that says otherwise.

Doesn't matter for two reasons ;)  ( :deadhorse: )

Technically, Flacco hasn't had a GOOD game this season. So 1 bad game out of 4 isn't really a good assessment. Our entire offense has looked absolutely awful, and Joe reverted from Zeus-Tier to Eli Manning Tier in a surprisingly short amount of time.

Even Yanda had a poor game today . Rare .

He caught the disease the rest of the oline has apparently. I mean i expected Gino to struggle a little bit but its been a collectively awful effort right now.

5 picks and you say anything?

57.4
1,091
5
7

Percentage                  Yards                    Touchdowns        Ints

Wow 120 million sure buys a lot of excuses. I don't want to hear anything out of the man that thought he could replace a Boldin with Pitta and Torrey.  You got your money now figure out why you are so average     JOE!

What exactly is Jaun Castillo getting paid to do again? Isn't he supposed to be "run game coordinator?" Ever since we hired this man it seems like he has coordinated it into nothing...

The run game isn't good enough nor is our pass game. Every single player on offense Joe Flacco included is stinking right now. That is the real truth.

I am a big Joe Flacco fan and I agree with you that he is the guy that has to take primary responsibility for our poor offensive play this season. He has been atrocious to put it mildly. 7 picks in 4 games doesn't tell the whole story though I must add. A lot of those picks were poor catches or bad bounces too. However, so it is for the rest of the players that throw interceptions. However, Joe Flacco is never a consistent performer as borne out by 6 yrs of seeing Joe perform. He is a very inconsistent player but a really good one when he is on.

I am not going to comment on his salary because if he didn't deserve it the shame on Steve Bisciotti. However, Steve Bisciotti is a very smart man, so I think he knows what he paid for.

People always talk about losing Boldin.. Matt Birk was an important piece on the offense. We brush the Center position off like anyone can just step in there and get the job done. That's a tougher position then it let's on and a seasoned vet like Birk was an asset anchoring the interior OL along with Yanda. Marlon can replace Boldin... It's Birk and Pitta we are having a problem replacing.

Seriously. I said it earlier in the thread. Having Boldin does not help this offense. The OL is the issue. Guys are open, but Flacco can't get to tem because the pocket is collapsing so quickly. I'd still rather have Boldin than not have Boldin, but having him doesn't change this currently anemic offense.

Do you read box scores or watch the games?

You didn't subtract INTs for wrong routes or bouncing off of brick hands....

120milly is not guaranteed and will probably be restructured down the line. Joe has been very good if not great two playoffs in a row....and has gotten us to the playoffs every year. What more do you want?

Matt Ryan had a 5 INT performance last year with 0 TDs, and I doubt he got this much flack for it.

That's different. He is a proven winner, and has carried his team numerous times, especially the postseason....

But now that you mention it, this is nowhere near the backlash Flacco used to get. I guess winning Super Bowls rather than September accolades has a tendency to shut up all but the most unreasonable critics.

You disagree that the guy we gave 120 million dollars to------ Doesn't look like a 120 million dollar QB?   I'm confused.  He has been one of the worst QB in the league after three games.  I find that to be unacceptable.

You can't get that kind of money and ever flirt with the bad.

Just like I thought,  I knew someone would say something.  Look at the Flacco interview he took the blame on the INT's you don't have to make up some nonsense about what could have happened.  Lord knows at this point no one would believe you anyway.

What more do i want. (for120 million)   Consistency--- and a better than average QB performance sometime this season. He has not looked sharp in not one game  this season.  Flacco needs better receivers to be better.  This is the reason he is not worth 120 million. He is Eli and Eli is Flacco

hypothetical question, if joe has a statisticaly bottom 10 performence this yesr with say 20 plus interceptions, would he swallow some pride and take a paycut? i dont think he would

Your either clueless or just don't like Flacco on a personal level. What QB in the NFL could have overcome the poor O line performance that was exhibited yesterday?

Flacco took the blame because he is a stand up leader that doesn't throw his team mates under the bus in public. And considering the market price for an NFL QB, he is worth every penny he is paid.

This is how i know you don't have it all together.  This money should only be given to one QB in the league right now.  And he has 16td and no picks.  Joe is below average this season.  That's reality.  In fact he has always been pedestrian, minus his playoff run last year.

Yes. You're right on one thing,  I don't really like Flacco.  He is the poster boy of what I don't like about the NFL, overpriced guys that can't really play up to their price tag.

agreed. flacco is a shaub level qb, maybe cutler level who somtimes can let one rip with his arm strength. he doesnt have even close to the right awareness and even passing accuracy that would justify 120 mill. basicaly we used to have a run game that won us a lot games,.flacco cannot win games on his own like brees or peyton. his stats are not a fluke. he is what he is. an above average qb capabale of very good moments. his run in the playoffs last season was a little purple patch that occured at just the right time.

Right, I don't have it all together because I understand simple supply and demand economics. It's not just the NFL. Right or wrong, it's the way of any business in the free world. And you were trashing Flacco long before he signed his latest deal, so don't give that as your excuse.

I'll just go back to ignoring the mindless rants of folks like you because you obviously just don't like the guy. You're entitled to your opinion, but don't crawl back on the band wagon when the O line get's straight and this thing gets fixed.

Shipley was meant to be above average for the Colts down the stretch last year.

At this point he really can't be any worse than Gino, it's probably just a case of him not being as comfortable with adjustments and communication.

You think that... but it's certainly possible.
