Official ____ sucks, fire ______ - Melt Thread Week 4

Even pass protection was bad today.  Flacco had no time in the pocket.  When he did, he connected (for the most part).  That's where it starts and if we expect to make a run, we have to make some changes there.  Whether that be personnel or scheme, I don't know at this point.  I personally hate the ZBS.

I really believed they were able to read our snap (Yanda).  But then other times there were complete breakdowns.  There was a point in the game we let a clean edge rush come from Flacco's blindside, two plays in a row!

I hate the ZBS. We've sucked ever since it was implemented.

Don't think Gino is the answer either. When does our C pick get healthy? Maybe he can help.

It all begins and ends with the O line. If we don't admit there's an issue and deal with it (Juan Castillo, looking at you!) we're in for a long season.
I entirely agree. He's been a major problem for us.
The crazy thing is he has digressed bigtime . Yeah he dropped passes but not like this . He is killing this team and I would rather see Bajema & Furstenburg .

Regret giving Rice that contract.

Yea. RBs are easier and cheaper to find today, with shorter shelf lives.  It really is mostly dependent on the run blocking.  Rice has shown that without decent run-blocking, he's not going to be a stellar back.

Well,  this is fantastic. Marlon Brown has a thigh injury & Deonte Thomspon has a concussion. Jacoby out with torn MCL & Brandon Stokely is out with a groin injury. That leaves us with only Torrey Smith & Tandon Doss.

Jensen should be good to go in the next couple of weeks.  Even then, I really know nothing about the guy.  I know the coaches love him because he's incredibly physical and has great size, but that's about it.  I don't know if we can realistically expect a 6th rounder for CSU-Pueblo to step in and start in the NFL.  I hope he can.

The good news?  Not much here...Torrey Smith is a legit star and Marlon Brown is coming. Plus there have even been Tandon Doss sightings the last 2 weeks. Oh and the Bengals lost.

The bad news?

EVERYTHING ELSE

First, put me in the fire Castillo immediately club. You can't (unfortunately) fire the players,so someone has to be accountable for the complete train wreck that the OL has been this year.

The tackles? Terrible!!! McKinnie is gone after this year, that much is obvious. As for Oher? Well given the choice between showing Pitta,Arthur Jones and Oher the money this off-season it's not even close for who's dead last on that list for me. He's no better at RT than he was at LT and that spells mediocre. Unless there's an enormous turnaround for him let someone else get suckered into giving him big money. At this point he's never going to sniff a Pro Bowl.

The play calling? Um,does anyone else miss Cam Cameron after this fiasco? One of the worst rush defenses in the league and the Ravens completely abandoned the running game...well crap, during warm ups really.

Flacco? Good thing they weighted that big contract on the last years because after year 3 he's either taking a huge pay cut on the renegotiation or he's finishing his career somewhere else. No way he's ever going to be worth the back end money on that deal. No way.

The defense? No excuse for letting a team like the Bills push them around the way they did today. None.

For me this was every bit as digusting a loss as the beatdowns by Houston and Denver last year. They rallied from those.whether they can rally from this...who knows? I don't think I'm alone in having zero clue what this team's identity is supposed to be.

They have a lot to fix this week.

Another run performance like this and Castillo should absolutely get his walking papers . Is the change at Center only making that big of a difference ? I know he's not that good but he has Yanda & Osemele for help

He bobbled that one pass that turned into Flacco's fifth INT

That was a great play by the S, not on Clark at all.

Our run game officially sucks. Fire whoever is responsible for it.

I'd go easy on that. Ray Rice is not the same guy we've come to expect. I don't know he averages on first down carries, but it has to be at the bottom of the league.

5 interceptions today.

5

I think I've been as staunch a Flacco supporter as anyone on here throughout the years, but Flacco definitely deserves a huge chunk, if not all, of the blame for this L. Yes, the run game is nonexistent and the OL played horrendous today, but at least 4 of those 5 INTs were just plain bad throws. I've never seen him try to force more throws than he did today. Did he and Jay Cutler have a running bet on who could throw more INTs today??? I think this was by far his worst game of his career. There were times in the game where I'm pretty sure even Flacco didn't know what he was doing.

And on a related note, I don't think I've ever seen a Ravens O so utterly inept at moving the chains than in this game. Was brutal to watch.

Bring back Matt Birk.  Condition him, throw Gino back to where he belongs (bench) and get rid of Shipley.

In the meantime, cut Harbaugh's best BFF  Juan Castillo off the street.   He single-handedly ruined our run philosophy with his ZBS bs.

This is bad, we have had no run game since we hired that fired ex Eagle, get rid of him already, and that defense guy we brought in. Things have gone down hill since the start of the season.

Dallas Clark didn't even touch the ball on that last interception. The CB deflected it and the LB made a play

Kinda agree on Castillo. Gino has been horrible, but this Oline got bad so quick, it can't be just one player. Also, everyone on that unit played bad today. Must be the coaching.

Castillo ran more power blocking, I thought? Either way, the ZBS has been around before Castillo. It's not his fault on the ZBS. Now if we're talking other areas then yeah, maybe.

Flacco is the highest paid player on the team, way , way overpaid , he's an average quarterback and this team will win no more division titles until the front office takes out the garbage.

Flacco sought to be the highest paid player in football, he got it, he talked a good game this offseason. too bad for him they actually play the games and employ statisticians.

His stats rank lowest of the low... He is what I thought he was...

At worst, Flacco is Eli or Roethlisberger, which is obviously a really, really high low. There are only a handful of active QBs in the league who could put up good numbers with the cast this offense has right now. It's a joke.

How do you know you can't run the ball if you don't try? 3 or 4 rushes and giving up isn't trying. Flacco has no business throwing the ball as much as he is... 50-60 times a game. If our starting RB won't get at least 20 touches a game, we're toast. Simple as that.  This is beyond retarded.

Harbaugh did say it's time to change schemes during the press conference. I pray to god he was talking about the O-Line.

Let me say this... Not trying to pound on but i was telling you guys.... You cant just say... Flacco can be that type of QB (who throws more) .... Its not that simple... Thats not his games... With more throws its oppotunities to throw ints...

This is why so many say stopping Ray Rice is the key... If you cant stop Ray Rice then that opens up your play action passing.  The same with Eli... He has great weapons but its not about the weapons... Its about their GAMES.

Their Games are heavily based around a run threat

You guys saving grace is this Defense.... They like your old D's will keep yall in games.

I agree wholeheartedly and I have said the same thing myself. Time to stop forcing Flacco into something he isn't and it's time to change up the blocking scheme of our runs.
