Packers @ Ravens - Week 6 - Tailgating for Canadian visitors?

8 posts in this topic

Hey guys, myself and 3 friends (one Packer fan - boooooo!!), are headed to Charm City from Toronto to take in the Packers/Ravens game in a couple weeks. Having only been to Bills games before, we are thoroughly excited for a REAL NFL experience... which includes wanting to check out the tailgate festivities. That being said, I've got a couple questions.

What's the best way to go about this as an out of towner? Keep in mind we will be driving so we will have a car, but I'm assuming you are required to drive it out of the parking lot after the game and I don't plan to be sober enough to do that. So can you leave your car there? If not, what are the options to tailgate without a car. And are there big tailgate parties we could just join in on or how does that work? Sorry for all the rookie questions but the drinking in public laws around here suck!

Thanks guys! Go Ravens!

Get a designated driver, park and party. There's several parking lots and the parking spills onto the closer streets. Everyone kinda does their own thing. It's really up to you to evaluate the crowd and just introduce yourself to people. Maybe a sign saying you're from outta town and looking to party tied around your neck would work, lol. Who knows. There's no set guidelines really. Just be cool and you'll have fun I'm sure. ;)

You have Ravenswalk http://www.baltimoreravens.com/gameday/gameday-events.html
I've only been to the Miller Tavern when my cousin tended bar and it looked like fun, someday I will check out that side of the stadium lol

We park/tailgate in one of Closest parkings lots, next to BARCS, and I think it's 50 bucks a day and you can tailgate, they usually fill up by 1130. Also please check out the new stadium policy on bags http://www.baltimoreravens.com/gameday/all-clear.html. And what's not allowed in the stadium
Http://www.baltimoreravens.com/gameday/fan-guide.html. You will see them trying to sell stuff on the banned list in the parking lots so buyer beware lol and kids selling stuff also it's ok to say NO.
I would not like to spend the night at any of the tailgate lots or walk around that inebriated in Baltimore or any other city! Baltimore does not permit open containers BUT they police will not say anything to you carrying a last beverage to the gates. SAFE will not let openly inebriated people into the stadium Enjoy!

So basically if we don't want to have a DD we can't tailgate? I'm assuming just bringing a cooler and standing around without a car isn't kosher?

Yeah, I wasn't planning to sleep in my car haha, I was just thinking I could leave the car there overnight. What is a safe area to go for some drinks to after the game?

actually you would be find standing or sitting by your car having a brew or 2 and a sandwich. I have seen people walking through the lots with beer or disposable coolers not sure where they are going lol. I am not a drinker so I may not be a good judge, drinking and driving always bad!
