Run Game: "We're Not Good Enough Right Now!" - Flacco

I listened to Joe's presser to hear his response about tossing 5 INT's today.  and while he owned up to them, he also stated that when it comes to the Ravens running game....

"We're not good enough right now!"

ain't that the truth?

Wow did he really say the O-line is not good enough to run the football with Rice/Pierce?

Well, he would be right, but I think it was a general statement. Joe put most of the blame on himself.

Rice and Pierce are very talented, yet I had no problem with the amount of throws we have take in the game against the Bills. Even with all the INT, the run game was just THIS bad.

the o lines performence is cumulative in totality. yanda cant do it on hs own. gino has been atrocious. i would trade for a good center.

honestly ginos the worst center we have had in a long time.i dont feel theteam has conidence in him.

Olines are a unit. One bad player can spoil the whole line. For as much money as we have invested in our QB and RB, we seem to like them getting hit alot.

Old man Birk was really the glue in that Oline.

birk was one of the best centers of the 00's. centers can last a long time.

I don't think it was specifically directed at the O line however, I would have no problem if that was the case.

I don't think he was directing the comment towards the O-line at all but rather the team as a whole. However, I would totally agree if his comments were directed towards the O-line.

It's the truth and it's nothing wrong with it.....5ints came from 1 dimensional offense with banged up WRs...

Our TE is one of the problems in passing game: can't hold on the ball.....Dickson butterfinger and 200yr old Dallas are holding back the passing game.

Marlon is hurt, hopefully he's ok or we have nobody to throw to....besides Smith Smith Smith the whole game....

Gino is awful. However, you have to attempt more run plays than 9 against the leagues 30th ranked run D. I do not know if I have seen the Ravens run any draw plays this year which I think would slow defenses down a little bit on their attack mentality. Finally, Joe does not seem to have confidence in his receivers which is what draws him into some bad mistakes. He has got to trust them even if they are not doing their jobs. Look Brady too is struggling with his subpar young receiver play, but he keeps throwing them too him. Marlon Brown needs to be feed the ball, not old man Dallas Clark. I think today was the fault of everyone on that field offensively and glad Flacco did not throw anyone under the bus.

Do you think they'll bench Gino for Shipley? or just let him struggle and see if he can right his own play.

Shipley was meant to be above average for the Colts down the stretch last year.

At this point he really can't be any worse than Gino, it's probably just a case of him not being as comfortable with adjustments and communication.

We ran two draw plays today, if I remember correct.

flacco doesn't have to throw anyone under the bus -- NFL.com and a couple other sites are ripping Dickson, the OL and the lack of weapons to shreds as we speak.

If our false-starting, face-mask grabbing, holding O-line and our anemic running backs were married to Joe Flacco, Joe would be in Divorce Court suing them for lack of support. How many more bone-jarring hits will he be able to take before he really gets hurt? Oh wait, I've just had a revelation! Let's demote Joe to the second string like the other Coach Harbaugh did to Alex Smith and let Tyrod Taylor run the pistol offense. Its worked out great for Colin Kapernick and Alex Smith. Then we could trade Joe to a team who needs a great QB. The passing pocket even broke down today with two blockers in the backfield trying to keep Joe upright. We looked like a 2-2 team today and lost to a 2-2 team that is much better than its record. What was Osemele doing lined up behind the line of scrimmage in an illegal formation. C'mon coaches! Discipline these guys for the Forrest Gump penalties.

5 picks and you say anything?

57.4
1,091
5
7

Percentage                  Yards                    Touchdowns        Ints

Wow 120 million sure buys a lot of excuses. I don't want to hear anything out of the man that thought he could replace a Boldin with Pitta and Torrey.  You got your money now figure out why you are so average     JOE!

Why does Flacco's contract come up so often when talking about him, but the even worse Ray Rice who actually was grossly overpaid, never has his financial burden to the team called into question?

What's even more ironic is how certain trolls here will blame Rice'performance on the OL and playcalling, but accuse others of being homers when pointing out things regarding our SB MVP quarterback

Exactly.  The OL effects the entire offense, you can't pick and choose.  The fact of the matter is Ray Rice is not a player who can generate his own yardage, but he was paid similar to one.  The only back who can really do that in the league is AP, and maybe Marshawn Lynch at times.

Flacco made some poor decisions earlier today but I generally agree. You need time to throw in the pocket and receivers to actually be open.

Plus, the current o-line really just needs to gel as a unit and chemistry of the o-line takes time unfortunately. The longer they are together, the better they get as a whole but our issue is we'll lose McKinnie and eventually replace him with a new LT and that chemistry building will start all over.
